If we were in the Old Testament days, I'm afraid we would have to stone ol' MoTC. So much inconsistency and false doctrine.
Post what is false with scriptures.[/QUOTE]

Nothing is wrong with Scriptures, Much is wrong with your misuse of them and your following a man such as Swaggart.

My Brother, we maintain Faith exclusively in Christ and Him Crucified the same way Jesus told Thomas, BELIEVE ONLY!
Maybe you are talking about progressive sanctification and If you are then we have been equipped by GOD created In JESUS unto good works and every man that has this hope In them purifies themselves even as they are pure.

So then In this context we would have to maintain faith to receive grace.

All works must be produced and birth by the Holy Spirit or it is dead works. The "Golden Bell and the Pomegranate" must bounce against each other or it is tingling cymbal and sounding brass. The Golden Bell = The Gift of the Spirit, and the Pomegranate = The Fruit of the Spirit (Exodus 28:34). We need both to be in operation.

Speculation and spiritualization. There is nothing in Scripture about this.

Certainly, the fruit of the Spirit should be evident in the believer's life. The gifts of the Spirit... not so much. Many otherwise good and faithful Christians don't operate in the gifts, and sadly, may not even believe they are available to the Church today.

This is what the LORD says: "Cursed are those who put their trust in mere humans, who rely on human strength and turn their hearts away from the LORD. Jeremiah 17:5 NLT

Revelation 1:6 says, "And hath made us kings and priests unto God and His Father; to Him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen. (1 Peter 2:9) (Exodus 19:6)

We need "The Golden Bells (The Baptism of the Holy Spirit and the gifts of the spirit) and the Pomegranates (The Fruit of the Holy Spirit that gives us victory over sin) Exodus 28:34 NIV. If you have two bells and no fruit bouncing against each other you have 1 Corinthians 13:1, clanging cymbals.

One without the other produces an inconsistency and it is a problem. To say you don't need both is doubt and unbelief which is never acceptable to God. The Bell presents the power and the Pomegranate presents relationship. You must have the development of both. These are two different works of the Holy Spirit; the fruits and the gifts. The Golden Bells and the Pomegranate is a TYPE.

Are we justified by Faith alone (Romans 5:1) or are we justified by works and not faith alone (James 2:24 NASB)? The answer is we justified by works and not faith alone (James 2:24 NASB)? For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. (Eph. 2:10). No love (fruit of the spirit) makes your Faith not genuine.

Faith placed exclusively in Christ and His Finished Work, i.e., The Cross, i.e., The Blood of Jesus, will always produce proper works by the Holy Spirit. This is the only Faith God will recognize. Anything and everything that is not of the Spirit is "dead faith." Lifeless Faith is profitless (rotten fruit). James 2:14-18

The Way Of The Spirit
Focus: The Lord Jesus Christ (John 14:6)
Object Of Faith: The Cross of Christ (Romans 6:1-14)
Power Source: The Holy Spirit (Romans 8:1-2, 11)
Results: Victory (Romans 6:14)

Man's Way
Focus: Works.
Object Of Faith: Performance.
Power Source: Self.
Results: Defeat!

The only way to God is through Jesus Christ (John 14:6)...the only way to Jesus Christ is by the Means of the Cross (Luke 14:27). The only way to the Cross is a denial of self (Luke 9:23). If any person tries to come any other way, Jesus says, "they are a thief and a robber" (John 10:1).

1. Jesus Christ is the source of all blessings.
2. The Cross is the means by which all blessings are given.
3. The object of our faith must be Christ and the Cross.
4. That being done, the Holy Spirit will greatly help us.

For progressive sanctification True but where does the pomegranate(the fruit of the Spirit)get Its faith, answer=from GOD,and like you said, how does a person maintain something that GOD has given them?

For we are HIS workmanship created In JESUS unto good works,In other words GOD has already equipped us to do good works and I think asking how do we maintain faith Is like asking, how does an apple tree make apples, does It strain to make them?

Are we justified by Faith alone (Romans 5:1) or are we justified by works and not faith alone (James 2:24 NASB)
How are we justified to GOD who looks at the heart?
How are we justified to man who looks at the outward appearance?

Wasn’t Abraham justified by GOD before he(Abraham)did any works?

When It comes to man Apostle James said to the men he was talking to,show me your faith without your works and I will show you my faith BY my works.

