Yes its sad! If they would be right with their teaching about the baptism with the Holy Spirit we would find it taught in the bible.
But it was not taught in the bible to other believers. Only to use the acts verses, which were for the most early churches not available is not sufficient as proof for their teaching. The other thing,till the beginning of the 20th century we cant find this teaching and practise of this teaching in the whole churchhistory.
They are deceived and deceive others with this good sounding teaching. This is tragic.

My questioning is about the baptisms that the Jews had. I know they had many different washings for different purification’s. Was there a baptism of repentance and turning to God before his? Was thinking this was a sign they were looking for to fulfill the scripture of preparing for Messiah. Did they know?

If so, then I can understand the question Jesus asked of them. Of God or men. There would of been an uproar from the people if they answered it wasn’t from God.

There were no believer baptisms as a outward sign as a wonderment in the old tesetemrnt. The tribe of Levi was set aside and a ceremonial purifying law was used when one desired to enter the ministry .It is the foundation of the water baptism ceremonial law .

A baptism of desire not confirming but desiring to become a member. Just as the son of Man, Jesus our perfect example.

John was last Levi of the old order. Jesus from the tribe of Judah has come after the order of Melchezedek to establish as our High Priest continually . . . . a kingdom of priests from all the nations of the world, men and woman alike sent out with the gospel key ….the word of God or called the new tongue

So if reading God's word is prophesying, and the word of the Lord will stand forever, how is it that prophecy will cease? If prophecy ceases, and reading is prophesying, then reading Scripture will cease too.

Explain your way out of that.

No prophecy the living abiding word of God will not cease.... just new prophecy . The two witnesses... all thing written in the law and the prophets will be working in the heart of men until the last day .

1 Corinthians 13 doesn't say anything about "new" prophecy. It just says, "prophecy".

Delivering "new" prophecy is called "prophesying". Oral recitation of already-recorded prophecy is called "reading", not "prophesying". Reading Jeremiah's words aloud doesn't make me a prophet any more than reading Paul's words aloud makes me an apostle.

When Jeremiah spoke what God revealed to him, he was prophesying. When the preacher speaks the same words aloud at church, he is not prophesying.

There is no "law of signs". You're adding to Scripture again.

There are many signs recorded in Scripture; few of them have to do with prophecy or tongues.

Speaking in tongues means speaking with languages. The miracle accomplished by Gods Holy Spirit was the fact everyone actually understood and heard what was said in their own language and dialect. Acts 2 calls it the cloven tongue . Its distributed in many languages at one time . No interpreter necessary . Peace. Not confusion. . Not babble .

People cant mimic or imitate or fake that . All you have to do is listen to people today before you realize having first studied the bible yourself, that there is a famine for hearing Gods Bible taught as God presents it .


2nd Corinthians 14 is a different subject almost entirely. Because its about simply being able to communicate clearly with people, and recognizing language barriers when teaching the Bible to different peoples. The Greek is very specific. And many churches today do not teach people to study. Instead they fall over into the traditions of men.

It is the act of the HS baptizing us into the death and burial, The cross. Christ himself. It is where our regeneration takes place. As our sins are washed away (titus 3: 5)

That is your opinion but in John 20:22 Jesus breathed on them and said: " Recieve the Holy Spirit". The risen Lord said this and He stayed with them 40 days, then after instructing the Disciples to go and wait for power from on High. They had the Holy Spirit in them when Jesus said to them "Recieve the Holy Spirit." in John 20:22. They confessed Jesus is Lord (Roman 10:9-10) and they believed and were saved. Just as we are today when we place our faith in the Risen Lord.

Luke 24:49 Jesus tell them to go and wait for something more Power from on high.

What more would one need? Jesus was with them for 40 days. In the Book of Acts chapter one, the context continues Jesus is speaking in Acts 1:8 "You shall receive power after the Holy Spirit has come upon you. to be a witness". They did not need the Holy Spirit to be saved at Pentecost, they were already saved. They were empowered as the Holy Spirit came upon them as the Holy Spirit did in the old testament call the Spirit of the Lord or Spirit of the living God. Same Holy Spirit but now The Holy Spirit abides with us as John chapter 14 states. Your suggestion of a special experience for the elite few is not what the word of God teaches. Jesus said in Luke 11:13 "If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!”"


what are you asking for? The Holy Spirit comes to be in you as Jesus said in John chapter 14. You do not have to ask for what is given for salvation one just needs to place faith in the Lord Jesus Christ they will be saved and receive the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit does more than what some think He does. He is with us, in us, and comes upon us.
