Correct away as much as you like. I am just saying we are just simple followers of the King.
And as servants we can only pronounce as He leads through His word.
You say you listen to Him, so why not exercise this, because He is the message not us.

THIS is THE Gospel unto Salvation:
1 Corinthians 15:

Romans 10:9-10 King James Version (KJV)
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
AND THIS IS WHAT PAUL SAYS ABOUT THOSE THAT PREACH ANY OTHER GOSPEL:
Galatians 1:8-9 King James Version (KJV)
8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be ACCURSED.
9 As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be ACCURSED.
The Gospel is NOT turning from your sins. If we COULD do that we wouldn't need Jesus.
AFTER we confess and believe, and are sealed with the Holy Spirit, THEN we have the power to not sin. However we still inhabit our dead flesh, and we still live in a fallen world, and we still are constantly tempted by the devil. Consequently we still ALL STUMBLE in many ways. But He is faithful, even when we always aren't.

I go to a different church that is a mixture of different groups and theologies.
But I hold to one particular view.
I help in the services, lead house groups, do passion plays, street witnessing etc.
And what I share is examples of my theology and witness.
You could say that is promoting it, but actually it is just to give a reference point as I said.
I just showed you what THE Gospel unto Salvation is. Paul spells it out EXACTLY.
We cannot turn from our sins until we are born again.
We are to repent from trying to attain Salvation through dead works, and confess that ONLY Jesus' shed Blood can take away our sins.
If you agree with that, then we're good.
I think you miss my point. A theological position is expressed by various groups. By using them as a reference
does not make you their promoter or even that you are part of their group. But I suppose this might not
be something you like, suggesting theology is a group of ideas expressed from the bible but not the pure
text of scripture ..... is this your approach?

The problem in the world is "evil desires" from the heart that defile or destroy people.
And the remedy is repentance, admitting these desires are evil and lead to sin, rebellious
and destructive behaviour against God and other people, and even ourselves.
We need to then commit to do that which is good founded on love.
Confession, we need to outwardly confess our commitment and rejection of sin.
Christ. We need to approach God and accept Christ is the attoning sacrifice for our sins
through the cross, and ask Him to forgive us.
We then need to listen and learn from Jesus and follow in obedience.
Now upon this foundation we can build. Amen.

Everyone who confesses the name of the Lord must turn away from wickedness
2 Tim 2:19
do not imitate what is evil but what is good. Anyone who does what is good is from God.

Many of those who believed now came and openly confessed their evil deeds.

Wow, I learned something new today.
