Why so much confusion about salvation?

That's because you only accept the Word of God in part and you reject the parts that don't suit you.
We need to accept the whole counsel of God, I know many things are harsh and we wish they weren't there but that's because we have a fallen nature which doesn't like the things of God. in general.
There are around 38,000 Christian religions, all claiming to be the right one. So we should let every man be a liar and let god be true
He leads them to Christ and illuminates their heart to believe into righteousness, then confess and be saved.
I take it you also believe that salvation is all by Gods work and we didn't do anything to deserve salvation while we were living as unsaved worldly people.
I remember enjoying life, using drugs and alcohol. Living only for pleasure and doing anything that felt good. My attitude was if it feels good do it. I was having too much fun to consider giving my life to the lord, the thought turned me off because I thought that Christians live a boring life so I wasn't interested in becoming a Christian at all.
God had to change me from the inside before I could even consider repenting and asking for forgiveness of sins and taking up my cross and following Christ.
God transformed me, I didn't do anything to earn or deserve salvation. God opened my spiritual eyes and I saw that I was a sinner who needed to be forgiven. When I realized that, I got on my knees and asked Jesus to forgive me and come into my heart and my life changed from that moment.
So I have nothing to boast about, God did it all. I just believed in what he promised to do

Well you failed to ignore my warning about being arrogant, and have instead become self righteous, thinking you know it all,
I hate to tell you dude, but this exact line of reasoning can be used against you also, thus it is just a strawman and does not support your view, and just makes you look proud.
I pray you can repent like some of your bretheryn whome i have cut off all conversations with because of their self righteous attitude.
I do accept the whole councel, and you and others have not shown me otherwise, and again, this strawman argument can be used against you, but i would rather discuss openly and not judge you.as your doing me.

god used the situations in my life, and the people he surrounded me with, and the holy spirits leading when I finally started to seek, in order to find, and god kept his promise

No I don't believe that it is all GOD's work. Those who don't respond to and learn from the father's teaching through the holy spirit are not led to Christ. That has nothing to do with deserving or earning salvation. So there is something that we who are saved do, that those who are not saved don't do.
It is written in the prophets, ‘And they will all be taught by God.’ Everyone who hears from the Father and learns comes to me. John 6:45
OK, so you don't believe what the Bible says. You would rather make up your own truth. The Bible says that salvation is of the Lord and not by works lest any man should boast, but you say it's by your work.
Can I just ask you in passing, how does a person come to believe. Is it because he's smarter than the next guy who doesn't believe or is it something else
You should really stop saying things like that... You're just alienating yourself.
Salvation is by faith in Jesus Christ, and not by works. The Bible does not say that faith is a gift, it says that salvation is the gift, and we receive that gift by faith (trust), which anyone can choose to do (once they've heard the gospel).

well this is the seeming straw man alot of Calvinist like to push to force their view. But this is NOT reality. .nor have I heard any non calvinist even insinuate this to be true.
Have you read anything I have posted? I have shared it quite a few times, as also have many others.
I will say this, 2 people can recieve the same word, receive the same knowledge, and be offered the same hope. 1 person can say yes lord, I recieve it, The other can say no lord, I am not ready, I have to much fun to have yet.. Let me live my life.

No, I don't believe your interpretation. Salvation is of the lord, but if you don't meet his conditions you don't receive it. Nothing to boast in about that. That's just foolishness.

Did you really read what I posted? Because I answered your question about was I smarter than others in this post. Since you liked it, did you see what I said about HOW I came to faith?
I ask, because I am just curious if you saw what I said, all of it.
It's called free will.... The CHOICE to decide whether to believe the gospel or not.
