Back to the OP. Popularity - is it even Christian? Do you find anywhere in the Bible, the early church fathers, where anyone worried about being popular? Do you find it anywhere in the writings any theologian, Catholic or Protestant since the 4th century to the present? For that matter, where is popularity extolled?

This is something the media has done. It makes people put popularity above ethics, integrity, honesty, kindness, compassion, etc. People strive to be popular, instead of serving God, and being changed and transformed in character.

Ok, I think, and always have, even as a teenager, the popularity is probably the most shallow thing you could dwell on. How about this instead?

"Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things." Phil. 4:8.

I'm prob'ly the oldest member in this thread. :sneaky: But I don't feel unpopular. I feel loved & accepted by my brothers & sisters here. When I first joined this site years ago, it took a little work to get acquainted with other members, to learn about each other's personalities. Now I have life-long friends from CC and even got an awesome daughter-in-law out of the deal. :giggle:

Popularity is overrated, it’s something societal culture said we must be, look , act and think in order for people to accept and like us. That’s why I don’t like to post on Facebook because we are always looking for that next like in hopes of gaining more “popularity” and in turn can bring out a little narcissism which is not the greatest attribute among people. Just remember we don’t need to impress everyone, just please One, our Dear Lord! God bless all of you!

I believe that you are kind of popular too. You are certainly in interesting man and I appreciate the candor that you display in your posts and your forum decorum. Most refreshing.
Thank you friend, it is all what The Lord directs me to write. I clear my brain and boom it comes out.

To he in tune with The Spirit is to he in tune with your heart.

Lol yep it just now happened see? Its awesom, God is working thru me for a service and i fully accept it with honor.

When i write devotionals it is all chicken scratch hardly anyone can rwad it but then i go back and rewrite it in normal hand and make modifications to God's Liking.

And trust me people im not boasting im just praising for real. It is very awesome!!

Below is a statment i wrote about how women should be treated.


Why do guys disrespect, and dog women from other countries, and even their own?





Let's examine this, shall we?





  1. Men hold these women to high sexual standards. God never said to be with a woman based on her looks. For God sais that what proceeds out of the mouth is what defiles the man because it is his heart. That is paraphrasing.
  2. A woman must always be respected, as God indended. Not as a sexual object and off to the next.
  3. Many women are beautiful, well dang ALL of them are. God placed women to be with us because He said, "it is NOT good for man to be alone." But to implicate that sex is everything is a very WRONG agenda. Why? Because sex is good yes, but between a man and woman who are what? MARRIED!! It has nothing to do with trying out the "hardware" before purchase. That my friends is very, very, very wrong.
  4. Women are held to a HIGH standard because of dog men. No not men with puppy ears, but men who are dogs. Look at the porn industry, see how women are portrayd? It is wrong! It puts women in a bad light and more prone to rapes.
  5. Women are the barrer of your children, WITH love, not sex. Sex is to be passionate, not wham, bam, thank you mam! And onto the next!
  6. Women are NOT sex toys. They want to be held, feel safe, and be secure in their man's arms. When you have a sex abuser who goes to the next 10 women, the very first one notices and usually turnes gay because of their huge broken hearts.

You may be thinking, this dude is crazy! Why not go have sex with alot of women, be a playa! Well, I am sorry that I do not fit in your standards. I refuse to even follow the "in" croud because the "in" croud is very wrong. You want happiness? You want true love? Stop being a player, allow that special woman see that you are that perfect match for her heart and look her deep in the eyes with your hand gently on her cheek saying, "you are beautiful, you are my life, my heart belongs to you, and i cherrish your love."

Yea i get my long post is in long forum but u know so what because God is not held down by boundaries of forum directors.

You see when you change a subject and focus on one simple topic after a long time of topics of the same thing it makes people think and i like making people think.

Another thing I've learned... we don't really know someone until we meet them in person. Sometimes reading people just via words or text or even on the phone can be challenging. Let go and let God.

I’m new so I don’t really know many or most of you here. I also tend to be on the quiet/private/shy side so yup I don’t feel overly popular. Not in a bad way.

Add to that the fact that of the Catholic faith. I’m not seeing very many Catholics here.

Catholic or not, I see you as a child of God. There won't be denominations in Heaven, but Jesus believing peeps who were chosen! :love:

Personally, I feel I need to be popular to be accepted...It's been that way ever since my school days.
I'm trying to work on it... :/
Admitting it is a step forward. Focus on the peace that passes understanding and the one who loves us so much He died on the cross! No greater love than that. That makes me feel popular and accepted!

Many think it is ok to push you aside. Expecially when they think that they are better than you. Sole even say you are not alloud in Hevean because you do no fit their lifestyle. However God is the one who approves people in Heaven not human beings. So why do people think theu can do this? Because they feel they own God and His creation.
This makes me think of one of my favorite verses... pride comes before the fall, but humility is the wisdom of God. Focus on the wisdom of God and we can't go wrong! :)
