Harvard Law School once boasted that Warren was the first woman of color to ever serve on their faculty. Woman of color. But Warren also used her fake Indian heritage to frame herself as somebody affected by America's sad history of racial discrimination. I was reading comments around the web and came across this one!

Watched HALLOWEEN 40 this morning with my son. It stars Jamie Lee Curtis as Laurie Strode and was produced by Jamie as well as by John Carpenter and Cody Carpenter. The screenplay/writing was Excellent! In a scene -- no spoilers! -- a boyfriend of Laurie's granddaughter tells her parents that he's "7% Cherokee". Someone in the audience yelled out: "That's still 7% more than Liz Warren!!" I live in a predominantly African-American neighborhood here in Southern Maryland, and the audience was packed with mostly African-American patrons - about 90%. This scene and reply brought a smile to my face.

why it should matter whether someone has Indian heritage or not.

As for the phrase “woman of colour” that’s just horrible.

We wouldn’t say woman of no colour, woman of pinky/beige/creamy.

whether they were descended from American Indians, regardless of their

In 20th century parlance "red skin" was politicized in order to further the agenda of the snowflake movement bent on curbing freedom to speak. And then employed as a means to vanquish a major corporate sports franchise copyright.
However, red skins didn't just appear as an identity out of thin air centuries ago. Dutch traders and others referred to tribal people as red skin due to the hue of our sin under the sun's blistering rays. Whereas European peoples were pale and tended to burn red, (sunburn), native people's skin was various shades of brown and often with a red hue. Hence, 'red skin'.

If red skin is a sensitive point for some whites, they may wish to use heavy sunscreen. Else they qualify for the label themselves.

In the case of Warren, when she claimed native ancestry for personal financial gain during her admissions process in higher education, she committed fraud on a government document. Because government grants are federal contracts.
Furthermore, as the AT article informs, a DNA test is no acceptable marker for native ancestry among the tribal council's of any north American tribe.
Blood Quantum, is a term that is often used for the purpose of tribal identity. That too is an abuse in many respects.
However, where Warren should be openly challenged in the media is to ask her to go forward to the tribal council she claims affiliation with and ask to see if her lineage is recorded in their books.
That's one way.

Some people, my grandparents are an example, did not have a birth certificate. They just didn't exist among the tribes. How then to prove the blood quantum feature? Or the registration in a council book set?

Warren prayerfully will be elected out of her office. As, in a perfect world, would be the case with Pelosi and Mad Maxine Waters.
Maybe with the ousting of the unholy three Congress can get back on the right track.

Thank you for your response, I can understand a person being proud of their
heritage, that’s a different matter.

It just seems bizarre in a modern world that race, skin colour etc, is such an
issue. There is only one race - the human race, yet still biggatry and “racism”
still prevail so strongly and/or are used to promote own agenders. It just
makes me wonder if people now are any different to those a couple of
100 years ago.

We have been to the moon, missions to Jupiter, missions to Mars talked about.
But the human race still can’t see past a person’s skin colour.
