It is 39c (103f) in Israel... The dry grass around my workplace randomly caught fire today, luckily I was there to put it out before it became a problem.

Just went into that thread WOW! Where do they come from
My experience is that this is the teaching of the street corner preachers both in Canada and the USA, they have little conferences here and there and they all know each other.

......same message stop sinning and feel sorry for your sins and you will be born again (because you have stopped sinning) and then you must continue to work towards being sinless because future sins were not paid for at the cross so they can be held against you.

Truly a travesty!!

It was. Nice and clear. Unlike our quarries in ohio
Many Years ago, I went to the Inland Lakes Sprear Fishing Contest at Lake McConaughy, and it rained HARD the night before. Visibility was about 2 feet, and the only fish I got was about a 3 pound Carp that swam in front of my mask. I had a International Divers Down Flag, on a short rope towing behind me, by regulation, and I was in shallow water. Suddenly I heard a boat motor getting louder and LOUDER. I Hugged the sandy bottom and the boat pulling a water skier passed just inches above my back. Other Scuba Divers saw it and cornered him when he pulled back into shore. The State in their INFINITE WISDOM, had passed law that we has to have an International Divers Down Flag flying close behind us; BUT they never had a law that the made sure all boat owners had to have knowledge of what the International Divers Down Flag meant. He said he thought it was just some type of Swimming Area Flag, that had drifted away from the swimming area, so he used it as a solemn course for his skier. VERY SCARY to realize how close I came to be cut in half by the boat prop.

Just had a storm roll through eastern Iowa, 77.7 degrees now, my I suggest you ask Him for one?
We are still predicted 100 for Friday.
Your relief is on the way, I am told more moderate temps will follow this heat wave.

Not of God is all I can say.....been a heavy influx of Jesus deniers, salvation losers, workers for and those that devalue Jesus, his work, his power, his word, his blood and everything the bible points to.......rather sickening and tragic.....no wonder Jesus said the number is PLENTEOUS that comes before his throne only to be cast into the lake of fire.....

It does not get any plainer..........Our righteous works have ZERO to do with Salvation!

English Standard Version
he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit,

Berean Study Bible
He saved us, not by the righteous deeds we had done, but according to His mercy, through the washing of new birth and renewal by the Holy Spirit.

Berean Literal Bible
He saved us, not by works in righteousness that we did, but according to His mercy, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit,

New American Standard Bible
He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit,

King James Bible
Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
Very few people would suggest that our righteous works grants us salvation. The grace of God is freely offered to those who truly profess Jesus as Lord, the key words being "truly profess". But as with any offer, it must be properly accepted. There is no blessings from God void of our compliance. We may debate what is needed to be complied with but not the need for our compliance. To suggest otherwise is to go against the very flow and form of the entire Bible.

From Adam and Eve losing the Garden of Eden by not complying to the Churches in Revelation being directed to repent, the blessings of God come with instructions that must be complied with.

Faith minus compliance equals no blessings.

Hello DJ3 - welcome.

"...no blessings" does not mean lose of salvation. And if we need "compliance" then salvation is not a gift and is something to be maintained.

Salvation once bestowed will not be retracted or lost. That is the essence of this thread - everything else ( ie. good works) comes after salvation.

Greetings Longtrekker,

The loss of blessings can most certainly include the loss of salvation. The Lord God is a Sovereign God and He is not bound by our sensibilities or understandings. No one will stand before God and tell Him that He cannot revoke their blessings. He can and has removed His protection and favor from those who will not comply to His directions. Do not be fooled, God is not mocked. Call it maintenance or compliance but it is expected of us.

We may debate what needs to be done but not the need to do it.

This reminds me of Korahs rebellion.
Korah challenged Moses and Aaron over where they following Gods way with His blessing.

Moses response was God would answer. This did not worry Korah or his followers.

5 Then he said to Korah and all his followers: "In the morning the LORD will show who belongs to him and who is holy, and he will have that person come near him. The man he chooses he will cause to come near him.
6 You, Korah, and all your followers are to do this: Take censers
7 and tomorrow put fire and incense in them before the LORD. The man the LORD chooses will be the one who is holy. You Levites have gone too far!"
Number 16

Korah and his followers were Levites under Gods blessing, in His service.

29 If these men die a natural death and experience only what usually happens to men, then the LORD has not sent me.
30 But if the LORD brings about something totally new, and the earth opens its mouth and swallows them, with everything that belongs to them, and they go down alive into the grave, then you will know that these men have treated the LORD with contempt."
31 As soon as he finished saying all this, the ground under them split apart
32 and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed them, with their households and all Korah's men and all their possessions.
33 They went down alive into the grave, with everything they owned; the earth closed over them, and they perished and were gone from the community.
34 At their cries, all the Israelites around them fled, shouting, "The earth is going to swallow us too!"
35 And fire came out from the LORD and consumed the 250 men who were offering the incense.
Number 16

There is no security against sin against the Lord.

So in your mind rebellion against God is forgiven in His people.

God does not agree with you as Jude wrote

11 Woe to them! They have taken the way of Cain; they have rushed for profit into Balaam's error; they have been destroyed in Korah's rebellion.
12 These men are blemishes at your love feasts, eating with you without the slightest qualm--shepherds who feed only themselves. They are clouds without rain, blown along by the wind; autumn trees, without fruit and uprooted--twice dead.
13 They are wild waves of the sea, foaming up their shame; wandering stars, for whom blackest darkness has been reserved forever.
Jude 1

And for me, why would anyone want to rebel against God when they know Him.
Korah appeared to have no reason other than jealousy.
His main complaint was Moses was telling them what to do

3 They came as a group to oppose Moses and Aaron and said to them, "You have gone too far! The whole community is holy, every one of them, and the LORD is with them. Why then do you set yourselves above the LORD's assembly?"
Numbers 16

Those who argue against obedience to Jesus and following His ways, are doing the same
as Korah, calling righteous people of God evil legalists. Everyone who takes this road should
beware Gods judgement does not fall on them today, than wait till they meet them at the end.

The corinthians thought they could dishonour the Lord while being believers and the Lords answer

29 For anyone who eats and drinks without recognizing the body of the Lord eats and drinks judgment on himself.
30 That is why many among you are weak and sick, and a number of you have fallen asleep.
31 But if we judged ourselves, we would not come under judgment.
32 When we are judged by the Lord, we are being disciplined so that we will not be condemned with the world.
1 Cor 11

We must be careful.
