Where did I say they would wolf?

Am not sure about Wigglesworth though. He had unusual faith. So did John G. Lake.

Thanks for bringing this up. Am going to search it out.
You said,: we minister in the same Power Jesus walked in.
Show me this person.

"Just because you do not have the Holy Spirit does not mean that you are not saved" - Waggles

Wow! What the heck is "The Revival Fellowship " teaching you guys? I have read past members specifically saying your church is a cult, and this kind of un- Biblical post bolsters that claim.
Romans 8:9 New King James Version (NKJV)
9 But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does NOT have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His.
This dude is dangerous to say the least!

To think one could be saved and not have the seal of the spirit (eph 1) which is given to ALL who believe, just blows my mind

AMEN....like verses that states clearly that they ALL spoke in unknown LANGUAGES with interpreters etc.....especially Jude, James, Luke, John etc.
Well since paul said the HS gave SOME the gift of tongues There are some deep issues

Not everyone will speak in tongues, since you MUST have the gift for this to occur, so what is the end result. Are the ones who do not not saved? As waggles would claim?

I have yet to meet one person that holds to his particular religious persuasion that does not add self effort (works) as part of a losable salvation that also includes some sort of tongue speaking or some spiritual manifestation of some "gift"

Are you a secular news reporter, the way you plucked that statement right OUT OF THE CONTEXT, and then ran with it like you did.

let's take a look at that statement within it's context...

"Just because you do not have the Holy Spirit does not mean that you are not saved.
Obviously there is always the hope of salvation for all of us: Pentecostal, Roman Catholics, Protestants, Orthodox and others"

Now let's see you address that statement within it's context. Why do YOU think there is NO SALVATION for the Pentecostal, Roman Catholics, Protestants, Orthodox and others, PennEd?

God bless!

Yes, the language of God's grace, the gospel as prophecy. The new tongue was unknown to them that heard it and believed Him not seen
It as it is written gave them ears to make it possibly to believe the eternal not seen.

Its called the hearing of the faith of Christ . Some say we can have the faith of Christ that does live in these earthen bodies of death in respect to their own self, as if they were a source of faith that could move another to do the pleasure of their will in the twinkling of the eye .

It does not work with my wife I end up suffering moving up to the attic (she has a fear of heights)

LOl Lots of truth and little itsy bitsy bits of another kind of truth.

I’m really not concerned about arguing with people over whether or not tongues have ceased, but like I said in post #867, I am concerned about those who pervert the gospel by teaching that ONLY those who speak in tongues are saved - “no tongues, no indwelling Holy Spirit.”

There is someone on Christian Chat who is Pentecostal that teaches this, plus two other Pentecostals who in addition to that also teach that you MUST be water baptized “in Jesus name only” as a salvation formula and being baptized in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirt is invalid -“according to them,” even though Jesus Christ clearly stated to do so in Matthew 28:19.

I’m not trying to paint the entire Pentecostal movement with a broad brush of teaching those false doctrines, but those false doctrines are deceptive and dangerous and need to be exposed!
being baptized in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirt is invalid -“according to them,” even though Jesus Christ clearly stated to do so in Matthew 28:19.

I just noticed this part and was just wondering if mailmandan also considers the part that says "teaching them to obey EVERYTHING I HAVE COMMANDED YOU.. " which I think is the right thing to do instead of rejecting parts of scripture that is against ones doctrine.

NIV1984 1 Corinthians 14:36-40
Did the word of God originate with you? Or are you the only people it has reached? If anybody thinks he is a prophet or spiritually gifted, let him acknowledge that what I am writing to you is the Lord’s command. If he ignores this, he himself will be ignored. Therefore, my brothers, be eager to prophesy, and do not forbid speaking in tongues. But everything should be done in a fitting and orderly way.

I am not a Pentecostal but I believe in the gifts of the Spirit in the body of Christ. (1 Corinthians ch 12)

Are we supposed to OBEY EVERYTHING the Lord COMMANDED us to do if we really received the Holy Spirit that will lead us into all TRUTH and will empower and enable us to do them? Just asking.

Now, brothers, I have applied these things to myself and Apollos for your benefit, so that you may learn from us the meaning of the saying, “Do not go beyond what is written.” Then you will not take pride in one man over against another. For who makes you different from anyone else? What do you have that you did not receive? And if you did receive it, why do you boast as though you did not?

