Now while you are thinking you got that one RIGHT, let me show you that there are NOT two principles, but rather ONLY ONE.

You see with TRUE LOVE, Doing what Pleases another, is ALWAYS TRUE LOVE.

1 John 5:2-3 (HCSB)
2 This is how we know that we love God’s children when we love God and obey His commands.
3 For this is what love for God is: to keep His commands. Now His commands are not a burden,
Hi vco,

I think you miss read me. It has never about me getting things right. A principle or reality can be
expressed in more than one way. And each layer can be expanded or contracted.

My point is about free will and love itself, its nature and openness.
You seem to not know how to address this. Does it challenge you?

Your statement was false....You said James was with Jesus during his ministry and understood faith....that was a false statement....do you have one ounce of honesty about what you say and why cannot you ADMIT ERROR ON YOUR PART.....exactly why nothibg you say has any value or creedance...You are one of the most dishonest people I have ever seen in my life....Just admit you said something wrong which negates the point you were trying to prove
!!!

Does this sound like knowing about faith or being with Jesus during his ministry->>> For not even His brothers were believing in Him
You are one of the most dishonest people I have ever seen in my life

A clown could not have said something funnier in their life. If grace101 is the most dishonest person
you have met in your life, you have never gone and done anything, or else you are lying about your experience.

I would suggest to be nice to you, you are just joking :ROFL::ROFL::ROFL::ROFL::ROFL::ROFL::ROFL:

As you talk about honesty so much, can you be honest and just listen and respond in a nice polite manner
and present your point, rather than the full on assault of the marines going to war. But maybe this is all
you know, because those attacked normally just fold and pack up and leave, or get upset and retaliate.

:love::love::love::love::love::love::love::love::love::love::love::unsure::eek::sleep: I wish they had a wet sponge image, because that is
what I will give this, a nice face wash, thankyou. Praise the Lord for His grace and forgiveness.

Disqualified.....from preaching. Salvation has been accomplished in Paul for time and eternity.
In 1 Corinthians 9:18, Paul did say - What then is my reward? Just this: that in preaching the gospel I may offer it free of charge, and so not make full use of my rights as a preacher of the gospel. I was reading through the comments of Greek scholar AT Robertson on 1 Corinthians 9:27 - He notes: Paul asks the question. What is the prize before Paul? Is it that reward of which he spoke in verse 1 Corinthians 9:18, his glorying of preaching a free gospel? (y)

There is a difference between a prize and a gift. A prize is something that you work for and earn where a gift is something that you freely accept without merit. Prize (brabeion) - the prize awarded to a victor, the reward (recognition) that follows triumph. That doesn't sound like a free gift (Romans 5:15-18; 6:23; Ephesians 2:8). 1 Corinthians 3:14-15 mentions - If the work that anyone has built on the foundation survives, he will receive a reward. If anyone's work is burned up, he will suffer loss, (of reward) though he himself will be saved. *1 Corinthians 9:27 - disqualified for the prize. (NIV)

Notice that verse 24 says, "Do you not know that those who run in a race ALL run, but ONLY ONE receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it." In an Olympic race, all runners run but only one receives the gold medal. So what happens to the runners that receive the silver medal or bronze medal or finish the race with no medal? Are they disqualified from the Olympics? NO.

Works-salvationists cannot grasp this truth and basically "define" faith/believe "as" obedience/works. Saved through faith ends up as saved through faith AND works. Been there, done that, prior to my conversion, while still attending the RCC several years ago.
mmd, interesting concept.

But can you address the polluted and destructive unresolved heart issue.
Are we to enter heaven and have the Holy Spirit dwell in a polluted soul?

If you cannot address this, then you negate Paul saying we are Gods Holy temple.
And if we are Gods Holy temple when we sin, we defile our position in Him and if we continue in theis
state, then the Lord has to withdraw and things go south.

So the other model is God abides in corruption, but that is ok because Jesus makes it look clean.
I suppose to admit this dilemma would expose your assumptions so you cannot, because then
your position would have to change, which is what Jesus said would happen if we follow Him and
actually believe the cross leads us to heaven.

Your statement was false......James was not with Jesus during his ministry and if you actually knew the bible like you peddle that you do, you would know why I said what I said.....

