A friend is someone intending good and not harm to you, so it is a pity you cannot regard me as a friend.
We can never be good enough for God. This is the gospel, we are sinners and fall short, Amen.
I would not be following Jesus if I did not know this reality.
Please continue.
You know what this young stranger told me.... that I needed to be born again.

My response, "How exactly can I do that?"
He said, "You can't but God can."

First of all we can only be born again when we come to God on His terms..... do you know what those terms are Mr. FHS?

WE ARE SAVED THROUGH MARRIAGE

Eph 5:
21Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.
.......
25Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her 26to make her holy, cleansing b her by the washing with water through the word, 27and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. 28In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. 29After all, no one ever hated their own body, but they feed and care for their body, just as Christ does the church— 30for we are members of his body. 31“For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.” c 32 This is a profound mystery—but I am talking about Christ and the church .33However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.

Allow me to explain.

Salvation work is from the beginning, explained at the garden of Eden. Eve sinned first (not Adam) but sin came to the world on the account of Adam and not Eve. Why? Because Adam being a man/husband, had authority over the wife, the wife was subordinate to the Husband. Them being one in marriage, God puts accountability on the higher authority and thus sin/death came through Adam and not Eve. Even though each received fleshly punishment for their respective roles, the spiritual sin was on Adam.

In the same manner, righteousness/salvation comes through marriage. Not that the church has done anything good but just like the Adam/Eve story, righteousness is imputed to them when they become one with Christ who has fulfilled all righteousness.

But how do we become one with Christ?
Believing that Christ died for your sins is not the way to become the bride, you must believe in Christ and obey His command to love one another- It is all over the scripture. Obedience is the way, not belief. If we accept that subordinate position and obey our master, then our sins have already been paid for on the cross and His righteousness is imputed on us, yet we are still not the bride until the end. We must persevere so many things in this life and hold on to the irrevocable promises, then we shall make it to the wedding and be certified as bride in the end, not now.
Anyone who counts themselves as bride now are just like the foolish brides in the bible.

You can also believe in the gospel and have absolute faith in Christ alone, but if you don't love, you are absolutely nothing.

Why have people willfully blinded themselves with this OSAS thing?

What he was hinting at seemed to be that the unsaved will receive grace on judgement day also and that was explained to he as hypergrace when I joined here. I never heard of it before so I asked somebody what it meant.

I never heard of Calvin before I joined here either.
I don't believe that.

Hi UnderGrace,
This is your testimony not mine.
I have not yet heard about your spiritual birth. It is now five posts in and you are still not there yet.
I am on tender hooks, does she find God or does she miss out?

Come here you angel.

Matt 24:13But the one who perseveres to the end will be saved.

This is Jesus' promise, i think you just misunderstood. It is all over the scripture:

Rom 5:
6For at just the right time, while we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. 7For rarely will anyone to die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die. 8But God proves His love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

9Therefore, since we have now been justified by His blood, how much more shall we be saved from wrath through Him! 10For if, when we were enemies of God, we were reconciled to Him through the death of His Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through His life! 11Not only that, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.

Rom 13:11And do this, understanding the occasion. The hour has come for you to wake up from your slumber, for our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed.
Totally out of context.
Now I understand your dilemma.

You can still look at it from Father/son angle; still sin and death came through disobedience - when Adam (being of higher authority and our father), disobeyed God (spiritual Father).
Sin and death are defeated through obedience when Jesus obeys the Father and we become one with Him by obeying Him too.

You can believe that Jesus died for your sins all your life but if you don't love you are nothing. Love is a work.

You talk as if you are speaking with authority. I listen to Jesus. Peter when he was going to deny Jesus
what did Jesus say

32 But I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith may not fail. And when you
have turned back, strengthen your brothers
Luke 22

20 Granted. But they were broken off because of unbelief, and you stand by faith.
Do not be arrogant, but be afraid.
21 For if God did not spare the natural branches, he will not spare you either.
Rom 11

6 If anyone does not remain in me, he is like a branch that is thrown away and withers;
such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned.
John 15

People who do not know the full depths of repentance in Christ, of working through everything
they are in Him, do not understand what rejecting Christ really means. Such a fleeting thing,
a vague understanding of love and how great Jesus is, a gift given and then fading away into
blackness.

Jesus can just tweak it and it is fine, no problems, we are not dramatically lost in
need a being totally rebuilt. We are safe in Him, He gave such great promises to help support
our faith, and stay exactly were we are before life knocks us over too much.
I have the authority of Scripture.

Anyone can "believe" in something. I believe in certain things I see but that doesn't mean I accept them. Of course of one accepts Jesus Christ, they would have to believe He exist. Acceptance is the key word for me in the process of salvation.
LOL! OK - it is all in one's definitions of terms: you define "accept" pretty much how I define "believe" and vice versa.

But study carefully the Biblical use of "believe" - pisteuo - though it admittedly is used in different ways . . .

You know scripture ... you tell me.
Have you dried up? I am a little surprised as this event by your own description is more important
than your walk with Jesus.

When I was in my late teens, I read a book on the sacrifice of Jesus. It was meditations on His sufferings.
It profoundly broke me. To know how deep and dedicated the Lord was to show us His love and purchase
us as His people, astounding. It was like a switch got flipped inside me, and things go reset. I would do
anything for this King, share His word, speak His love, demonstrate the depths of the promise He has given.
It changed me. Now I was already a believer, witnessed to people, filled with the Spirit, knowing His blessing
but still another step along the path.

So I know this is a path and not an arrival, because each step is a new step into our future.
Each revelation is another glorious truth, except there are so many more to go, and so much others can
share in with ourselves that we can listen to and wonder at the Lords plan and will at work in His people
Amen

Love is a fruit.
It is a fruit that you have to work out with persistence and patience.

The Lord does not command and then keeps the command for you, then it wont be a command. A command is something that you willfully obey or disobey.

Adam willfully disobeyed and death/sin reigned; Christ willfully obeyed and righteousness reigned. We also must obey so that we become one with Christ.
