That's an unfair comment... Think it's time for this thread to shut down. smh
I think we can all handle this nicely without the need for a shutdown.

After all, there are threads in the Bible Forum that is way worse than this.

I’m sorry honey, but you have to go look elsewhere for emotional people😉.
I guess you are out of touch with your emotions then?

they have spilled over here though with your hatred for Trump

Your comment was way out of line and hopefully you realize that yourself.

Sorry, didn’t see this one before now.

You seem to enjoy using words like ‘hatred’ and ‘ridiculous’.

Why not try some nicer words?😉.

I could ... except you are clearly not intelligent enough to understand it.
Mr. Ohm can you find research that clearly demonstrates the definitive cause of climate change, one where all the climatologists world wide are in agreement with this research as in their signatures are included.

Perhaps then we could add some validity to your claims.

How bout you zip that big mouth of yours, stop acting like a little brat and LISTEN!!!! The earths climate changes, I already said that if you had read instead of shooting your smart mouth off. Intelligent people don't talk like little brats, grow up. If you want someone to listen to your POV act like an adult. Data and facts can be skewed to a POV which is what the former Greenpeace head was saying. Yes, the earth has warmed, it has cooled, climate changes. They have been crying the sky is falling for years. "Scientists" have said the earth would be gone by this very date. So.... we're still here, last time I checked. Now stop the tantrums and act like a big boy.
You really are ignorant. The average temperature of the Earth is continually warming beyond naturalistic boundaries. You cannot begin to imagine how arrogant you must look to try to dismiss the work of highly educated scientific minds as nonsense.

If you’re driving an automobile, grilling food or emitting flatulents, you’re part of the problem. Your juvenile hypocrisy is amusing at best.
You mean "flatulence".

This is a childish argument. Everybody has to do their part, and that starts with systemic changes that go far beyond letting off a fart. The Amazon is literally burning. The last ten hottest summers in Europe, on record, have been in the last ten years. Just last summer in Australia, a whole species of bats was nearly completely wiped out because they were not adapted for the extremely high heat. Coral reefs are dying faster than ever due to the acidifcation of oceans caused by warming. Lowland countries are flooding at record rates. The amount of greenhouse gasses in the atmosphere has increased by 40% in 30 years.

You might care enough or know enough to understand the ramifications of this, but it is an urgent problem. No trees means not enough oxygen production. High CO2 means continual warming, which leads to cascading temperature rises. If you want to see what the end result of that looks like, look to Venus.

I never claimed to understand climate change or gave my opinion on climate change. Usually when someone is trying to understand anothers position they ask questions.

No one is denying climate change. But from looking at the evidence from many different sources over the years. Not everyone agrees that the warming is caused by mankind.

A theory that is still debated. Please tell me are you a macro evolutionist also?

Stop emitting greenhouse gases..... simple to say but how would you do this? Have you already started? Let's say we did as a country put all our effort towards climate change. Would one country make any significant difference?

https://www.numbeo.com/pollution/rankings_by_country.jsp

The US is 88 on the list of countries ranking in pollution. China being one of the top contributors. Do you think we can get China to get as strict? And what kind of strain would that put on our economy?

"There are no other scientific theories on the subject. It is the overwhelmingly accepted reality in the scientific world."

Not true. There are many books and articles that have different theories. Plus the 97% majority claimed by politicians has been debunked for years now.

"Many decades ago. The Earth is warming faster than natural processes would allow. This is fact."

Very vague. Do you believe that a few decades is enough time to accurately predict? We are still warming from the last ice age which means the earth was once much warmer.

"As opposed to what, an armchair critic who clearly doesn't even understand the computer modelling?"

Data science has had little impact on furthering our understanding of our planet in spite of the abundance of climate data.https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4174912

You have made a lot of assumptions in what I believe.

"This isn't a matter of opinion. It is a matter of fact.
People who don't understand, or ignore, scientific data and facts, are invariably less intelligent.
You're asking ME for evidence? You deny something that is accepted in the scientific world. The facts are already clear. You just don't want to heed them. As for "the world will end anyway", what a lot of irresponsible nonsense that is."

Your fact is your matter of opinion. If you didn't know of more theories then I can see how you can make that assumption.

So far you haven't provided any evidence for your beliefs or explained the evidence and why the evidence is better than other theories. I'm asking you because your the intellectual one and we all need your help in understanding.

As for my statement on Biblical end times. I never said we shouldn't take care of the Earth God gave us to manage. I'll explain so you dont assume again. Even if man made climate change was real. Number 1. if you are Biblical the world will not end that way. 2. As a realist I would imagine we would have to get almost every country to act against climate change. Doesn't seem plausible just look at what's happening to the Amazon rainforest. I truly believe more trees would fix our climate warming and greenhouse gas emissions. Greenhouse gases are only a problem due to our destruction of forests. ( uh oh this is another theory that you claimed didn't exist)

By the way you to talk to others isnt a productive way to get your beliefs heard. By attacking intelligence is usually a way to 1. Get ignored 2. Laughed at. 3. Makes you and your argument look weak.

Read yourself back. You are appealing to fringe scientists and people who have been thoroughly discredited, to try to assert "disagreement" exists in the scientific community about the anthropogenic component of global warming.

