Do ‘looks’ in the opposite sex matter to you?

I know this subject might be a little sensitive for some, and I do apologise but I couldn’t help but ask the question:

Do looks matter when pursuing or getting to know someone on a deeper romantic level - whether it’s online, in real life, on text, phone etc.

In all honesty, I think I’ve read comments mostly by females on CC state that “looks do not matter” in the opposite sex.

Obviously I don’t know what goes on in a mind of a male - but what about you? (Points at the brothers in here).

As a whole, male or female, do you think attraction in the opposite sex should matter? And this includes all forms of potential relationships in real life, online, on phone/text etc.

Personally, looks don’t matter for me as I’d rather fall for a man who’s godly attributes reflect from the inside out. My attraction is in a man who is pursuing God’s heart first.

If you have any experiences around this subject, feel free to share :)

Looks definitely matter to me. The problem in saying so is people tend to hear "I only want to date models" despite that not being what I said.
Physical attraction is entirely subjective. Even with the most attractive people in the world there will be people that just don't see it.

Neither did I say looks are most important. I want to be attracted to a woman for All parts of her. Inside and out. And it's an entirely acceptable mentality.
The idea of looks being irrelevant isn't biblical. If we look at Song of Solomon there's references to physical beauty as well as internal. And before anyone argues with me about the meaning of SoS it doesn't change my point whether its literal or not.

So yeah, I have to look at a woman and like what I see. According to my personal standards.

Yes they do, and im tired of people denying it.....the first thing a person normally sees is the opposite gender's looks unless they use the internet to mask themselves first.... by using no picture or a fake picture of someone else.....

Of course I will get the "you are so young", "that's so shallow yada yada" and get attacked with write offs...bring em on!

If you are in a relationship with someone you dont find attractive on the outside or inside then your probably in one for either a financial reason, a social status reason, or something else....but when you are attracted to someone you care for them and love them more than when your just "stuck" with someone else.....who does not pique your interests......

It does partially matter to me. If a guy has a stomache where he can barely see his feet...or generlly... heck naw not my case
I just cant stand if someone is ...uhm overweight. He doesnt have to be a model but normal.
It doesnt matter which color or so..but gotta be clean and respectful.

Noone can tell me that looks dont matter at all. Everyone has something that they dislike

"Looks" can cover a lot of territory. Before I can give any real answer to "Do 'looks' matter to YOU?" we would have to narrow it down.

Are we talking about the look of the face? How friendly the face looks, how intelligent or not, whether the person looks focused or confident, use of makeup?

Are we talking about the body? Posture, fat or skinny, size of breasts, contour of hips?

Are we talking about age? Wrinkles, crow's-feet around the eyes, or lack thereof?

Are we talking about motion? How the person walks, agility, poise, amount of energy displayed?

The reason I ask is because some aspects of "looks" are very useful as they give information about the person's character. Some "looks" are very important to me. Others are negligible enough that I don't pay them any conscious attention. But I am not sure which "looks" we are discussing here.

I never considered my self good looking. I don't even like to look at myself so my judgement of someone by looks dosn't seem valid. As lomg as I don't find them repulsive it's good enough for me and to be honest I'd rather be with a smart assertive woman hands down than a beautiful one.

I think everyone wants someone they personally find attractive. Inside and out. Like ugly said, that doesn't mean modle status... different people like different things.

Lol..i think if everyone is HONEST they would ALL say that looks matter to SOME extent..its just the "extent" that it is...i think for men..it seem that looks ARE more important than with a woman..differences between the sexes? Maybe..but if we are to be "new creatures" through Christ..this SHOULD affect our "vision" as well and how we look for/at a potential mate...looks are FLEETING peeps :)

I supose you'd have to know their real name to begin with. I think most peeps are on facebook since it comes with every cell phone and lap top now days. I have 3 accounts with them and one I can't open because the email act was closed and renamed
