Col 2:6 So then, just as you have received the Messiah Jesus the Lord, continue to live dependent on him.

Col 2:7 For you have been rooted in him and are being built up and strengthened in the faith, just as you were taught, while you continue to be thankful.

Col 2:8 See to it that no one enslaves you through philosophy and empty deceit according to human tradition, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to the Messiah,

Col 2:9 because all the essence of deity inhabits him in bodily form.

Col 2:10 And you have been filled by him, who is the head of every ruler and authority.

Col 2:11 In union with him you were also circumcised with a circumcision performed without human hands by stripping off the corrupt nature by the circumcision performed by the Messiah.

Col 2:12 When you were buried with the Messiah in baptism, you were also raised with him through faith in the power of God, who raised him from the dead.

Col 2:13 Even when you were dead because of your offenses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made you alive with him when he forgave us all of our offenses,

Col 2:14 having erased the charges that were brought against us, along with their obligations that were hostile to us. He took those charges away when he nailed them to the cross.

Col 2:15 And when he had disarmed the rulers and the authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in the cross.
This is how I fight my battles! Totally love that song!

You say if the Prodigal died in the hogpen the father would then bring him home????

Why didnt the father go to the hogpen and bring him home while he was alive?

Well i guess he could have removed his sons free will? Are you saying you would not go get your son?

What kind of father would let their son die and then go get him?
The kind of father who loves his son, should his father have made him prisoner? You are supporting calvinism with this line of reasoning

Jesus said the son was lost....and dead
He was, but he was still his fathers som, he had his fathers dna and blood flowing through his veins, you can not take that away, no one can.
This boy had to make the choice to go back to the father house just like every backslider must do
Well he did, god also blessed him and allowed him to live long enouh to do it, but if the child died before then, the father would have done what fathers do.

I am not sure you have defined your meaning of perfection.
How are we failing to live by your view?
Perfection = no sin, zero zip nana,

if you commit even the smallest of all sins, you dead, cursed, have no hope apart from grace, you asking god to,fogive you a millions times will not help. You have to recieve his grace gift, where he said he will go ve you eternal life, if you do not have it, your doomed

EG.....Did you not read this part of the post

Our sins were not remitted at Calvary. They were remitted at conversion

if all your sins.....even future sins were clean forgiven over 2000 yrs ago at Calvary.......how could we be born into this world sinners? Would we not be born already free from the power of sin if your logic is correct?

we repent and become born again........at conversion
And that changes anything

Lets say your right, and they are remmited and conversion, you better hope you never sin again, because once you do, your done. There is no more conversion.

Jesus paid for my personal sin on the cross, my unforgivable sin was stopped the moment of my conversion (unbelief).

Again, unbelief is the cause of damnation, not sin, jesus payed it all.

Why are there 613 different laws in the Torah?
In your book there appear to be perfection and you failed.

Do you see there is a difference in approach between your description and Gods?

Its like someone saying driving a car is just sitting in the driving seat and walking away.
I suppose if you always sit in the passenger seat and the driver always drives you, that is
all you need to know. But I would suggest God gave the bible so that we might know and
understand, in truth and liberty and actually drive the car.

You might notice Jesus called us to be yoked to Him, so we equally pull the load, not just sit
in the cart while He pulled us along.
The penanlty of sin is death

Jesus will not take your excuses when you stand in front of him, you either sins have either been atoned by blood through faith, or you will die in your sin.

He choice is up to you

I dont, I have never said no such thing

Sin is as dark as a thousand midnights. Just look at the cross and you will see what God thinks of sin

When I sin.....I'm convicted.....conviction always points me to the cross and says "if you confess your sins, He is faithful and just to forgive".

Praise God he does!!!?
No, he does not mock himself, he promised you eternal life the moment you believed, and with that many promises,

Your trying to earn salvatin by your own power and not relying on God who saved you

I confess my sin too, and while i do it, i thank God for forgiving me, otherwise, i woupd have no hope. Because there is no way possible i can remember every sin to confess them.

You are not yoked to Jesus or listen to Him.
However you put your concepts, they do not address the issue.

You are like the vegan who cannot kill any living thing forgetting the body kills bacteria every day.
You define sin in such a general way, it is meaningless.

If you are not yoked to Jesus or listen to Him, why will He forgive you when you meet face to face?

It seems you do not believe Jesus called us to learn from Him and be yoked to Him at all.
This also means you are not yoked to Him, taught by Him or following His way.

