Hello Everyone.
So, how bad do you have to be for God to have a reprobate mind about you? I did something very bad in my church. All for love. My live has NEVER been the same since. I once was so so close with God. I'd get up every morning, early, to spend time with Him, and pray. I taught Sunday school, was an intercessor in the church, on the prayer team, and the treasurer of the church. But then I gave into sin, and now I am on the other side of the spectrum, so far away from God. I try to read the bible, but all I can think is how can I ask God for ANYTHING after what I did. How can He love me or want me still???
I am really needing prayer and guidance, but I don't know where to turn.

It's really difficult to give answers without knowing what you did, and perhaps why. Some people make big things out of small things. But giving specifics is not required.
I think the single most important thing people need going to God is sincerity. If you are sincere when going to God He will respond.
When you were first saved you were undeserving as well, so don't let that stop you.
And rather than focusing on a "reprobate mind" why not focus on the prodigal son?

If we read more in Romans about God turning them over to reprobate minds, yo will discover it was only to those who did not have our Father in mind, that is, they did not and would not think to give God any glory or praise for all His bounty.

Just as later when talking about that spirit of delusion in Thessalonians. It was given to all who loved evil (past tense, already chose evil) and not to those who love good and seek it.......so it is the evil doers of teh world who believe lies........those who love good can only be deceived for a time before they come back around, never worry, our Father is always good, amen.

Salvation is not about us being worthy..

If we link our confidence in salvation to our feelings of worthiness then we are like a ship that has placed it's anchor within it's own hold thinking that will keep us safe from the rocks... We need to but our anchor into the bed Rock of the LORD Jesus Christ and know that we are saved because we trust that He is worthy.. And that He saves people who trust in Him regardless of how unworthy they are..

So believing that through Jesus we have forgiveness we need to take the second step and forgive ourselves.. That way we can put our stuff ups behind us more on again and be of more worth to God in His continuing ministry to Redeem other people..

So when we fall down we need to get back up brush ourselves off acknowledge our error to God, thank him for the Atonement He secured for us and move on.. Wallowing in our error for days or weeks or years just undermines our usefulness to the LORD..

Firstly, if you haven't already confessed your sin to God and asked for forgiveness, do so, knowing that: "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness...the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin." 1John 1v7,9 with Titus 2v4.

Also, once under the Blood of Christ, if God does not remember your sin and lawless deeds, why should you! Heb 8v12: "For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more."

So, when the Accuser comes along and starts reminding you off them, don't start agreeing with him, reject any thoughts that would state otherwise, also, forgive yourself.

Get close to Jesus by prayer, worship and praise, you can find a blog Here that I did on prayer.

Also fellowship with Christians who are godly, spiritual and prayerful and get them to support you in prayer.

Make sure you are attending a living Church, i.e., one where you feeling the Presence of the Trinity during a service. Heb 10v25.

Don't give up! Heb 10v35.

There are many ways to serve God besides all of the church activities that you mentioned so not doing these type of things anymore does not make you appear reprobate in the eyes of God. You did not mentioned what you did that was very bad in church but just let that go and learn from your mistakes.

Perhaps you had what you considered a reprobate mind yesterday but today is a new day and God allows you to start with a clean slate each day. Continue to read your bible, pray and contemplate on who to apply what the Holy Spirit has taught you in your ordinary everyday life You have already turned to God so there is no where else to turn.

In the book of John it says that God is love. Also in the bible Jesus says "Ask and you shall receive, seek and you shall find, knock and the door will be open for you". My counsel is to go with that flow.

Stumbling into sin does not necessarily make you reprobate but rather human. Ask for forgiveness and proceed boldly forward with confidence knowing that God loves you for who you and forgives you for when you sin, that His desire for you is for you to have life and to have it more abundantly. Today when you hear his voice harden not your heart while it is still called Today.

Today is a new day.

GRACE! God knew what you'd do before you were born. Jesus allowed himself to be sacrificed for you any way. Ask for forgiveness and Repent. The doubts that you have may be coming from your own mind or they may be coming from a spiritual enemy. Just remember where sin abounds grace also abounds and jesus said my grace is suficent for thee.

Something to keep in mind when considering the teaching of a reprobagte mind in Romans.

