The law and prophets were until John....I am under grace and the righteousness of Christ has been applied by faith without the works of the law......wake up!
Faith is the begining of Trust.

You only ever intended to incite an argument and a fruitless discusion in order to desperately cling to the lie you told yourself.

God created his Children with freewill.

And that is the very thing you are attempting to ever so subtly lie about.
That a person has no Choice.

Love that song, ordered the cults book...figured God wants me to research it if three of my brothers suggested it to me in a days time.

Probably wouldn't be my first choice for reading though...blah cults..,they are wrong, what else do we need to say?
We need to brush up on all of it, so we can warn the Babes in Christ, not to listen to them.

Old commandment, New covenant.
T he old that is passing away is the Torah of sin While Torah of Spirit (life increases eternally.
1 John 2 Complete Jewish Bible (CJB)

2 My children, I am writing you these things so that you won’t sin. But if anyone does sin, we have Yeshua the Messiah, the Tzaddik, who pleads our cause with the Father. 2 Also, he is the kapparah for our sins — and not only for ours, but also for those of the whole world.

3 The way we can be sure we know him is if we are obeying his commands. 4 Anyone who says, “I know him,” but isn’t obeying his commands is a liar — the truth is not in him. 5 But if someone keeps doing what he says, then truly love for God has been brought to its goal in him. This is how we are sure that we are united with him. 6 A person who claims to be continuing in union with him ought to conduct his life the way he did.

7 Dear friends, I am not writing you a new command. On the contrary, it is an old command, which you have had from the beginning; the old command is the message which you have heard before. 8 Yet I am writing you a new command, and its reality is seen both in him and in you, because the darkness is passing away and the true light is already shining. 9 Anyone who claims to be in this light while hating his brother is still in the dark. 10 The person who keeps loving his brother remains in the light, and there is nothing in him that could make him trip. 11 But the person who hates his brother is in the dark — yes, he is walking in the dark, and he doesn’t know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded his eyes.

That's how I understand it.

It's like taking a dirty plate and declaring, "this is now set apart to be used only for holidays. It will not be used for common purposes". Then we proceed to start scrubbing it to bring it up to the calling it has received.

Sanctification is, both, the setting apart of the vessel for a noble purpose, AND the process in which it now enters into to be readied for that purpose.

Sanctification and Salvation are TWO DIFFERENT THINGS. If you do not know the difference, it will lead you into some serious Errors in Doctrine.

But, brothers, I do not want you to go on being ignorant about the things of the Spirit. 2 You know that when you were pagans, no matter how you felt you were being led, you were being led astray to idols, which can’t speak at all. 3 Therefore, I want to make it clear to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God ever says, “Yeshua is cursed!” and no one can say, “Yeshua is Lord,” except by the Ruach HaKodesh.

It sounded as if you were already wonderfully made with Torah of Spirit(life)?

Therefore, there is no longer any condemnation awaiting those who are in union with the Messiah Yeshua. 2 Why? Because the Torah of the Spirit, which produces this life in union with Messiah Yeshua, has set me free from the “Torah” of sin and death. 3 For what the Torah could not do by itself, because it lacked the power to make the old nature cooperate, God did by sending his own Son as a human being with a nature like our own sinful one [but without sin]. God did this in order to deal with sin, and in so doing he executed the punishment against sin in human nature, 4 so that the just requirement of the Torah might be fulfilled in us who do not run our lives according to what our old nature wants but according to what the Spirit wants...

Similarly, the Spirit helps us in our weakness; for we don’t know how to pray the way we should. But the Spirit himself pleads on our behalf with groanings too deep for words; 27 and the one who searches hearts knows exactly what the Spirit is thinking, because his pleadings for God’s people accord with God’s will. 28 Furthermore, we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called in accordance with his purpose;

May I ask what Church or Church-type, do you go to? ? ?

Bible->>>By grace are you saved by faith

Workers for->>>By works are you saved by self

Pharisees->>>By self righteousness are you saved by self exhultation
Bible - By grace we are saved by faith.
Bible - Faith without works is dead.
Therefore by grace we are saved by faith validated by works.
Oops! There is that nasty faith proven by works.

Just curious,
Has anyone here in this forum ever heard dcon openly give a confession of Faith?

Oral or written?

Just a thought.
Because I honestly believe it would greatly help everyone here understand where exactly he stands with the Lord!