This post makes no sense. Have no idea the point you are trying make. The poster clearly said “just because you don’t have the Holy Spirit doesn’t mean you aren’t saved”.

There is NO Salvation for ANYBODY who doesn’t have the Holy Spirit. THAT IS THE CONTEXT!
Doesn’t matter what denomination you are.

Doctrinal rubbish.
So according to you everybody outside of Pentecost is doomed.
I appreciate you validating my point. Thank you. Mr Footprint, this gentleman in fact believes you can be saved without the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.

Ten Passive Imperatives in the New Testament

Since this mood seems to be so critical to our ongoing experience of God’s salvation, I decided to do a search through the New Testament to see where I could find other instances of the passive imperative. All these instances below are true passive imperatives (in contrast to many other phrases that still convey the sense of God’s operation and our cooperation, i.e. Phil. 2:12-13), which means that in Greek they are represented by one word—a verb in the passive voice and imperative mood. Thus, no matter how your preferred Bible version translates these phrases (ESV has “save yourself” for Acts 2:40, which does not accurately convey this tension), they should be understood as a command directed to you, yet not enacted directly by you. So the verb should be past tense in form (although not necessarily past tense in meaning; in Romans 12:2 the passive imperative is in the present tense, so it could be translated as “be being transformed”).

  1. Be saved—Acts 2:40
  2. Be transformed—Rom. 12:2
  3. Be reconciled—2 Cor. 5:20
  4. Be enlarged—2 Cor. 6:13
  5. Be separated—2 Cor. 6:17
  6. Be perfected—2 Cor. 13:11
  7. Be filled—Eph. 5:18
  8. Be empowered—Eph. 6:10
  9. Be humbled—1 Pet. 5:6
  10. Be sanctified—Rev. 22:11
In fact, the passive imperative is the divine imperative. God commands us to let him do these things in our hearts. Because it is passive, we do not initiate it, because it is imperative, it comes from God, and he commands us.

In the Greek NT, the divine imperative is always from God. Hence, "divine" imperative.

And we already know who you are.

"No deceiver would ever teach obedience to God and no true Christian would ever teach DISOBEDIENCE TO GOD."

NIV1984 Jude 1:4
For certain men whose condemnation was written about long ago have secretly slipped in among you. They are godless men, who change the grace of our God into a license for immorality and deny Jesus Christ our only Sovereign and Lord.

NIV1984 Titus 1:16
They claim to know God, but by their actions they deny him. They are detestable, disobedient and unfit for doing anything good.

I also got wondering about this Revival Fellowship of Waggles'. Here is what I found. The interesting thing, it describes him to a tee. Please note, it is a cult, I have Christian Australian friends and they confirmed it as true.

Another interesting thing, is the members are not allowed to hang out with non members, unless it is to win converts. So, he is not here out of the goodness of his heart, but to proselytize.

"For those that may not be aware, there are several extremely dangerous groups promoting themselves to be 'the only way' into the kingdom of God.

They are as follows:

The Revival Fellowship
Revival Centres International
Geelong Revival Centres
Christian Assemblies International.

They all splintered from one man, Lloyd Longfield and the Revival Centres International are now run by his son.

Common characteristics to all groups include but not limited to:-
Extremely bigoted attitude towards other christian groups, even to each other
Promoting a 'one way' doctrine to heaven
Promoting a 'tongues only' salvation
Promoting racism through British Israel
Promoting Legalism through a huge list of rules
Claiming that all their teachings are Bible Based and that any other christian group is in apostate, including the other groups mentioned
Strong anti-catholic message
Bizzare Paranoid conspiracy theorys about persecution and doomsday prohpecies that are not based in truth
No official training allowed for Pastors or Members
Members are not allowed to fellowship with anyone outside of group unless potential recruit
Members aren't allowed to marry outside of group
Members must live with other members
Spying is encouraged and people must report everything to oversite
Any comments against oversite is labelled 'divisive' and people are disfellowshipped
There have been allegations of sexual abuse and misuse of tithes, Cult leader bought a huge mansion in Melbourne, another from the Revival Fellowship recently bought a very expensive beachfront house in Narabeen (Sydney) despite not working for past 7 years.
Members are strongly urged to cut contact with friends and family
Members are told they are 'not safe' outside the group
Members are strictly forbidden studying the scriptures outside the group
Members are forbidden to discuss the bible without a pastor present
Members are strongly urged to give 10% or more of their income
Members expected to dedicate an extreme amount of time to the group, ie Wednesday night house meeting, Friday night fellowship, Saturday activities and two meetings on a Sunday. Any member not attending all activities is questioned and either disfellowshiped or told to 'clean up their act'.
Ex members shunned by cult members.
Any problems a member has is encouraged to be 'overcome' by intense tounges session and 'guidance' from the Pastor.
Oversite claim to be without sin
Oversite claim to be 'led by the Lord' when making decisions about doctrine or any decision for that matter.
Members are told to blindly 'obey them that have the rule over you' and obey oversite, no matter what the personal consequences.
Members must divorce if their spouse becomes an ex member
High pressure 'Black and white' view
Extreme high pressure witnessing
Zero tolerance for fornicators (Revival Centres International) - fornicators are O-U-T for good 'post spirit filled'
Members must move where there is an 'assembly'
Members not allowed in pubs, even if not drinking
Drinking is not allowed

