Do you know, that particular interpretation, was WHY Martin Luther first want the book of James, NOT TO BE INCLUDED IN THE CANON. It was only after Martin Luther reconsidered that James cannot Contradict what the other authors had already written, that he came to the conclusion that HE HAD THE WRONG INTERPRETATION.
JAMES cannot contract the Teachings of JESUS:
John 3:5-7 (HCSB)
[SUP]
5 [/SUP] Jesus answered,
“I assure you: Unless someone is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.
[SUP]
6 [/SUP]
Whatever is born of the flesh is flesh, and whatever is born of the Spirit is spirit.
[SUP]
7 [/SUP]
Do not be amazed that I told you that you must be born again.
No mention of works being part of SALVATION there.
John 3:15-16 (HCSB)
[SUP]
15 [/SUP]
so that everyone who believes in Him will have eternal life.
[SUP]
16 [/SUP] “
For God loved the world in this way: He gave His One and Only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.
No mention of works being part of SALVATION there.
John 6:47 (HCSB)
[SUP]
47 [/SUP]
“I assure you: Anyone who believes has eternal life.
No mention of works being part of SALVATION there.
John 10:28 (HCSB)
[SUP]
28 [/SUP]
I give them eternal life, and they will never perish—ever! No one will snatch them out of My hand.
Notice, it is ETERNAL LIFE he gives to our Human Spirit, even though the body will die, and be ressurected. IT IS NOT ETERNAL IF YOU CAN LOSE IT.
"The book The of Galatians is a Pauline Epistle (letter from Paul). It was written by the Apostle Paul about 49 A.D. prior to the Jerusalem Council which had taken place in 50 A.D. This quite possibly could have been Paul's first letter. "

JAMES, cannot contradict what Paul wrote in the Book of Galatians:
Galatians 2:16 (HCSB)
[SUP]
16 [/SUP] know that
no one is justified by the works of the law but by faith in Jesus Christ. And we have believed in Christ Jesus so that we might be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law,
because by the works of the law no human being will be justified.
There is NOT two Gospels, so what DID JAMES MEAN? JAMES, has parallel Verses what 1 John 3:14-18, which will give us the CLEAR DEFINITION of what JAMES ACTUALLY MEANT:
1 John 3:14-19 (HCSB)
[SUP]
14 [/SUP]
We know that we have passed from death to life because we love our brothers. The one who does not love remains in death.
[SUP]
15 [/SUP] Everyone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life residing in him.
[SUP]
16 [/SUP] This is how we have come to know love: He laid down His life for us. We should also lay down our lives for our brothers.
[SUP]
17 [/SUP] If anyone has this world’s goods and sees his brother in need but closes his eyes to his ⌊need⌋—
how can God’s love reside in him?
[SUP]
18 [/SUP] Little children, we must not love with word or speech, but with truth and action.
[SUP]
19 [/SUP] This is how we will know we belong to the truth and will convince our conscience in His presence,
SEE IT? It is NOT PART OF SALVATION, but rather IT IS PART OF THE LOVE THE FATHER HAS GIVEN US WHEN WE WERE SAVED.
NOW DOESN'T THESE VERSES DRIVE YOU CRAZY, WHEN YOU SEE HOW WRONG YOUR THEOLOGY HAS BEEN:
Ephesians 2:4-9 (HCSB)
[SUP]
4 [/SUP] But God,
who is rich in mercy, because of His great love that He had for us,
[SUP]
5 [/SUP] made us alive with the Messiah even though we were dead in trespasses.
You are saved by grace!
[SUP]
6 [/SUP] Together with Christ Jesus He also raised us up and seated us in the heavens,
[SUP]
7 [/SUP] so that in the coming ages He might display the immeasurable riches of His grace through ⌊His⌋ kindness to us in Christ Jesus.
[SUP]
8 [/SUP]
For you are saved by grace through faith,
and this is not from yourselves;
it is God’s gift—
[SUP]
9 [/SUP]
not from works, so that no one can boast.
John 4:10 (NCV)
[SUP]
10 [/SUP] Jesus said,
“If you only knew the free gift of God and who it is that is asking you for water, you would have asked him, and he would have given you living water.“
Romans 5:15 (NKJV)
[SUP]
15 [/SUP] But
the free gift is not like the offense. For if by the one man's offense many died, much more the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, abounded to many.
Romans 6:23 (NASB)
[SUP]
23 [/SUP] For the wages of sin is death, but
the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.[/QUOTE]

[/FONT]This is a pretty straight forward scripture that does not need a lot of interpretation skills. But what is the interpretation that Martin came up with?
