Yes, controlled LEGAL immigration is good, but uncontrolled ILLEGAL immigration is not. Legal immigration insures that persons are properly vetted (no serious criminal backgrounds or health issues) and that they actually have a decent chance of gainful employment.
Uncontrolled illegal immigration sidesteps these safeguards and pretty much insures that diseases such as small pox and polio that have all but been eradicated in North America will be brought back across our borders, insures that criminal elements will cross, and also insures that many of thos illegal immigrants will be taken advantage of either by sex trafficers or other unscrupulous persons.

Saw a show on NG that told how the Native Americans came either across the land bridge between Russia and Alaska....and migrated South...........for North America
and for South America they came by longboat canoes or some such from the Pacific Islands somewhere........

Here is my source, but several other sites, including a Jewish site, said the same thing.
"In 1974, Cass was in London where she was performing at the London Palladium to sold-out crowds. On the evening of July 29, 1974, after giving a spectacular performance, Cass tragically was the victim of a heart attack, which ended her life at the young age of 32. Many rumors circulated regarding her untimely death. These included a drug overdose, an FBI assassination plot, that she was pregnant with John Lennon’s child, and suicide. The most popular and resilient of these rumors was that she had choked to death while eating a ham sandwich.
The ham sandwich myth was fueled by the report of Dr. Anthony Greenburgh, the physician who first examined Cass after her death. Greenburgh reportedly told the Daily Express that “she appeared to have been eating a ham sandwich and drinking Coca-Cola while lying down—a very dangerous thing to do,” and continued, “she seemed to have choked on a ham sandwich.” He came to these conclusions from his first impression upon entering the scene, and he believed she died of asphyxia. Dr. Greenburgh completely overlooked the fact that the ham sandwich sitting on the table had not been touched.
The facts about Cass Elliot’s death were documented shortly after she died by Keith Simpson, one of Great Britain’s leading forensic pathologists at that time. The forensic autopsy showed there was “a heart problem leading to heart failure; there was no sandwich or any other item lodged in her throat or trachea; and she had had very little to eat the day before she died.” A routine drug screening showed no drugs were in her system. The cause of death was “heart failure due to fatty myocardial degeneration due to obesity.” That conclusion was controversial and disputed by American pathologists at that time. The theory exists that Cass had a cardiac conduction deficit. She frequently suffered fainting episodes that went unexplained."

An atheist actually disliked my remark above. Easier to thumbs down than to respect a woman and seek out the real reason she died. Thank God for Christian moral values that preclude us from smearing someone who is dead and can't fight against the lies odd fellows speak against them.

I couldn't find OnceFallen's post, but I will comment on it here. I agree they may be bringing diseases, especially viruses that have jumped the human/animal species barrier, like AIDS and Ebola.
But, they are not bringing small pox. It has been eradicated for years. In the whole world! (Although there may be a few in some secret lab in England I understand. Not sure why!)
Besides, I had the dreadful small pox vaccine as a child. You get a big pox on your arm, that leaves a scar, and you are really sick for days. If somehow small pox got out, I would be the one tending the sick, I guess! Sucks to be old!

(Not that I keep track of all the dysfunctional people here on CC.) You do seem to have some serious grudges. I hope you can learn to forgive people, even if they do not apologize. Because that is what God commands us to do.

Trudeau is doing the same thing in Canada. But, no one is falling for it anymore. He has crashed in the polls, achieving this all by himself. As for all those immigrants, hoping the fact they are not citizens mean they won't be able to vote for him in Oct. of next year. But who knows? If you need votes, you just change the rules, right?

The Democrat party enslaved the blacks after the Emancipation Proclamation. They enslave the illegals. They insure welfare carries across generations by rewarding unwed mothers with government monies, housing, and food. And take that all away if they marry.
The 2018 mid-term election was violated in at least 5 states by Democrat employees in the Office of Elections so as to insure they got the majority in the House. Whether they were actually lawfully elected or not, just so they could do everything in their power to further their agenda against the former Democrat turned Republican, president Donald J. Trump.
Democrats have always been an enemy of this country. And we'll all be paying for their party sedition and treason for decades to come.
