I don't believe the word "fulfill" and the Word "destroy" mean the same thing. For some unknown reason you, and many others seem to believe that Jesus, "fulfilling" the Law and Prophets means He erased them, or made void the Word's contained in them.
The Greek for this word doesn't suggest that. I hope you can understand that God's Word through the Levite Priests had been completely corrupted, centered around a priesthood which sold sacrifices for profit. Jesus came and showed the world what a person who follows God's Instructions look like. He is the Author of my Faith. He "fulfilled" the Law and showed once and for all how to "walk in it".
His life reflected God's Will for man. His Life exposed the mainstream preachers of His time as corrupt. His people were lost PS. They had been deceived by a priesthood that rejected God's Commandments and created their own. He came to show them how to receive God's Truth. What choices to make. He didn't just "SAY" it, He lived it. He fulfilled it.
And He gave us the same instruction. "Be perfect even as your Father in Heaven is perfect" "Go and sin no more" we are to "Walk even as He Walked".
Religious man says this is impossible. Like a small boy David killing a seasoned warrior Goliath with a slingshot. Like going and possessing a land with giants as Caleb believed. Like a man willing to sacrifice his own son in obedience to God like Abraham.
Like Sampson and Rehab. Like 300 men winning a war against thousands.
Heb. 12:
1 Wherefore
seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses,
let us lay aside every weight,
and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and
let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
3 For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself,
lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.
Duet. 30:
19 I (The Word which became Flesh) call heaven and earth to record this day against you,
that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing:
therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:
20 That thou mayest love the LORD thy God,
and that thou mayest obey his voice, and
that thou mayest cleave unto him:
for he is thy life, and the length of thy days: that thou mayest dwell in the land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.
The Messiah said: Luke 9:
23 And he said to
them all,
If any man will come after me,
let him deny himself,
and take up his cross daily,
and follow me.
This is the "race" Paul speaks of. A Journey as sojourners in a strange land. And Jesus tells us and shows us how to make this journey.
John 14:
21 He that hath my commandments,
and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him,
and will manifest myself to him.
I know there will be forces trying to get me to "not believe" as the Serpent did to Eve. But I have His Word's to guide me, and His Spirit to show me truth.
I already know religious men will try to discourage me as they did Caleb.
I already know there will be the Decons, and the EG's and G9's and Greenp's and the TT, and the MMd's who will try to convince me God doesn't know what He is doing. That it is impossible to do as the Messiah instructs. It's all there in His Word, all I have to do is "Believe in Him" and have FAITH that He will do what He said He would do.
As He said "I came not to destroy His Fathers Word"
but to fulfill it.
Ex. 20:
6 And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me,
and keep my commandments.
