Exactly, the Gospel Paul preached was the Gospel of the kingdom, that Jesus taught Him.
Hmm.. if that's true, then where did
Paul say, "repent for the kingdom of heaven is at hand?" John the Baptist said it in Matthew 3:2 and Jesus said it in Matthew 4:17, yet in Galatians 1:11-12, we read that the gospel which was preached by Paul is not according to man and neither did he receive it from man, nor what he taught, but it came
through the revelation of Jesus Christ. We also read in Ephesians 3:1-9, that the
dispensation of the grace of God was given to Paul and by revelation Jesus made know to Paul the
mystery of Christ,
which in other ages was not made known to the sons of men, as it has now been revealed by the Spirit to His holy apostles and prophets -- that the Gentiles should be fellow heirs, of the same body, and partakers of His promise in Christ through the gospel which Paul became a minister according to the gift of the grace of God to make all see what is the fellowship of the
mystery, which from the beginning of the ages has been hidden in God.. *Now show me where John the Baptist and the 12 disciples were preaching this mystery BEFORE the cross.
That was not part of the gospel which the twelve, John the Baptist, and Jesus were preaching before the cross. Yet, they were still preaching
the gospel of the kingdom to Israel.
Jesus Christ sent the twelve to preach
only to Israel. Matthew 10:5 - These twelve Jesus sent out and commanded them, saying:
“Do not go into the way of the Gentiles, and do not enter a city of the Samaritans. 6 But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. 7 And as you go, preach, saying,
‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’ The disciples were specifically told to go
only to the people of Israel, and they were
not preaching anything about the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ or that the Gentiles should be fellow heirs, of the same body, and partakers of His promise in Christ through the gospel.
In Matthew 16:15, Jesus Christ asked His disciples, “But who do you say that I am?” 16 Simon Peter answered and said,
“You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” 17 Jesus answered and said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven.
Now Peter had no clue that Jesus Christ would be crucified and resurrected, but he
truly believed that Jesus was the Messiah. This is obvious when, only moments later,
Peter rebukes Jesus Christ for saying he will be killed, and be raised again the third day" (Matthew 16:21). In verse 22,
"..Peter took him and began to rebuke him, saying, “Far be it from You, Lord; this shall not happen to You!”
Before his death, Jesus told the twelve that he had to die and that he would rise on the third day. Looking back upon this passage we see this as Jesus speaking of an event that would change the history of the world. However, it is unquestionable that
the disciples were ignorant of its meaning.
“Then he took unto him the twelve, and said unto them,
Behold, we go up to Jerusalem,…And they shall scourge him, and put him to death: and the third day he shall rise again. And
they understood none of these things: and this saying was hid from them, neither knew they the things which were spoken. – Luke 18:31-34. hmm... that's strange if the gospel of grace that came through a revelation of Jesus Christ to Paul and was a mystery prior to that has the same content as the gospel of the kingdom as you claim. *This is where you need to
RIGHTLY DIVIDE THE WORD OF TRUTH.
After his crucifixion, instead of anxiously waiting his resurrection,
the apostles were still ignorant, disheartened at the death of their redeemer, and did not even at first believe the testimony of his resurrection (Mark 16:14, Luke 24:19-24).
It was not until
after his resurrection that Jesus appeared to the apostles and
opened their understanding (Luke 24:44-47).
15 So I said, ‘Who are You, Lord?’ And He said, ‘I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting. 16 But rise and stand on your feet; for I have appeared to you for this purpose, to make you a minister and a witness both of the things which you have seen and of the things which I will yet reveal to you. 17 I will deliver you from the Jewish people, as well as from the Gentiles, to whom I now send you, 18 to open their eyes, in order to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Me.’ Acts 26:15-18
I will deliver you from the Jewish people, as well as from the Gentiles, to whom I now send you,
One Gospel for both Jew and Gentile.
In this
dispensation, yes (1 Corinthians 15:1-8; Romans 1:16; Ephesians 3:1-12).
in order to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins
Repent is how we turn to God and turn away from Satan.
Repent and believe the gospel is how we turn to God in faith and away from Satan. In Acts 20:21, we read (and notice the order) - testifying both to Jews and to Greeks of
repentance toward God and of faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.
In 1 Corinthians 15:3-7, Paul said he taught them that:
Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures
and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures,
and that He was seen by Cephas, then by the twelve.
After that He was seen by over five hundred brethren at once
After that He was seen by James, then by all the apostles.
Then last of all He was seen by me also, as by one born out of due time.
This was AFTER the cross.
3 For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures, 5 and that He was seen by Cephas, then by the twelve. 6 After that He was seen by over five hundred brethren at once, of whom the greater part remain to the present, but some have fallen asleep. 7 After that He was seen by James, then by all the apostles. 8 Then last of all He was seen by me also, as by one born out of due time. 1 Corinthians 15:3-8
Otherwise, your "Gospel" is this -
Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures
and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures,
and that He was seen by Cephas, then by the twelve.
After that He was seen by over five hundred brethren at once
After that He was seen by James, then by all the apostles.
Then last of all He was seen by me also, as by one born out of due time.
Is that the Gospel? LOL
My gospel is the
same gospel that Paul preached. Are you ready to repent and BELIEVE the gospel? Verses 5-8 testify of the risen Savior. Praise the Lord!
