Amen! Sabbath keeping with all it's rules and regulations, was part of a covenant with Israel (Exodus 16:23, 29; 31:12-18; 35:1-3; Leviticus 19:30; 23:2-3, 32; Numbers 15:32-36; 28:1-10; 29:39-40; I Chronicles. 23:30-31; II Chronicles 31:2-4; Isaiah 1:13; Amos 8:5; Nehemiah 10:31) that is not binding on Christians under the New Covenant.
These are the scriptures of the OP here that disagree with your interpretation of these scriptures. Did you wish to address the OP and all the scriptures that disagree with your understanding of these scriptures? Simply stating the scriptures that the OP is discussing does not answer the scriptures from God's WORD that disagree with you.*Colossians 2:16 - Therefore no one is to act as your judge in regard to food or drink or in respect to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath day 17 things which are a mere shadow of what is to come; but the substance belongs to Christ.
References for principles of 9 of the 10 commandments are reiterated under the New Covenant, yet the command to keep the Sabbath day is not binding on Christians under the New Covenant.
1. You shall have no other gods before Me. - Acts 14:15
2. You shall make no idols. - 1 John 5:21
3. You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain. - James 5:12
4. Keep the Sabbath day holy. - Not binding on the Church - Colossians 2:16-17
5. Honor your father and your mother. - Ephesians 6:1-2
6. You shall not murder. - Romans 13:9-10; 1 John 3:15
7. You shall not commit adultery. - Romans 13:9-10; 1 Corinthians 6:9-10
8. You shall not steal. - Romans 13:9-10; Ephesians 4:28
9. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor. - Romans 13:9-10; Colossians 3:9-10
10. You shall not covet. - Romans 13:9-10; Ephesians 5:3
No it's not, as I already explained in post #4050.That is not true. The Seventh Day, keeping of the Sabbath is reiterated in Hebrews chapter 4.
You know this already, but SDA doctrine does not believe in salvation by grace through faith, but the doctrines of the Seal of God (Sabbath worship), The Mark of the Beast (Sunday worship), non-assurance of salvation, and finally the infamous investigative judgement!
According to SDA doctrine the final discriminator of salvation is the day that one worships - nothing more and nothing less!
(Oh, and with the non-assurance of salvation thing you would need to do this to your dying day!!)
And good old LGF is a true believer in this regard - I refer you to the website that he so prominently advertises with every post!
sda folks believe The Mark of the Beast is Sunday worship?
i hadn't heard that
i like to collect good references whenever i can,
do you have something from an official sda book or website on that?
The Seventh Day, keeping of the Sabbath is reiterated in Hebrews chapter 4.
When one experiences the Gospel rest they cease from their own work as GOD did from HIS. GOD was not ever a non Spiritual BEING as we are outside of Christ. For GOD is Spirit. So HE did not enter into some spiritual rest; HE is our rest in Christ Jesus. Hebrews four is a call to those experiencing the Gospel to cease from their own work as GOD did from His. Which was done on the Seventh Day of the week; which is the Sabbath.
Let's take a look at Hebrews chapter four.
1) Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us (the people of the writers day and us) of entering into his rest (the Gospel), any of you should seem to come short of it. For unto us was the gospel (His Rest) preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it. For we which have believed do enter into rest (His Rest; the Gospel), as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest (the Gospel; the rest we have when Christ Jesus is our Life): although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.
4) For HE (GOD) spake in a certain place (the giving of the Commandments on Mt. Sinia) of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works.
5,6) And in this place again, (GOD speaks of the Seventh Day) If they shall enter into my rest (the Gospel; the rest we have when Jesus is our life). Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein (the Gospel), and they to whom it was first preached entered not in (the Gospel) because of unbelief (obstinacy, obstinate opposition to the divine will):
If we receive the Gospel Rest in Christ; GOD is calling us to the Word that HE spoke of of the Seventh Day on Mt Sinia whichis the keeping of the Sabbath.
The Gospel; our Rest in HIM and HE in us enables us now to partake of the Seventh Day Sabbath's hallowedness.
7) Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day (Now), after so long a time; as it is said, To day (now) if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts.
Dabid's (beloved's) Word's though GOD where and are a call to repentance; GOD's Rest in Christ. For unto us was the Gospel (His Rest) preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.
For (because of the word just shared in Psalm) if Jesus (Joshua leading them into Canaan) had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day (constant call to the Gospel).
The leading them into the promise land was a symbol of what they already had available to them. After the forty years of roaming and seeing GOD's loving and guiding hand they were still only willing to receive the physical blessings and not the Spiritual; HIS Rest in Christ.
9) There remaineth (present tense) therefore a Sabbath keeping to the people of God.
This verse brings us back to verse 4 And in this place again, (GOD speaks of the Seventh Day) If they shall enter into my rest (the Gospel; the rest we have when Jesus is our life).
10) For he that is entered into his Rest (the Gospel), he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.
"As" is direct Comparison. There is no way around that. So it is A Ceasing from work like GOD did from HIS. It is the calling to those who entered in their rest (the Gospel rest in Jesus in GOD) to cease from their work AS GOD did. GOD ceased from HIS PHYSICAL work on the Seventh Day. GOD is already and forever Spirit. So HE did not enter enter into any Spiritual rest we do. He is our Spiritual rest. So we in harmony with Christ and the FATHER cease from our work on the Seventh Day as HE did. The Day HE hallowed (set apart) and blessed.
So what are our instructions in regards to keeping the Sabbath?
Because we have received the Gospel; the new heart and mind through Christ Jesus; old things having passed away, all things being new and of GOD. We Simply cease from our own works as GOD did from HIS. He simply rested from work; so we rest as HE did.
(Heb 4:1-10 KJV)
No you didn'tNo it's not, as I already explained in post #4050.
No you are going out of context and confusing the rest (the Gospel) with the Seventh Day Sabbath.Hebrews 4:9 - So there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God. -- here the Sabbath-keeping is the perpetual Sabbath rest to be enjoyed uninterruptedly by believers in their fellowship with the Father and the Son, in contrast to the weekly Sabbath under the Law.