It is a very simple scientific evidence that proves it. Since the advent of the industrial revolution, the greenhouse gas in the atmosphere has increased by almost double. IN that same period, the warming of the Earth has sped up roughly relative to the increase in greenhouse gas. We know greenhouse gasses trap heat, and we know human agriculture and industry are the biggest un-natural contributors to those gasses.

Ergo, it's pretty evident we are causing this problem. Particularly when we are cutting down countless trees that help offset this problem.

No actually the arrogance lies with those you make unsubstantiated claims on a discussion board and expect others just to accept his word because of his PhD.... which is in what exactly?

Total hyperbole. If you truly cared about the planet you’d be living in a cave and traveling by foot or horseback your entire life. Go preach your hypocrisy elsewhere.

You’re trying to save the planet is a farcical joke. YouTube George Carlin “Saving the Planet” and learn something.

PS: I’m voting for Trump.

Climate change is number 10 of importance on a well known pollster Gallup. It may be 53% a little over half but the majority are more worried about the ten above it.

Importance of Issues for the last Midterm Voting -- Registered Voters
How important will each of the following issues be to your vote for Congress this year?
Extremely/Very important %
Healthcare
80
The economy 78
Immigration 78
Way women are treated in U.S. society 74
Gun policy 72
Taxes 70
Foreign affairs 68
Way income and wealth are distributed in the U.S. 68
The recent confirmation of Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court 64
U.S. trade and tariff policies 61
Climate change 53
Investigation into Russian involvement in the 2016 U.S. election 45

GALLUP, OCT. 15-28, 2018

And with the economy being the 2nd highest percentage of importance, how does trying to sell something like the Green New Deal going to help the cause?

Climate change is also politically polarized and this kind of scare tactics has been used the the past to bring in Communism The hard Left is in love with authoritarianism, which they of course plan to implement with benevolent wisdom and scientific precision. Global warming theology is the perfect excuse for seizing power. It’s considered morally wrong to resist its demands even though these same scientists claim ideologically that objective morality doesn't exist.

And we know how hard the progressives liberals are pushing socialism. The only difference between socialism and communism, is socialism takes the guns while communism is holding the gun against the head of the citizens.

Nothing new. Find something that the people believe is absolutely important enough to give up their rights and way of life to let Big Government handle the problem. Big Government has never handled any problem very good.

Back on topic:

This is just a personal theory but I believe no body knows what to do . How do you get every country that is 87 places ranked higher than the US on pollution to completely change their economy?

Technically by that comparison the US us doing a great job.

We already have some of the most strict EPA regulations in the world.

Are you practicing what you teach? Are you living on solar power? Is your car eco friendly? Are you completely fossil fuel free? Do you boycott trains, semi trucks, and planes? Are you advocating to shut down jobs that contribute to man made climate change? What is your plan to correct all these issues especially being we still heavily rely on fossil fuels.

It's easy to talk about what's wrong but are you living the solution and advocating on how to fix the problem?

Obviously Americans see climate change not as important as Healthcare, the economy, immigration, equality, gun policy, taxes, foreign affairs, wealth distribution, supreme court drama, and US trade and tariff policies.

And unfortunately to attack climate change will affect the economy, taxes, foreign affairs, wealth distribution, US Trade and tariffs as we try to strong arm other countries.

Another killer is the Nations Debt. But no one is worried about it either.

All of this world chaos was prophesied in scripture. Maybe we figure out a solution to our problems or maybe not. Either we all must be ready to stand before God and answer for what we did with the message of the Gospel.

Can't anyone oppose both sides? Can't anyone stand for moderation in all things any more? Do we have to pick as side if we see faults in both. Neither side is all right or all wrong so why can't we reason together? Abortion is murder. So is war for profit. Marxism is a dead end and so is privatization of public works like schools, dams, bridges and roads. It's called fascism! We need public schools health care and roads for middle class working people. If we devolve into a 2 class society again like 300 years ago ruler vs workers. A civil revolutionary war will is bound to happen again. Heads will roll and bodies will stink, again!

Can't you see the Devil want's us fighting against ourselves. Just read he book of acts and see how 1st generation Christians learned how to share with and love one another. Let that be the role model. Raise your sights from the Rockefellers and the Rothchilds to "The Way."

Of course you can. But every side will have flaws. Their all ran by humans. We just have to be responsible enough to weigh the flaws. What will happen if I dont vote for this side? Who would likely win? Would the winner do more harm from a Biblical morality? The church created this mess and now we want a quick fix.

Our quick fix will take generations. You vote for the less flawed side who is realistically probably going to win and at the same time fight for better education environments that promote moral abiding and patriotic children who grow up to run for office, promote and vote for good, honest God fearing individuals starting at your local and state level because those in the next 10 to 20 years will probably be in Congress or the President.

I think not picking one side is a valid way of stating an opinion.

Both sides are flawed and to me picking one of them is moot.

Society is changing and we need to be able to govern the country for the changes, and not be too tied up in the past.

Like it or not, we already have millions of non native English speakers in this country (I know, I’m one of them), and to make them honorable citizens, we need to communicate with them. Not alienate them.
