What is Your Favorite Part of the Thanksgiving Meal?

Hey Everyone,

This thread is just for fun, and was inspired by two recent comic strips.

After reading the second comic, I figured all that the family in the first comic needed to do was to get a specially-bred GMO turkey with at least 3 legs and then they'd only have to buy one turkey--problem solved!

So instead of just asking everyone what their favorite part of the turkey is, if you'll give me a few moments, I'm going to create poll in which people can share what they like best about Thanksgiving Dinner, and then tell us why in their posts.

Disclaimer: I know that this thread and its poll answers are shamefully American (I also know that I won't possibly be able to include EVERY food option out there for a holiday table), so this is a PRIME opportunity for all of our friends out there to tell us about a special meal or holiday that you might celebrate in YOUR country, family, or culture.

We would love to hear it all.

I am going to make the poll answers multiple choice (choose as many as you wish), and just for fun, I'm going to make it so that we can people's answers.

Now we'll know who's going to be arm-wrestling over those turkey drumsticks...

Remember, this is NOT a thread just about an "American" holiday or meal--it's a place for everyone to share and help us get to know a little more about you!

As for me, I'll meet y'all on over at the dessert table. I'll be taking two plates, just in case.

Hahaha the first comic was funny!! That's exactly what goes on with my family lol!

The really bad part is that I haven't seen a whole turkey on the table since I was a little kid, so when I read that first comic (where the dad gives away 3 drumsticks), I had to ask myself, "Wait a minute... How many legs DOES a turkey have anyway?"

For a brief moment... I almost had to try to remember if a turkey was a 2-footed--or a 4-footed--animal.

My favorite is when there’s ham instead of turkey. Watching football after is also great.

I am alone for Thanksgiving this year, so I am not aure what the pup and I will have yet.

The food is good - in my family the food is always good, as we have a lot of good cooks in my family - but my favorite part is when everybody is more stuffed than the turkey was, and we all sit around and talk for a while.

Anyways, now that I've recovered from witnessing your terribly heartless sin against humanity.. Sometimes my aunt makes this great authentic italian lasagna from the recipe of her mother-in-law who got it from her mother (both were italian and lived in Italy). It's always the best lasagna I've ever tasted.... and lasagna's my favorite dish!

If the lasagna's not there, then it would have to be the pecan pie.

Hey Pumpkin,

In the old system, it gave you about 40 poll options, but this new system only gives you about 12, so there just isn't room to include everything--that's why I just gave "The Meat" as being an option--and it gives people a chance to tell us what their favorite kind is, and why.

I had wanted to include "football" as an option (even though it's not something I'm into myself), but I either accidentally hit the "post" button too early or else ran out of poll options.
