Then be honest and true to the word of God ...
Mark 16:15-20 - only deleted in the Vatican and Orthodox manuscripts libraries.
and Acts 2:38-39

believe and obey is the only way.

I am honest.....and your version does not pass the smell test........and like many have pointed OUT to you, which you reject because your religion rejects it....the ending in MARK is not in the oldest manuscripts, nor does it GRAMMATICALLY match the rest of MARK's letter nor his literary style.....

Try some honesty Wags...and embrace the true gospel....not the embellished version with no power

I’m not attacking you when I say this, but your righteousness is but filthy rags to God. Not my words, but His. That’s why I rest my entire being on His loving, eternal, irrevocable saving grace.

Without Jesus all of our righteousness is as filthy rags. I thank Jesus for the new clothes he died to give me.

God bless

who has refused to be baptized ?

I would like some names cause I have never seen or read a post from anyone here who states they refuse baptism

let's talk about how you believe that baptism washes away sin and one must be baptized or you are not saved

or would that derail the thread?

Baptism, works, obedience....it is all a gospel that Paul calls "a different kind" with NO power......but hey....it keeps em in line

ummm?

who pushed their own righteousness here?

would you point it out? musta missed it

Not sure about your question brother? I never said anyone is pushing their own righteousness. Only that our righteousness only comes from Jesus as we believe and follow God's word and that God's promises are conditional.

God bless

I am of the belief that God creates the works....those are the only ones He accepts

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
Ephesians 2:10

Brother, do you believe God's salvation and the Gospel of Jesus Christ is that God has come to save us from our sins or to continue in sin? In the last days it says there will be many that have a form of godliness but deny the power thereof. What do you think this means as well as John 8:31-36 and Matthew 7:22-23?

May God bless you as you seek him through his word.

Good post brother. I am of the same belief.

well works are not righteousness

I mean basically you seem to be making a suit out of 2 materials

the ones you think are good enough and the one that is actually good enough

oh..and I am actually an outspoken sister ;)

I take great comfort in these..

It was for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery.
Galatians 5:1 NASB

Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,
Romans 5:1 NASB

Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; he who comes to Me will not hunger, and he who believes in Me will never thirst.
John 6:35 NASB

Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.
2 Corinthians 5:17 NASB

Of course they are contingent on one thing....Faith. But who gives us faith...Him!!!

and the grace of our Lord was more than abundant, with the faith and love which are found in Christ Jesus.
1 Timothy 1:14 NASB

Righteousness is by faith

Titus 3:5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost

Galatians 5:16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.

Romans 8:13 For if you live after the flesh, you shall die: but if you through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, you shall live.

Righteousness is both forgiveness of sins past and obedience by faith in God's word as he works in us to give us a new heart to love (Hebrews 8:10-12, Romans 13:8-10; Romans 3:31).

God bless

I have always said that any work/fruit is a product of Christ doing it through us as a living sacrifice.....HE is the one that produces....we but bear it.....!!

Me too. thanks for sharing these Charli. They are God's promises to us as we believe and follow God's word. If we are not believing and following God's word and have no fruit our faith is dead (James 2:18-20, 26)

God bless

you didn't answer my question

what are the works we are created to do?

I didn't ask about imputed righteousness

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
Ephesians 2:10

so, what are the works ^^^^^^^God prepared beforehand for us to walk in? mmm?
