Those who do not understand God's power in preserving His saints forever are left with trying to preserves themselves.
And that will be a bad deal for them in the end......
Those who do not understand God's power in preserving His saints forever are left with trying to preserves themselves.
... The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons. Such teachings come through hypocritical liars, whose consciences have been seared as with a hot iron. 1 Timothy 4:1-2Do you now understand that the indwelling of the Holy Spirit in Old Testament times was selective and temporary, but in New Testament times, the Holy Spirit only indwells believers and that indwelling is permanent?
Yep. And when you hear them talk. That is what comes out.. How they must change, They must grow. They must do this and that.
What you will hardly ever hear at all is how God does the work. No credit to God whatsoever.
No...........not for one split second....!!and now he says he was not talking about himself?? Is there anyone here who really believes this??![]()
Great minds haha I said that yesterday and embellished it a bit hahah..........Ramble on.....a song from Led Zepp comes to mind.
This is wrong, God would not show up with an exam. Salvation is a gift, it is not a reward.
This also shows what many have said, You have no idea of how bad or serious your situation is with God.
If God would give an exam, WE ALL WOULD FAIL (including you peter) in fact this is what the bible says, why will you not admit that Peter. What will it take for you to repent?
Thats WHY we need grace, and WHY we need to be adopted into Gods family to be saved.
Therefore let us leave the elementary teachings about Christ and go on to maturity, not laying again the foundation of repentance from acts that lead to death, and of faith in God, instruction about baptisms, the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment. And God permitting, we will do so. It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, who have shared in the Holy Spirit, who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the coming age, if they fall away, to be brought back to repentance, because to their loss they are crucifying the Son of God all over again and subjecting him to public disgrace. Land that drinks in the rain often falling on it and that produces a crop useful to those for whom it is farmed receives the blessing of God. But land that produces thorns and thistles is worthless and is in danger of being cursed. IN THE END IT WILL BE BURNED.. Hebrews 6:1-8... The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons. Such teachings come through hypocritical liars, whose consciences have been seared as with a hot iron. 1 Timothy 4:1-2
Well maybe you still have a better say than what THE SPIRIT CLEARLY SAYS?
The people who will abandon the FAITH must first have FAITH before it could be said that they WILL ABANDON THE FAITH.
We receive the Spirit through FAITH.
...He redeemed us in order that the blessing given to Abraham might come to the Gentiles through Christ Jesus, so that by faith we might receive the promise of the Spirit. Galatians 3:14
...On one occasion, while he was eating with them, he gave them this command: “Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift my Father promised, which you have heard me speak about. For John baptized with water, but in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.” Acts 1:4-5
If you will be one of those who decided to abandon the FAITH and follow the deceiving spirits and things taught by demons, will the Holy Spirit remain in you?
...Whoever has my commands and obeys them, he is the one who loves me. He who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love him and show myself to him.” Jesus replied, “If anyone loves me, he will obey my teaching. My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him. He who does not love me will not obey my teaching. These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me.
John 14:21,23-24
... “I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful. You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. Remain in me, and I will remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. “I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. If anyone does not remain in me, he is like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given you. This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples. John 15:1-8
... Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. 2 Corinthians 3:17
...We know that we have come to know him if we obey his commands. The man who says, “I know him,” but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But if anyone obeys his word, God’s love is truly made complete in him. This is how we know we are in him: Whoever claims to live in him must walk as Jesus did. 1 John 2:3-6
... Wake up! Strengthen what remains and is about to die, for I have not found your deeds complete in the sight of my God. Remember, therefore, what you have received and heard; obey it, and repent. But if you do not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what time I will come to you. Revelation 3:2-3
...They were seared by the intense heat and they CURSED THE NAME OF GOD, who had control over these plagues, but they REFUSED TO REPENT and glorify him. The fifth angel poured out his bowl on the throne of the beast, and his kingdom was plunged into darkness. Men gnawed their tongues in agony and CURSED THE GOD OF HEAVEN because of their pains and their sores, but they REFUSED TO REPENT of what they had done. Revelation 16:9-11
...Therefore I tell you that no one who is speaking by the Spirit of God says, “Jesus be cursed,” and no one can say, “Jesus is Lord,” except by the Holy Spirit. 1 Corinthians 12:3
...Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you—unless, of course, you fail the test? 2 Corinthians 13:5
REMAIN IN HIM AND HE WILL REMAIN IN YOU.