If you will not listen to Jesus, why would you listen to me.
I am yoked to him

He is my guide, my tutor my example, my seal, my savior, my teacher my redeemer.

And he is also my strength.

Your not listening to jesus, and you have not changed a bit.

Jesus calls us to take His yoke upon us.
Who is calling us? Jesus, our Lord and Saviour. He calls us to what? To learn from Him.

So this has been called legalism, slavery and being condemned.

Who are we meant to learn from if not Jesus? Who is our example if not Jesus?
Is not Paul calling to follow Jesus's example, and Peter saying we have to walk like Jesus.

What a sad day, when someone claims salvation is not listening to and learning from Jesus.
What defines His Sheep

My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.
John 10:27

To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps.
1 Peter 2:21

Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ.
1 Cor 11:1
You can not take his yoke unless your saved first,

Your trying to put the cart before the horse, shame shame

I am forgiven, redeemed and purified in Jesus. I have been saved from death and walk in eternal life in Him.
What else do I need?

Then why are you preaching you can lose salvation?

Is your faith in God as you claim, or yourself and your abolity to not fall?

I have perfection in Jesus. If I sin what does the bible say

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
1 John 1:9

So when we find we have sinned, we confess it and accept the forgiveness we have in Christ.
This is the walk of perfection. It is why we have the temple example, so that if we fail in the struggles we have
a way through and out. Paul described this as a walk of glory

And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord's glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit
2 Cor 3:18

I hope that all His people experience this more and more as they learn to follow and obey His saving word.

But it seems others believe the very walk of glory is not the walk of salvation. Obviously they do not know this walk
or else they would not condemn it so.

I noticed you convienantly used only portions of what I said, let me show you the danger of this:

Suppose you quoted me as saying "hey everyone did you know BUDMAN beats his wife at least twice a week......"

When what I really said was "hey everyone did know that BUDMAN beats his wife at least twice a week at checkers"

Makes a big difference, no?
I'm not going to waste space by quoting the posts in their entirety. It's why I included the post numbers so anyone can go back and read them all if they wish. They will quickly see what I posted in correct about you.

Is your faith in God as you claim, or yourself and your abolity to not fall?
Am I in Jesus and walking with Him or in your doubting house, looking at conditions which exclude me from the reality of Jesus?

Jesus says He will keep me safe, so I rejoice in this. Because He is my foundation, I cannot say what I would be without Him except lost. I know if I deny Him and walk away I have no hope, but why would I and what would deny me from His fellowship?

Is this the salvation you claim I say can be lost? I think you are talking about a different salvation that you may have, but I doubt I really know what you are talking about or that I am interested.

If Jesus has you, then how can one ever fall? But if you doubt this reality, the promise is often all one has as reassurance.
What is better? Reality or reassurance?

I do not know what all you believe, but I agree with the lines above: Redeemed, saved from sin and then walking with my Lord and Saviour! -- that is all I need!

"Aim at perfection" what a great fulfilment of the gospel.

Also I do not lie

The only woman I lust after is my wife!
Doesn't matter. The point I was trying to make is any sin not atoned for, it would require Jesus coming back and shedding more blood for those sins. Which is what makes this....

The fact that all of our sins were in the future at the time of Christ's atonement is totally immaterial.
.....ridiculous. What becomes of people born in the future? Are their sins already paid for or not? Does their pardon await the moment they believe? If not, Jesus has got to come back and die again. When Jesus died for the sins of the whole world (1 John 2:2) was that the sins of only the people of the world at that time - or for all time?

If forgiveness of sins is available to everyone in the future, then those sins have already been paid for. Because without the shedding of blood, there is NO remission of sins.

Is Jesus coming back to shed more blood?

Which brings us to this nonsense...

Our sins were not forgiven at the time of Christ's death. We were not justified when He said, "It is finished."
"He has now reconciled in his body of flesh by his death, in order to present you holy and blameless and above reproach before Him." (Colossians 1:22)

The fact you claim to be a pastor makes me sad for your congregation.

Your salvation is dependent on YOUR walk.
You should learn this....

Galatians 5:16
But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh.
Which brings me back to my original question to you, Fran; Do you still sin? If so, you are indeed carrying out the desires of your flesh.

Are you a slave of God or a slave of satan?
How many times a day do you sin, Fran? At what number does it make you a slave?

And you should learn this: "Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us;" (Titus 3:5)

Saved (past tense) by His mercy without works, and yet you claim now we have to continue to "earn" it by our works?