Is OSAS an attempt to distort the wonderful truth of Jesus?

Isn't it true that OSAS = security of the believer?

What we are trying to tell you is that your security belief is not true. If it is not true, you are in a very dangerous position.

Can you tell me what a person must do after they believe in Christ? And if "must' is too harsh, use the word 'should'?
What is OSAS? I failed in my attempt to look it up.

Hi Endoscopy,
OSAS is an acronym that is used by the folks who wish to disprove the "eternal security of the believer." (Once Saved Always Saved). Eventually they will come around and tell believers that if they do not have enough "works" they can lose their eternal salvation which is so far from the truth.

There is the Church doctrine of, "the security of the believer", most mainstream protestant Churches around the world teach the "security of the believer", and the bible supports this doctrine. There is no such thing as OSAS taught in the Church, it is a poor attempt from workers to discredit Christians and try to make them believe that God's children can lose their "eternal salvation", and they cannot. No one can pluck God's children out of His hands, ever.

God bless

Thank you for response. Well I am an OSAS believer myself. I know there are denominations that believe differently. They believe that if they die before asking forgiveness for a sin they are not saved. I have a close friend that goes to one of those churches. They live in a constant fear of dying before asking for forgiveness That is the problem with that belief. Instead of joy in the Lord it is fear of the Lord

Who decides which are prescriptive and which are descriptive?
Believers. 1 Corinthians 2:11 - For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God. 12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God. 13 These things we also speak, not in words which man’s wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual. 14 But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

Is this a division of Scripture given by God or is it man's idea?
2 Timothy 2:15 - Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

I see fearing God as fear of offending God and a righteous awe and respect for Him (Proverbs 1:7; Psalm 34:9; Isaiah 66:2). Remaining on the roller coaster ride of fear and bondage to IN-security is an unhealthy fear and is no way to live the Christian life!

Not really, but they are borderline.
Cults usually do not have 18,000,000 members all around the world. Not enough black cats to satisfiy a cult fetish for sacrificing black cats. So no, they are not a cult.

They may not believe 100% of what you believe, but they are a Christian denomination and very good people.

I will visit any congegation except the synagogue of satan.

To do what, proselytize?

If you do not have a regular Church that you Worship and fellowship with, how are you Obedient to the "ONE ANOTHER'S" in the New Testament?

Romans 12:4-5 (HCSB)
[SUP]4 [/SUP]Now as we have many parts in one body, and all the parts do not have the same function,
[SUP]5 [/SUP]in the same way we who are many are one body in Christ and individually members of one another.

Romans 12:10 (HCSB)
[SUP]10 [/SUP] Show family affection to one another with brotherly love. Outdo one another in showing honor.

Romans 12:16 (HCSB)
[SUP]16 [/SUP]Be in agreement with one another. Do not be proud; instead, associate with the humble. Do not be wise in your own estimation.

Romans 13:8 (HCSB)
[SUP]8 [/SUP] Do not owe anyone anything, except to love one another, for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law.

Romans 14:13 (HCSB)
[SUP]13 [/SUP]Therefore, let us no longer criticize one another. Instead decide never to put a stumbling block or pitfall in your brother’s way.

Romans 14:19 (HCSB)

[SUP]19 [/SUP]So then, we must pursue what promotes peace and what builds up one another.

Romans 15:5-6 (HCSB)
[SUP]5 [/SUP] Now may the God who gives endurance and encouragement allow you ⌊to live⌋ in harmony with one another, according to ⌊the command of⌋ Christ Jesus,
[SUP]6 [/SUP] so that you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ with a united mind and voice.

Romans 15:7 (HCSB)
[SUP]7 [/SUP] Therefore accept one another, just as the Messiah also accepted you, to the glory of God.

Romans 16:16 (HCSB)
[SUP]16 [/SUP] Greet one another with a holy kiss {What ever is the Custom that is reserved for like-minded believers}. All the churches of Christ send you greetings.

NOW that is just ONE BOOK OF THE NEW TESTAMENT. Many other examples of "ONE ANOTHER" are in the rest of the New Testament.

So now, please tell me, how is that POSSIBLE without being connected to a LIKE-MINDED body of local Believers? ? ?

I agree with you. We live in a righteous awe of God and respect for Him and a little fear of that awesome power is not a bad thing. We do our best to do what God has asked of us, and we rely on his mercy and grace to make up any shortfall that may occur in our walk with Him.
