Being empathetic is part of who we are as human beings. Without it, wouldn't compassion for others be hard to feel? You have to first have empathy to absorb what is happening to others around you, and then compassion comes in when you take action and help them in some way.

if we can empathy each other, we'd probably sense the sentiment that, this is a pretty good thread, from the beginning to now, and hopefully continuing, and hope that more thread exhibits the same "love" and "gentleness" as this thread

I think this could also be a part of a word of knowledge, as well. Think about it, when you gain information that you couldn't have even known, and the Lord highlights that something is wrong with a person. It can both be natural and supernatural. The Lord can make a person stick out to you, draw you to them, so that you can minister hope and encouragement to them.
Yeah, I was thinking that, could it be a gift of the HS?

Yeah, I def think so. Ty
So you have the verse...

Romans 12:6-8 King James Version (KJV)
6 Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith;
7 Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching;
8 Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness.

Its mentioned as a gift. :)

there was a "pagan" who claim to have empathetic abilities, and doctors have diagnosed that person as "hallucinations"

It isn't a silly question at all. It's a very good one, because a lot of people associate our natural God-given empathic nature with other beliefs that aren't Christian. I'm sure this is something that many people have wanted to ask before.

one time, a female (a Christian who claim to be "just spiritual") was about to go to court for DUI, and at that moment, believing for that moment that I'm capable of empathy, I prayed for her, I allowed empathy to "flow" and my prayer goes deep, and that female sensed it, and was very appreciative of me praying for her.

Alright, I'm convinced this place has some of the kindest peeps. Give me a hug. Thank you. I 100% agree with the God-given attributes being considered non Christian.

I guess it could be, but those seem very different. I guess one could think they are picking up on things but R not.

As long as you're walking in His will for your life, you can spare it. Its funny that God shows His generosity and providence in that the rewards that await you are all held up in the good deeds He prepared beforehand for you to walk in. So He provides not only the reward but also the deeds. :p

You might, but I think you will be fine, more, lots more other rewards i think are waiting for you, kind brother.
Jesus is kinder than we think,
no need to sweat over Matthew 6, till our sweat smear the ink off the bible, whew!
