Are you one of those people who complain to the editor in the paper or post whinging things on social media? I closed my account on one social media platform called neighbourly because people were just complaining all the time. They would try and call me and say and email me to say why why arent you posting?! Im like, I dont have time for this. I cant. Solve everyones problems, negativity and certianly dont have time to read every single comment.

Theres a lot of junk out there thats just not worth your time. If you want to complain about something take it up with the person who deals with the complaints first but if they dont do anything about it then tell someone else who can. A lot of people complain but cant think of any solutions to the problem. Its best to give a suggested solution or a better way to do things then just complain.
How meta can you get? :p

Its ok I got this, I just unsubscribe, block or filter.

But before I did this I would wonder why on earth do people spam, dont they realise how many emails people need to sort through every day. Unless they have a secretary, or several, its going to be impossible to keep up.

I wonder if God feels the same way about prayers. Please dont fwd me those junk prayers I dont want to hear them. GEnuine prayers from the heart only!

Im sure there are people out there trying to twist Gods arm a bit. I'll stop sinning only if you give me x. Or they tell Him something everyone else has already prayed and it will be long and repetitive...I kind of think God already knows about that but doesnt let on.

Oh he has let on... There was that part in the Bible about vain repetition, after all...

I have an email that I dedicate just to SPAM.
My friends know my phone number and where I live. If they want to talk they can call or call and stop by. They don't have my personal nor my SPAM email address because it's just too impersonal in my opinion.

SPAMMERS never see the light of day . Everything in that account INBOX and JUNK folder is deleted after 30 days. I don't even have to see it. I just log on once every thirty days and let the email site program purge those emails.

What if junk mail reincarnates? :alien: After it's sent to the trash file it resurfaces as unsolicited phone sales calls.

This is fun.
Phone solicitor. "Hello is this Mrs.......? "
The actual Mrs......"No, you've reached the county coroners corpse transport dispatch station. What is the address of the deceased needing transport please?"
Phone solicitor. Long pause. "I'm sorry? Who did I dial"
Mrs..... repeats myself.
Is this. (phone number).
Mrs. .... "Oh, that was a residential number at one time. But now we've inherited their number from the phone company after they were sent to prison. "
Phone solicitor: "Oh, my! What did they do?"
Mrs..."Oh, the details are a bit gruesome but lets just say it had something to do with unsolicited phone callers ignoring her polite request to stop calling!"

It's been ten years and I haven't....I mean, Mrs.... , hasn't had an unsolicited phone call since. Especially not from that rip off bunch that wanted to extend her car warranty. :giggle:

No problems here, kinda of not liking what you have put forth, it's not very productive,
but, that's just our opinion -

maybe find something or some interest that can bring others some 'good-feelings',
along with making you feel good about you and other things...

What I do is say im busy right now to telemarketers (its true, they always call at bad times) and say can I call you back. They never leave a number and often just hang up.

I thought about it after watching this weird al vid - weird al is a comedic musical parody genius btw.
I only have the odd contact that fwds me junk mostly former work colleagues who dont know how to use email effectively. One job I had the boss would fwd everyone alternative natural health remedies cos she was into new age things, not because anyone had asked for them or were talking about it. . She hired everyone according to their star signs. No lie.

The worst spam I ever got was from the social media site lInkedin. I closed my account with them cos they were always notifying me of 'work anniversaries' which nobody ever celebrated.

Wow. I never knew some people have so much trouble just ignoring stuff. I ignore a lot of stuff every day but I never thought it was any special skill that not everybody could do.

Just don't ever, ever, EVER get a facebook account. All the crap you have to (and apparently can not) ignore will escalate by the cube of the number of friends you have on facebook.

I have tried that and it doesn't work. They called sometimes as little as half an hour later. Telling them to put me on the don't call list, because I'm registered on the national DNC list, doesn't work. Telling them to please stop calling that I'll never accept their offer also doesn't work. They're different people following where the call center computer leads them when it auto-dials numbers.

What did seem to work, at least to this point, is to let them know the number they dialed was a business. A morgue style business. No, no body here is buying anything. Thank you for not calling.

This is an oldie but goodie on dealing with unwanted sales calls.

It seems to work for me, they dont call back.
Maybe you have more persistent telemarketers, but you have to say YOU will call them, not just say you are busy and they can call you back. You have to ask for their number.

The other thing is not to answer and let it ring, if you have caller ID you can do this, if its a number you dont recognise dont even pick it up. Or pick it up and disconnect it. Leave it to go to voicemail if you have that option.

Theres some advice in the Bible if anyone comes to you not bringing the gospel then dont even let them in your house, dont even speak to them. They must have had problems with JWs back in the first century too.

See 2 John 1:10

Oh yes, I did read your advice and I have done that. They tell me they're on a system that doesn't allow them to receive calls. That same company will call back though as I mentioned. Sometimes in as little as half an hour ,but they always call back.

I don't get these calls on my cell though. I use to. Foreign language sales calls even. How does that happen when I don't ever dial on my cell to international numbers.

Google Just Revealed a Brilliantly Simple Trick to Totally Destroy Telemarketers. (Wait, Why Aren't We Doing This Already?)

'You'll never have to talk to another telemarketer,' the Google project manager said. (Which means for telemarketers: Bye-bye, business model!)

They'll just call back most likely. Sometimes my caller ID shows, SPAM CALL? as a message prior to the number calling. Those I definitely let ring without answering.

Lol not seem that sign...I havent seen JWS around lately they must know we dont talk to them, but if any do try I just say yep Im a born again christian and already go to church. Ive seen them give up the door to door thing and set up outside libraries and shopping malls, like Hare Krishnas. I just walk on past even if they say hey I really like your (whatever i am wearing) and I just say no I dont want to go to your yoga class.

Greenpeace was one of the worst for trying to get money out of people. They would want you to sign up right there and there on the spot, not just a donation but a direct debit which meant they could drain money from you for years.
But some slimy 'christian' evangelists try as well, but just say I cant pay for you, but I can pray for you. Then shoot off a prayer and leave it with God to deal with.

I didn't know Greenpeace was that aggressive. I haven't thought of them in years. They use to be in the news on occasion but not of late that I've noticed at least.

Many people are giving up landlines completely.
With smartphones it usually recongises the number so you know whether to pick up or not. Let it ring. If they dont leave a message, then sorry.

The last month I had heaps of calls from different unknown numbers, on my smartphone but none left a message so I didnt call them back. They seemd to be from other mobiles but I dont give my number out to many people, although one said it was from new York city, and I only know one person in nyc. If they were ringing to say I won lotto or something, who knows I may have missed out on a prize. But its unlikely cos wouldnt they have left a message anyway?!

They seemed to have stopped now thank God.

They have gone on facebook. And stopped employing professional beggars I mean fundraisers.
I once said to them why dont you put up a display in the public library if you want to raise awareness instead of bothering people in their private homes? I would be happy to help you with library books for this display but no, they just wanted $$$