In other words man looks at the outward appearances and can’t show their faith without their physical works and needs to see physical action to know that what the person Is saying matches what they say they believe or else all they would discern Is that that person says they have faith but I don’t KNOW If they are In truth because I haven’t seen anything that looks true yet.

Hebrews chapter 4 in telling the Believer that we must enter into God's rest which is called SANCTIFYING PEACE. Failure to do so, the Believer will die (spiritual) in the wilderness. Most do!

There are two kinds of peace with God the Father:

1. Justifying Peace - This is Peace with God, a legal standing (Rom. 5:1, 8:7; Eph. 2:14-15).
2. Sanctifying Peace - This is the Peace of God in the heart (Rom. 8:6, 14:19, 15:13; Gal. 1:3; 1 Thess. 5:23).

The first is the result of a legal standing. The second is the result of the Work of the Holy Spirit. The first is static, never fluctuates, the second changes almost from hour to hour. The first, every Christian has, the second, every Christian may have.

Sanctifying peace allows the Holy Spirit to deliver the Believer into the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ, so that the life of Christ is manifested and lived through the Believer by the power of the Holy Spirit. This is a living sacrifice that is pleasing and acceptable to God (John 14:21, Rom. 8:2, 13; 2 Cor. 4:11; Gal. 2:20-21).

The LORD shall fight for you, and you shall hold your peace (Exodus 14:14). "In Justification, the Lord fights 'for' us, and in Sanctification, He fights 'in' us."

SANCTIFYING PEACE = The LORD's REST / ONLY A FEW FINDING IT (Matthew 7:13-14)

Question for all? How do we enter into His rest?

Why would the believer justify himself before man? Man is not capable of making such a judgment. Justification under the New Testament comes from the faith of Jesus Christ. We are justified by His faith, not our own faith. Christ's faith was demonstrated by His obedient life unto the Father, even unto the death of the cross. The righteousness of God is through the faith of Jesus Christ.

Romans 3
21 But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;
22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:

James 1:1 James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad, greeting.

Are you part of the twelve tribes? Which one? In Christ, there is no Jew or Greek. Why does James make the distinction? Things that make you go hmmmmmm? (And please, don't mention the "diaspora" of Acts 8. That's not the answer.)

What do I know if I am walking after the flesh or walking after the Spirit?

How do I walk after the Spirit?

What happens if I continue to walk after the flesh?
LOve the Lord thy God with "all" is walking after the Spirit. The flesh does not know love. The flesh is self-pleasing, unruly, no self-control, unforgiving, hateful, perverted, and hates God.

What do I know if I am walking after the flesh or walking after the Spirit?
Walking (understanding God ) after the flesh gives way to the desires of the flesh according to the two avenues of the fathers of lies that produce false pride, as that which comes before our fall if we deny him in unbelief (no faith).

For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.1 John 2:16

How do I walk after the Spirit?
To walk after the Spirit we walk by faith, the unseen eternal, and therefore not after the temprol things of this world the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes. When we walk by faith we know we are following after our humbled new spirt that will never die

For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.2 Corinthians 4:16-18

Keep looking up.

What happens if I continue to walk after the flesh?
Then you will continue to do the desires of the god of this world.

We love him because we can keep his commandments, our first experience of His love

I know what you are saying but the question being answered in James is "Can faith save him?" The question is not, "will works follow faith?" Commentaries miss the boat on that one.

:)I'm thinking that you jumped Into the discussion abruptly,me and messege of the CROSS were discussing "how Is faith maintained"and I was telling him that

he must be talking about our walk"progressive sanctification"" good works"because If a man has faith which Is a fruit of the Spirit that Is received by the believer who receives sustenance from the true vine,

why then would that man have to maintain his faith unless messenge of the CROSS was talking about good works which Is done by Grace through faith.

The Holy Spirit keeps all commandments for the Believer by delivering us into the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ our Lord when our Faith is placed and maintained exclusively in Christ and the Cross of Calvary where the victory was won. That is why it is called the Law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus (Rom. 8:2). Jesus said, "let him deny himself, and take up his cross.

Question? How do I deny myself and take up my cross daily so that the I (Believer) my receive all the benefits of this resurrection life (Luke 9:23)?

It's the work of Christ's faith as a labor of His love that works in us to both will and do His good pleasure (imputed righteousness) The work of our faithful Creator, our new born again eternal faith.. Not of our own selves as in self righteousness.
