Again for the 10th time, a person cannot earn their way to eternal life, by doing good works. But a person can be damned if good works do not accompany the gift that God has given you.

Who said anything was automatic? If it was automatic God would just save everyone, it is his will.
Face it dude, the penalty of sin is death, The gift of God is life.
You do not work to earn a gift, it is freely given, paid for by the giver.
But he will not just give it to anyone, He told adam, If you eat of this tree, you will die, Adam had to chose to say yes or no. He tells us now. I came to offer you forgiveness, We have to say yes or no.
No amount of works will cause God to forgive one sin. If you think your goodness will cause God to overlook your sins, You are in serious denial of the truth.
Good luck trying to earn the gift of eternal life. Good luck having faith in self over faith in God.

Me too brother...I am a child of God , adopted into His family , saved by His grace , nothing to do with me...He is my LORD and my Savior , I am nothing without Him ...What good I do I do through Him , in Him...xox...
Wrong again......God did not give multiple choice baptism.....end of story.....sprinkling and pouring are not valid forms and does not equal baptism.....
amen sis
because of His love for you
He has blessed you greatly
and all these lovely changes in your life is just a product of what He has done/is doing in you
you have been a blessing to me and im willing to guess many others as well
you are a wonderful example of a daughter of God
(by the way.... i love when i see you posting)
Thats why many call it religion, It sounds good. But it only sounds good to prideful itchy ears. Like you said, To God it is filthy rags, it mocks the cross. It is like going to someone who paid your way to someplace because you could not offord it, And you shoving the ticket back in his face and say thanks, But i got this.
They take Jesus, and his work, and basically say thanks Jesus, But I got this..

On judgement day, I will say that I was born of the water = water baptized, just like Jesus and I was born of the spirit = baptized of the spirit, just like Jesus. Where is the baspheming? Accept I am blaspheming your theology, but certainly not the HS. Don't throw around blaspheming lightly. At least 1/2 of Christianity is according to you blaspheming the HS. I don't think so.
Hi Dcontrolversal.
I would offer not multiple choice, but rather two different kinds. One not seen, as the things of God, and one seen as the things of men used in ceremonial laws which they were purposed by God to preach the gospel in respect to the suffering of Christ beforehand.
It would seem that the gospel was preached beforehand in that way when looking at 1 Peter 1:8-11.
Thegospel is hid in many ways, but I think it was the purpose for the ceremonial laws. They looked ahead to the cross we look back by the same faith that comes from hearing God through His word.
Whom havingnot seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory: Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.Ofwhich salvation the prophets have enquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you:1 Peter 1:8-10
It would seem the words.... "who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you" is speaking of the gospel.
The key.
Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferingsof Christ, and the glory that should follow.1 Peter 1:11
That matter of time is the time of reformation the fullness of the manner of time spoken of in 1 Peter. The shadows by which are no to judge one another with had become sight the veil was rent indicating the flesh of the Son of man Jesus had come to bring glory to the father not seen
Water baptism has its roots in ceremonial laws, having to do when a new member declares as their goal of becoming a member of the priesthood in which Christian are a part of as a kingdom of priest. Many verses showthis. I will offer one from Revelation
And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen. Revelation 1:6
It would seem to be the subject matter in John 3:25 .The Son of man, Jesus desiring to enter the ministryneedingaofficiator from the tribe of Levi .John the Baptist, who prepared the way for the Son of man to begin the ministry, being sent out into the wilderness to represent the scape goat who sins of the believer's were metaphorically placed on his head. So that also now as a priest Jesus could officiate and baptize men who also had a desire to serve the lord.
Then there arose a question between some of John's disciples and the Jews aboutpurifying. And they came unto John, and said unto him, Rabbi, he that was with thee beyond Jordan, to whom thou barest witness, behold, the same baptizeth, and all men come to him.John answered and said, A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven.John3:25-27
Leviticus 8 uses water as that seen to symbolize the Holy Spirit, not seen. The first symbolic work in preparing a priest for the priest hood as a ceremonial law (shadow)is the baptism of water
And Moses brought Aaron and his sons, and washed them with water. And he put upon him the coat, and girded him with the girdle, and clothed him with the robe, and put the ephod upon him, and he girded him with the curious girdle of the ephod, and bound it unto him therewith. And he put the breastplate upon him: also he put in the breastplate the Urim and the Thummim Lev 8
When God baptizes us, it is the pouring out of His Spirit, not seen. Water as that seen is used as a metaphor in various parables to represent the unseen anointing or teaching of Spirit of Christ, the Holy Spirit of God who does work in the believers to both will and do His good pleasure as we work with Him. to teach comfort and bring to minds the things he has taught us. He informs us as it is written we abide in Him the anointing one. Also informing us that we do not need a man seen to teach us and those who insist we do he identifies as the antichrists the many who were there during that time period. That I would believe is the result of the Baptism of the Spirit or fiery baptism that cleanses us of sin, a purifying fire that refines His saints
That which is called a believer'sbaptism today works fine to those who are members of the priesthood of believers again a person cannot judge shadows that point to their fulfillment.
The Bible defines the fruit of the spirit as love, joy, peace, parience, goodness and self control....
Those do not happen because of your words or actions but are characteristics of a person's being from walking with the Holy spirit,...
What exactly are you disagreeing about?
You judge by the fruit not the works.
On judgement day, I will say that I was born of the water = water baptized, just like Jesus and I was born of the spirit = baptized of the spirit, just like Jesus. Where is the baspheming? Jesus was not born the son of God by water....which means your bolded quote is false and not of God.....
Folks the above bolded quote is false and a flat lie......
Jesus was born a son of God by the SPIRIT of GOD and he was dealt the SPIRIT WITHOUT measure from the WOMB.....LUKE's account of his birth supports my statement.
benhur is a typical "Scripture Twister", they are very crafty at deceiving people, especially young Christian which is his target group.
Baptized by the Holy spirit..., not water.
Jesus wasn't baptized with water until he was 30.
Does that mean He wasn't God's Son until then?
.
That's really sad.,,, I agree salvation is a life long process. However the Holy spirit testifies on our hearts if we are children of God or not. If you don't have that blessed assurance, if you don't have God's agape love In your heart...then there is a problem. How can you share God's love and acceptance with others if you have never experienced it yourself?
If you don't even know if you are saved or not, what kind of gospel are you preaching?
How is it any different than the rest of the world's religions?
The Holy Spirit is not of fear but of love, power and a sound mind.
Amen the fruits of THE SPIRIT <---NOT our works......what can one expect from a religionist that emphasizes works, religious creeds and religion.........nothing biblical at the end of the day....
1/2? Where do ypu get your math, very few believe in water regeneration, it is just your small group, as for others, we believe baptizo should be interpreted the way a roman who spoke greek or greeks themselves would interpret it, ie, to be immersed into, or placed into, it was also used of dying garments as the garment was baptized into a colored dye. And by itself water is not seen.Sorry, I and at least half of Christendom believe that verse refers to baptism by full immersion in the water. I'm not sure if there is a way to prove one way or the other.