The list goes on.

Some ex members have committed suicide, and nearly all ex members feel severely lost, depressed, daised, like they've 'left the Lord' (leaving the group is in their eyes 'blasphemy of the Holy Ghost' speaking against the group is 'blashpemy of the Holy Ghost') many refuse to fellowship in other churches, many have nightmares about nuclear devastation. Members are kept in the dark over all financial issues, no-one is accountable for tithes etc.

There is a good website explaining the horrible abuse that goes on in this place, it would be good if anyone could spread the word as I personally have suffered tremendous anguish at the hands of two of the above organisations.

Click here to view more of the devastation caused by these groups that claim to be the only true church since pentecost.

Thank you."

NIV1984 2 John 1:7-11
Many deceivers, who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh, have gone out into the world. Any such person is the deceiver and the antichrist. Watch out that you do not lose what you have worked for, but that you may be rewarded fully. ANYONE WHO RUNS AHEAD and does not continue in the teaching of Christ does not have God; whoever continues in the teaching has both the Father and the Son. If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not take him into your house or welcome him. Anyone who welcomes him shares in his WICKED WORK.

NIV1984 Jude 1:4
For certain men whose condemnation was written about long ago have secretly slipped in among you. They are GODLESS men, who change the grace of our God into a license for immorality and deny Jesus Christ our only Sovereign and Lord.

NIV1984 Matthew 7:21-23
“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I NEVER KNEW YOU. Away from me, you evildoers!’

NIV1984 1 Corinthians 8:1-3
We know that we all possess knowledge. Knowledge puffs up, but love builds up. The man who thinks he knows something does not yet know as he ought to know. But THE MAN WHO LOVES GOD IS KNOWN BY GOD.

Do you acknowledge what Jesus set forth as an example for us to follow, to WALK IN LOVE which is to WALK IN OBEDIENCE TO HIS COMMANDS? Not only to believe but also to suffer for Him? If you can't acknowledge them because the doctrine you learned from men says otherwise, then, you do not acknowledge Jesus as coming in the flesh and scriptures clearly says who you are.

IF ANYONE WOULD TEACH THAT OBEDIENCE TO GOD’S WORD, TEACHINGS, LAWS AND COMMANDS, IS NOT NECESSARY OR PART OF SALVATION, DOES HE NOT TEACH CONTRARY TO THE LORD’S TEACHINGS?

WHEN THE LORD SAID THAT “IF YOU WANT TO ENTER LIFE, OBEY THE COMMANDMENTS”, AND SOMEONE ELSE WOULD SAY THAT OBEDIENCE TO GOD WILL NOT SAVE ANYONE BECAUSE “FAITH ALONE SAVES”. IS IT NOT A CLEAR REJECTION, NULLIFICATION, DISRESPECT, DISOBEDIENCE, UNBELIEF AND MOCKERY OF GOD’S WORD?

NIV1984 James 2:26
As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead.

I urge you, brothers and sisters, to watch out for those who cause divisions and put obstacles in your way that are contrary to the teaching you have learned. Keep away from them. 18 For such people are not serving our Lord Christ, but their own appetites. By smooth talk and flattery they deceive the minds of naive people. 19 Everyone has heard about your obedience, so I rejoice because of you; but I want you to be wise about what is good, and innocent about what is evil.