I have this personal philosophy, I wouldn't teach it to others, but it is this.
"Harm no one, help those you can, bring honour and glory God in all you do, then your life, in each and every day, will be Holy unto the Lord."
Live life like that and you won't break any of the commandments.
I did and you are not fooling me with your perverted sabbath gospel and SDA propaganda. Your argument has already been refuted in post #4050.Please take the time to read the original post; thank you.

Got to go to the gym and get some things done around the house.
May the LORD our GOD; CREATOR and SUSTAINER of all, bless us and keep us in HIS Son Jesus Christ.
You haven't proven anything. It is not the same post to which you addressed in 4050. Read the post please and address the points of the post.Originally Posted by lightbearer![]()

Hebrews 4:9 issues no command about keeping the weekly Sabbath under the Old Covenant. The book as a whole makes the point that the Old Covenant is obsolete (Hebrews 8:13) now that the reality has come in Christ. The verse in question cannot be used as a proof-text to insist that Christians must keep a weekly seventh-day Sabbath rest. The passage does not exhort us to keep an Old Covenant Sabbath, but it admonishes us to enter the spiritual "rest" of God that we have through faith in Christ. The weekly Sabbath was merely a shadow of things to come, but the substance belongs to Christ (Colossians 2:16-17).

In Colossians 2:16 Sabbath is plural. It starts with the word therefore. Which means that it is connected to what was previously stated. This fact takes us back to verse 2:14.The weekly Sabbath was merely a shadow of things to come, but the substance belongs to Christ (Colossians 2:16-17).
So God's grace is not sufficient to save the sinner!
You have a fake god.
l.g.f. states that we are saved by grace. then he goes on to explain ( as do you ) that if one does not keep the Sabbath , then one is not saved, nullifying what he said in the beginning. we see right through that double-speak.
An unbiased reading of Colossians 2:16 will show that this is talking about not just "ceremonial Sabbaths." The words "ton sabbaton" or "sabbath days"; are the same words translated "Sabbath day" in Exodus 20:8 in the Septuagint (the Jewish translation of the Old Testament into Greek). In Colossians 2:16 Sabbath is plural. It starts with the word therefore. Which means that it is connected to what was previously stated.
