That is not much compared to here (BC, Canada). I pay at least $100.00 a month for car insurance (Toyota Echo)! And I get a reduced rate because I am what is called a road star: no accidents :)

We have stickers we must apply to our license plate every year when we renew our insurance, but it does not cost us anything extra :)

Yeah, but those are preferable to mudslides, earthquakes and wildfires. :)
I've been in one earthquake a 6.9 I wasn't scared it was new to me. I don't live by the hills so no mudslides or wildfires..I guess that's why they tax everyone one for anything cause people want to live here, I was born in Santa Barbara so I would like to stay here but taxes are moving everyone out..I was thinking of moving to Texas or Utah as well.

Texas does not have a state income tax either but it does get hot there. My wife was in LAX waiting for a connection to Hawaii in 2008 and experienced a minor earthquake. I have been to Los Angeles twice but have yet to feel the ground tremble. Probably a good thing though.

You are being gouged by the state of California. No wonder though as this is the result of a liberal Dem tax policy. They tax everything and yet they themselves pay nothing. In the next few years there will be a mass exodus of companies that conduct business there so expect even higher taxes to support the liberal Dems social policies that very few actually benefit from. Personally, I would rather keep most of my hard earned income than giving it to the state to waste but perhaps that's just me.

It has been cloudy and rainy the last couple of days, but being on the Pacific coast, we have fairly moderate weather. It was really quite beautiful most of last week, over 20 one day! Today it was 16 Celsius as I was driving home (that is 61 Fahrenheit). Last winter it was colder than normal with lots of snow and a couple of weeks at least of minus 8 Celsius (17.6 Fahrenheit). But that is unusual :)