John 7:5 For not even His brothers were believing in Him

Is the book of James inspired by God?

Do you know such a person who claims to be sinless?

JPT
I've had discussions with people on Christian Chat (and other Christian forums) in the past who claimed to be living a sinless, without fault or defect, flawless, absolute perfect life (exactly as Jesus lived) 100% of the time. They were all eventually banned and such people are suffering from a terminal case of self righteousness (1 John 1:8-10).

dc, Brother, I think u have gone to far at this point, and would truly benefit if you abolished this game...:):)
if u decline, then of course, as we have learned, we WILL REAP what we sow...(V)
What game would that be? I play no games....and if one is going to peddle obedience to remain saved while being disobedient....and here illegally at the same time needs to be addressed....especially when they will twist, embellish what we say and flat misrepresent the truth....it is not unbiblical to call a spade a spade....!!

Talk about dishonesty......

We were discussing the epistle of James...it was written by Jesus' brother.
Jesus family also thought He was a bit off the wall,
I remember that we were not discussing this aspect of James....

There is no forgiveness here.....from those that claim to know Jesus and His teachings.
James was with Jesus through his ministry and knew about faith is not a truthful statement and it was in part used to prove in invalid point....and when you can be honest and admit error you will be on the road to honesty....forgiveness has nothing to do with denying a false statement!

I did not misunderstand.....Jesus said to search the Old because it testified of him and to say what you said about who put the two together and who can read what to me is ignorant.....especially when the OT was translated into the common Greek language in the 3rd to 1st century B.C. called the Septuagint.....Jesus told them ALL to search the O.T. and Abraham said the rich man's brothers had the Law and Prophets which would keep them from coming to the place the ruch man was!
no he never, you never had a bible till around 1500 ad, plus around an other 519 year, to write this post.
so you read the bible and then searched , on your own for proof of the old testament.

you had to a jewish rabbi or pharisee or scribe ,to read from these and be jewish , hence talking to a jewish nation, when speaking about the old testament , at the time of your quote.

70 ad is not in the bible , is attached to the history books, and points to the mean t by john the baptist ,saying repent by mouth, your sin to the jewish people, someware around 30 ad,with a gap of 40 year, yet to get the new testament to rome, though peter and paul is an other story, but no none christian jew, would want to see the new testament , they want to kill the apostles, and stop it in its track.

That’s like saying John the Baptist and water Baptism should be disregarded because he had a moment of doubt that Jesus was the Messiah.

And when John had heard in prison about the works of Christ, he sent two of his disciples and said to Him, “Are You the Coming One, or do we look for another?” Matthew 11:2-3

Yes he did....and sorry man..you don't know what you are talking about....the church letters were being passed around to the churches, the OT had been translated into Greek before Christ was born and he did indeed say to All to search the scriptures (OT because New was not writtne yet) and John said that NO MAN NEEDS TO BE TAUGHT anything by another man because they have the Spirit of God.....I suggest you go study a few years and then come back when you have some knowledge and understanding

13 For you have heard of my previous way of life in Judaism, how intensely I persecuted the church of God and tried to destroy it. 14 I was advancing in Judaism beyond many of my own age among my people and was extremely zealous for the traditions of my fathers. gal 1

I quality as much as anyone here.
"Let he that hath no sin cast the first stone...."

Sound familiar?
Do YOU have no sin?
Then worry about YOUR sins and not mine.
Thanks.
As usual you misapply God's word and you have no credibility zero.

Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.

Oh now I see. You are one of those on here to believes one must work daily to keep their salvation. As for Dr. Stanley, I admire his humility and his words he speaks directly from the Word of God
Amen....she constantly peddles a vanilla works based self saving dogma that devalues Christ and lifts self effort......My Jesus saves to the uttermost and keeps me by his power through the faith he begins, finishes and completes....her jesus needs help to remain faithful enough to keep oneself saved....that is not the biblical Jesus

Here you go people of this wonderful thread. FollowHisSteps is truly "A Wolf in Sheep's Clothing Clothing."
It is only his sugar coated flowery language that is a cover up for his deeply rooted anger.

Use caution ahead -- counterfeit gospel at work.
