Here is what he said in post #137, in response to your post asking if he was joking.. I think you misunderstood him somewhere along the line...

Originally quoted by calibob: I was. I have no faith that God will ever put a woman in my path that I will ever marry. So It's a moot point but it started of as a question to me from jewel about what I would or wouldn't do. As a man. I made no biblical references. I was kicked out of a church because my bi-polar wife devorced me because she was unhappy and to them being divorced was equal to adultery and they didn't tolerate divorced men or adulterers in their midst. According to them I was going to hell for not saving my doomed marriage. She turned lesbo! I take marriage deadly serious. It's supposed to be a contract for life. You can't find a scripture that says it's ok for me to marry again, however if I did I'm sure his grace would abound. I've been divorced 34 years and haven't remarried, have no prospects and frankly don't care any more.

The car or Bentley, was a metaphor for a woman.
Irregardless.

My point is, he thinks marriage is supposed to be a lifelong, irrevokable contract, much like buying a car is... Nobody goes and buys a new car until the old one dies or is irreparable.

Oncefallen was accurate. BDF has come to the singles forum. This thread will go on and on and on because nobody wants to let anybody else have the last word.
No worries lynx..it wasnt a biblical disagreement it was a morals one on my part..weve both moved on but there have been others early on in this thread that had disagreements to..involving wisebeard? Bound to happen in any forum ;)

God didn't say anything about not being able to trade in your car.

Also "Irregardless" is not a real word. Also if it were a word it would be a double negative.
