Have any of you ever wondered what is that hallowed name?

Matthew 6:9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

It's the same name of the Father which will be written on believers foreheads.

Revelation 14:1 And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father's name written in their foreheads.

AS you have indicated, we really do not know our Father's name, and It is Holy.

According to Zephaniah also, come the Kingdom our Father is going to "return" to us a pure tongue (language) so we may all call on Him with one name.

This is not complicated, so do not shy off fromthe first word, linguistically, the word name as we know it today is not quite the same as it was originally. Today it seems to be just a labelel we put on people in order to distinguish one from another.

In the day it was a word or a group of words to describe hope-for attributes, prophecy of, or just akind title for each individual...…...not a simple label. It was you calling. I hope I have made som sense for you.

And Moses said unto God, Behold, when I come unto the children of Israel, and shall say unto them, The God of your fathers hath sent me unto you; and they shall say to me, What is his name? what shall I say unto them? And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you. (Exodus 3:13,14)

And Jesus said that He too was I AM. So we are back to the Mystery of God.

I AM.

We give names to people, places and things to identify them.
God needs no identity as he created everything, He is everything, even time
itself. There is no name as we probably can’t comprehend it. So for now
“God” will suffice.

Exodus 3:13-14 NKJV
[13] Then Moses said to God, "Indeed, when I come to the children of Israel and say to them, 'The God of your fathers has sent me to you,' and they say to me, 'What is His name?' what shall I say to them?" [14] And God said to Moses, "I AM WHO I AM." And He said, "Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, 'I AM has sent me to you.'"

Exodus 3:13-14 AMPC
[13] And Moses said to God, Behold, when I come to the Israelites and say to them, The God of your fathers has sent me to you, and they say to me, What is His name? What shall I say to them? [14] And God said to Moses, I AM WHO I AM and WHAT I AM, and I WILL BE WHAT I WILL BE; and He said, You shall say this to the Israelites: I AM has sent me to you!

We, as children of God call him 'abba' Father.

There are many names God has in the Bible.

Although at one time I thought maybe his name is Jesus if his son is named Jesus, wouldn't he be named after his Dad. Jesus junior. But thats just my thought.

Exdous 6:3 and I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob by the name of God Almighty, but by my name JEHOVAH was I not known to them

I Am:
From the Hebrew verb Hayah, or tobe.

This ver is transitive or active which simply means the person in reference, whichever person, is actively being.

Only God is capable of "Being."

Some scholars translate this as "Self-existing," whicch mayi be included in the meaning but the primary meaning, I have come tounderstand, is "I will be What I will be." Inotherwords I do what pleases me, and what pleases our Maker should please us all since He is Perfect and always Good.

Do not take my study as difinitive, but do take it seriously since I have bothered to red the Word in my basic Hebrew ablitiy and I did travel to Israel to learn more about the name, calling, I Am.

There is defiantly a real name because that name will be written on our foreheads.

Jehovah was another revelation of one of his names. Yet, I would say scriptures agree with your initial thought as Jesus came in the name of his Father.
John 5:43 KJV
[43] I am come in my Father's name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive.
John 12:28 KJV
[28] Father, glorify thy name. Then came there a voice from heaven, saying , I have both glorified it , and will glorify it again.
Jesus said he manifested the name of the Father.
John 17:6 KJV
[6] I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were, and thou gavest them me; and they have kept thy word.
Oh I just remembered a verse, it says Jesus inherited his name.
Hebrews 1:4 KJV
[4] Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.

Just throwing something out there for consideration. Do you think we will actually have God’s name written on foreheads, or could it be something declaring His ownership His Fathership.

I’m just thinking of title deeds to a house. They have written within them the owner of the house. In one sense those born again are protected and owned by God and are under His domaine.

Whereas those who don’t know God, their father is the devil.

Maybe that’s what it means when it says we will have His name. Rather than His literal name.

God does not have a name as you or I needed to distinquish one from another. His names, everyone are used to identify His immutable attributes .

His name is Jealous because he alone owns all things but His attribute of Love is not. God is Love.

His name is Holy in respect to the unseen Holy place of God not seen all . The Son of man, Jesus refused to fill that place when called good master as teacher . He replied only God (the father not seen is good) There will be no form standing in the Holy place called the abomination of desecration. God is not a man as us and neither is there any fleshly mediator that stands between God and man called a daysman.

Did you forget who is called the GOOD Shepherd? Or what about the way he answered when they asked him to show them the Father?

I would agree and add

I think name represents the unseen authority as a unseen seal of His approval . Below using green in that parable to indicate life of those sealed.

Revelation 9:4 And it was commanded them that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree; but only those men which have not the seal of God in their foreheads.

Thanks, No I did not forget. But we cannot come to the Sheppard of our souls unless we first learn from the Father, not seen .

No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me. Not that any man hath seen the Father, save he which is of God, he hath seen the FatherJohn6:44-46

We see the Father as he gives us the faith to make it possible to believe Him not seen. Just as with the Son of man Jesus our example.

You could say I believe the kind of food the disciples knew not of at first. We walk by faith the unsee . The meat of faith.

John 4:33-34 King James Version (KJV)Therefore said the disciples one to another, Hath any man brought him ought to eat?
Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.

He which is of God hath seen the Father. Your statement "We see the Father as he gives us the faith to make it possible to believe Him not seen" makes no sense at all. Jesus did not say the Father is invisible and cannot be seen, he said he that sees me hath seen the Father. I believe he is the image of the invisible God. Jesus is that unapproachable light and he came into the world but the world knew him not.

Take a look at this verse and see who brings us to the knowledge of the the Father.
1 John 5:20 And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.

1 John 5:20 And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.

God is not a man as us. He remains without mother or father beginning of Spirit life or end thereof and neither is there a fleshly mediator set between God not seen and man seen as a infallible umpire with the approval of both , called a daysman. when the Son of man was called master teacher he gave glory to the father unseen and said only God is good. Therefore reserving the Holy unseen place.

Yes he that see the work of the Son sees the father who gave it as food of the fathers invisible will.

John 4:33-35 King James Version (KJV) Therefore said the disciples one to another, Hath any man brought him ought to eat?
Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.

The wrath of God is revealed against those who would substitute the Son of man, Jesus "seen the temporal", in the place of the father who remains invisible (a non creation).

For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. Romans1:20-23

An image made like to corruptible man includes the Son of man, Jesus.

It would seem to apply to the verse you offered 1 John 5:20 And we know that the Son of God not seen not the Son of man seen is come, and hath given us an understanding of the father not seen ,

When we think of God we remove all images . God is not made in the likeness of man seen .

SO you do not believe God laid down his life for us, thereby perverting the true Gospel.
1 John 3:16 KJV
[16] Hereby perceive we the love of God , because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.
Now take a look at the words of the Almighty who died for our sins.
Revelation 1:18 KJV
[18] I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.
Son of God is not God?
Hebrews 1:8 KJV
[8] But unto the Son he saith , Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.

If you have not already done it a thousand times read Isaiah 9:6. Do not try to figure it out, just have faith and believe it until you have it in your heart as a rule.

When Moses asked God what His name is....God said "I AM"
When Jesus was asked if he was God..........Jesus said "I AM" Mark 14:52