"OBEY IT, AND REPENT." (Revelations 3:1-3)
What we hate is hypocritical behavior.
What it comes down to is a chance to shut our mouths and to put into practice what you preach. If you are not Peterjens, why hesitate to say so?
Is it simply because you are Peter, and you have been deceptive and sinning through breaking the rules of this site? Are you hesitant because you don't want your whole holiness and obedience act to come crashing down?
Yet again. A simple yes or no.
As God is your witness, were you previously on this site under the name "PeterJens"?

You know...YTG, the new resident Cainologist gave away that he has been here before as well.....he made a statement to STAR about this site GOING BACK TO BEING BORING........SOMEONE NEW cannot say that.....Only one that has been here before can say something about this site in the past tense.......wondwr if he has any honesty to admit the truth.....highly unlikelyStop being a coward.
As God is your witness, were you previously on this site under the name "PeterJens"?
Then how can you refer to this site in the past tense and it going back to being boring if you have not been here before......you already busted yourself and now are being deceptive about it....no credibility....and no honesty or integrity!!I know I would not knowingly come back to a site while I was banned. However, so what if someone cares that way about this site and comes back?
The text says "some shall depart from THE FAITH" ("the faith" always refers to "that body of truth" as given in the NT [see also Hebrews 9:16-17])… not "depart from faith"...
Amen Blue and morning/afternoon from down underPeterJens was always good at beating around the bush to avoid answering direct questions.. lol
As do you.
If one can lose salvation through lack of obedience/good works, then Jesus didn't know what He was talking about.
Jesus said that He gives us eternal life, and that we shall never perish, and that no one can snatch us out of His, or the Father's hand. (John 3:16, 10: 28-29)
"No one" includes oneself.
But, according to you, "never" would not actually mean never.
The Bible says that we have been sealed by the Holy Spirit which is a pledge guaranteeing our inheritance. (Ephesians 1:13-14, 2 Corinthians 1:22, 5:5)
According to you, that pledge and guarantee isn't worth a lick.
The Bible says we are sealed for the Day of Redemption. (Ephesians 4:30)
If we can lose salvation, we haven't been sealed until the day of redemption - only until we personally fail.
Jesus said that He will lose none of us, but will raise us up on the last day. (John 6:39)
Looks like Jesus was mistaken when He said "none" of us (Christians) would be lost.
Jesus said that believers will never come into judgment, and have passed from death into life. (John 5:24)
To lose salvation would put the former believer back under judgment. So, "never" doesn't mean never according to Jesus again.
The Bible says our calling is irrevocable. (Roman 11:29)
"Irrevocable" means: "Not able to be changed, reversed, or recovered; final." But I guess Paul (and God) doesn't know that.
The Bible says nothing in all creation can separate us from the love of God. (Romans 8:38-39)
Are we created? Then not even we can do it.
The Bible says God will complete the good work that He began in us. (Philippians 1:6)
If we can lose salvation, the "good work" would absolutely not be completed.
The Bible says we have been perfected for all time. (Hebrews 10:14)
If we can lose salvation, we have not been perfected for all time, only until we fail.
The Bible says if we drink from the living water that is Christ, we will never be thirsty again. (John 4:14)
Yet again, I guess Jesus didn't understand the word "never".
The Bible says God will sustain us to the end, guiltless in the day of the Lord Jesus. (1 Corinthians 1:8)
According to you, we sustain ourselves by our continued obedience until the end.
