She really acts strange - either completely deceived or putting on a big front, or maybe even demon-possessed?
Benny Hinn, NAR, Heidi Baker, Todd Bentley etc.
These form a theological group following Latter Rain theology. Along with the Toronto Blessing they represent
a spiritual dabbling without boundaries. And there is a common theme. A real sense of being drunk, an overpowering
emotional experience titled "wow"
The problem is it is just this, some experience or state that the participant experiences, but is neither in their control
or specifically with a known origin. You then get gold dust, angel feathers, prophecy with prophets speaking with the
dead, angels heaping up wealth to distribute, astral travel to the 3rd heaven, theology around being "gods", positivism,
healing no matter what, Kenneth Copeland and speaking forth commands to control the weather.
I know the feeling being in charismatic meeting back in the 70's - 80's. It was like a drug to some.
I spoke at length to one missionary who wanted to recreate this heavenly experience and would do anything to get
back there, even denying the obvious sin of Todd Bentley. So whatever people are talking about, it is like a drug
addiction. The fruits of these altered states speaks more about the emptiness of peoples spiritual lives than the
wonderful nature of them knowing God.
Spiritual laughter. Quote anywhere is scripture that laughter is anything but absurdity and contradiction.
I have laughed without control, at the absurdity of a missionary couple travelling all the way to africa to bring
back photographs of the plants they saw and having a special church meeting about this.
Equally with my children they have said something that are so absurd I would roll around unable to stop laughing.
Blessed are you who are poor, for yours is the kingdom of God.
Blessed are you who hunger now, for you will be satisfied.
Blessed are you who weep now, for you will laugh.
Blessed are you when men hate you, when they exclude you and insult you and reject your name as evil, because of the Son of Man.
Luke 6:20-22