If you have God in mind and heart, you cannot be such.......impossible. Tourist has described God's love in this area quite well...........all blessings in Jesus.

THank you for your reply.
The pastor said I would be of a reprobate mind to God for my sins. My sins were/are too great for God to forgive.

It takes a LOT of sin for that. You basically have to actively push forward to sin and reject everything about God.
But there's always the religious doom and gloomers that want the world in fear and guilt.

No one who is concerned about his or her statusinthe sight of God is reprobate.......only those who co not think in terms of pleasing God, those who have chosen evil over good, those who actively follow Satan, those who have chosen never to be with God.

I know how that confident is, and so do all who believe God for the enemy has temporarily deceived almost all of us........do not be deceived, God loves YOU, and he wants all who want to love Him.... We are not perfect, Jesus is for us......trust and believe and you will make a giant leap......no, you are asking about it, so you cannot be reprobate.....you are just fine in the family of God, amen.

So, here is what I did...
I was lonely... for YEARS I lived alone, not mairreid, no kids, family was all out of state. This one lady in the church got sick, and I saw how everyone loved her even more so; so the lie was planted-if I lied and said I was sick, so I could have the same love. Then I acted on the lie, and it destroyed my life. I did lie, and made up false documents saying so. But then my heart was overwhelmed with grief for what I had done. I asked God to forgvie me and pleaded that someone would find me out. So, someone did. I was immedietly ostrosized from my church of 12 years. And I have been spiritually lost everysince. This happened in 2011. So, how can it not be true that I am of a reprobate mind to God now? What I did was HORRIBLE!!! I hurt so many, and I gave all I had just to be loved. What an idiot I was!

I don't think you understand what a reprobate mind is, and neither does your Pastor.

A reprobate mind is a conscience that has been seared to the point that it no longer feels remorse or regret for committing sin.

By the very fact that you are here and upset about your sin PROVES that you aren't a reprobate.

Satan is the one that is keeping you in fear. Your Heavenly Father is patiently waiting for His boy to come running back to His warm embrace. He loves you.

Today, I was just looking at Matt13:15 in reference the purpose of Jesus' parables and the referral to Isaiah 6:10 prophecy...For this people's heart has grown callous, they hardly hear with their eyes, and they have closed their eyes. Otherwise they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts, and turn, and I would heal them." Seems to me that it is not you that is the callous, unhearing, unseeing, and devoid of understanding one between you and your pastor. Verse 16 says, "Blessed are your eyes because they see, and your ears because they hear." Nevertheless, even if you were, you can turn back to Him, as He says, right there, that He will heal you.

While Jesus Christ was on His earth it was not for all to understand what He taught in "dark sayings and parables," but He did elaborate for the Twelve............

Aftr He ascended He sent His Holy Spirit to reveal all necessary for the Twelve and all necessary for any who believe., That is believe Jesus Christ.

Unhappily, many yet who claim to be in the Body of Jesus, Yeshua, do not understand all. For many, it is simply not yet time, their time, and for many they simply do not believe and have chosen evil over good, that is, this creation over the Creator.

Do not judge when others do not understand implicitely what you know to be true by the Hoy Spirit for only our Father knows the hearts of men. As always if we expect mercy, we must show mercy to all.

My heart is filled with sorrow, deep remorse, and constant aguish and deep regret over my sin; the regret of what I had done fills me DAILY. I have just now began to listen to christian music without extreme pain! And still, often, I have to turn it off because its too painful to think God would have anything to do with me, after I betrayed Him! How could I have been so selfish and foolish! All just to feel loved. I cannot comprehend how God would want me back; how He would desire me, or even rain down His compassion and mercy on me, who CHOSE sin! I knew what I was doing! I loved God with almost everything in me; accept i was still so deeply lacking in feeling loved. And that blinded me, took my memory of how much God once loved me. Submurged in my sin, I forgot the most beautiful love that I had, God's love.
Perhaps, this could be just a glimps of how Adom and Eve felt after they sinned. I try to believe again, but hearing the words of that pastor over and over again, keeps bringing me back to the belief that I am a nothing, and I must be a waste to God.
How Can it be! Song by Laura Daigle

I dare not look to God. How could I? How could I fade the one that I was once so in love with???