The Bible says that our debt to God has been canceled through Christ Jesus. (Colossians 2:13-14)
If we lose salvation, the debt returns, even though Jesus paid it in full on the cross. So, "canceled" doesn't actually mean canceled in scripture.
Jesus said that those who are His will never hunger nor thirst again. (John 6:35)
Oops, there goes Jesus again - not knowing what the word "never" actually means.
I not only read all of Jesus' teachings, I obey them.As do you.
Jesus doesn't give his Spirit to people unless they obey.If one can lose salvation through lack of obedience/good works, then Jesus didn't know what He was talking about.
Did you get a marker and blot out the 'if' word?Jesus said that He gives us eternal life, and that we shall never perish, and that no one can snatch us out of His, or the Father's hand. (John 3:16, 10: 28-29)
If"No one" includes oneself.

IfThe Bible says we are sealed for the Day of Redemption. (Ephesians 4:30)
You are sealed alright, sealed for a punishment. If we can lose salvation, we haven't been sealed until the day of redemption - only until we personally fail.
He said that he would lose none that the Father gave him. That was a special time.Jesus said that He will lose none of us, but will raise us up on the last day. (John 6:39)
You have to go back to the 'If'.Looks like Jesus was mistaken when He said "none" of us (Christians) would be lost.
Jesus said that believers will never come into judgment, and have passed from death into life. (John 5:24)
Jesus ain't your fool.To lose salvation would put the former believer back under judgment. So, "never" doesn't mean never according to Jesus again.

there are conditions. You don't think God is a fool do you?If we lose salvation, the debt returns, even though Jesus paid it in full on the cross. So, "canceled" doesn't actually mean canceled in scripture.

Actually, no it is possible
If your not peter. You would say so. And we would have nothing to accuse you of
You not answering just gives us power and energy to continue to know what we know. You are peter.
Answering my question yesterday would either prove me right, or prove me wrong, as to how easy it is to differentiate between a worker for. And a grace believer, but no, You did not answer, so we are empowered to call your bluff
You do it to yourself man.. Just like you did with your last 2 nics.. Nothing ever changes.. how long do you have left??
It's his blatant hypocrisy that annoys me.
A true friend is hard to find.....they loved each other as brothers...will give you an example...My best friend was named Andy....known him since age 11 and we done a lot of things together until we moved apart....a few years back he got cancer and we had not really seen each other in years so I went to see him a day before he died....I walked in and it was he and I and his wife, daughters and a few women from the church he preached at......He said, David my friend.....and I lost it and we both started bawling.....we hugged and I told him I loved him......was the saddest day.....when I left the sun was setting and I knew I would not see him again until heaven......A special, brotherly love for my friend and brother.....David had this toward Johathan...........I have dreamed about him 4 times...all 4 tkmes he came to say hi, but could not stay.....I decided to look this up..... Oy vey! Why exactly are you impressed?
2Sam 1:26 I am distressed for thee, my brother Jonathan: very pleasant hast thou been unto me: thy love to me was wonderful, passing the love of women.
1Sam 20:41 And as soon as the lad was gone, David arose out of a place toward the south, and fell on his face to the ground, and bowed himself three times: and they kissed one another, and wept one with another, until David exceeded.
WEIRD PEOPLE them hebrews were. I have never kissed another man, btw. Nor do I know of any male friend whose love is passing the love of women!
Can someone explain this to me please?
I think our “works”, (the desire to do good) is an outward result and manifestation of our salvation. It does not get any plainer..........Our righteous works have ZERO to do with Salvation!
English Standard Version
he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit,
Berean Study Bible
He saved us, not by the righteous deeds we had done, but according to His mercy, through the washing of new birth and renewal by the Holy Spirit.
Berean Literal Bible
He saved us, not by works in righteousness that we did, but according to His mercy, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit,
New American Standard Bible
