This is just admitting hypocrisy but there is value in putting on a good show.
Not surprising this is in opposition to walking in Jesus's ways.

I see you have become a judge....let me ask you, when did our Lord appoint you judge over him? He did not admit hypocrisy....but who are you to judge?

The workers need to print that, Put it on the refrigerator. On their dash board of their car. In their office. And where ever they can, until it breaks through the hardness and finally sinks in.

Those who place their faith and trust in Christ Jesus are said to be lost by the workers-for. It is one of the thorns believers bear, in picking up the cross daily.

Does God need you to validate you faith before he saved you eternally?
Rom. 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

2 Cor. 10:18 For not he that commendeth himself is approved, but whom the Lord commendeth.

1 Thes. 5:21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.

1 John 2:3 And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
5 But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.
6 He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.

2 Cor. 13:5 Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?

Why do we need to do these things EG?

Matt. 24:4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.
5
For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.

Col. 2:8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

2 Cor. 11:13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.
14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.

1 Pet. 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
9 Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.
10 But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.

Preston asked a good question and is validated with scripture. We are to examine our "works" to see of they are from God, or some popular religious tradition. Following the instructions of God/Jesus is not wrong, even if doing so exposes religious doctrines as from man and not from God, in our self or someone else. As Jesus said:

John 3:20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.

21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God. (Not man made religious doctrines)

We all have works, Preston is wise to listen to Jesus and ALL His Words, and prove where these "works" come from.

Non of this says GOD need proof.

Try again my friend, You want to mock God and humanise him, thats on you.

No one here is saying that faith will be absent of works., thats your first mistake. And why your preaching to the choir, And claiming God can not know who has true saving faith vs those who have mere belief is your other issue.

I never said God needs proof and neither did Preston, nor does any of the scriptures I posted that you ignored. But they do say to check ourselves against the Word to make sure we are on the narrow path and not just following the preaching of the "MANY" who come in His Name.

I believe that is the point Preston was making, and it seems the Word agrees with him, even if you don't.

Thanks for another spirit filled reply EG.

Jesus said He would draw ALL men to Himself; Scriptures say He died for the sins of the WHOLE world. But they say, oh, "all" does not mean "all" and "the whole world" only means the elect :p God pursues, He draws, He makes it possible (ALL things are possible with Him AND in Him we live and move and have our being) but at some point, we must make a decision to respond to His call, one way or another.
You have focused on the key issue: at some point, we must make a desision to respond to His call, one way or another.

I believe the way we respond is to kneel in prayer, and have a genuine experience with the HG who witnesses to my spirit that Jesus is the Christ and is our Savior. Once you have a knowledge that Jesus is your Savior it opens up all kinds of doors into heaven, you will be a new person and grace will flow freely and your good works will flow freely and you will be known as a child of God by all those that know you and your light will shine to all and give all the glory to God, and help Him build up his kingdom here on earth, and write your name in the book of life that will allow you to enter the KOH and live in glory and eternal peace for ever with him. So keep your wonderful faith, do not ever lose your good spirit. Thank you.

You responded to a post where I asked him, I will let him answer the question

again, in context. You never answered if God needs proof of your faith. So stick to context next time.

Someone responded to my post with the answer yes, are they correct? What do you have to say to him?

As for the rest of your posting, I did nto ignore, in fact i said I agreed with it. But of course, with your closed mind, you can;t see anything but what you want to see.

True, And also just made my point, Works do not even justify themselves before men if we really think about it, people can be false teachers or belief in a false gospel, and still do works (although they are not righteous works, they would be deemed self righteous works then) At the most, They allow us to search deep in our souls (as james asked each of us to do ) and wonder, if I claim to have faith, but I have no works, did I really have faith at all? Or is it dead?
Hence the "plenteous in number" grouping that does not make the cut...Lord, Lord have WE NOT DONE......you know why this is so false...because any work that will meet God's standard is the result of Jesus through us as a living sacrifice and why HE GETS ALL THE GLORY!

B...,

Why need we be justified before men?
Maybe to show that we have have been justified by God as a result of placing genuine faith in Jesus.

James is not saying our works make us righteous.
He is not saying that works will save us.
He is saying that works are evidence of the genuine salvation offered through Jesus.

James is contrasting 2 types of faith.
True faith that saves and a false that is dead.

True saving faith will show up, obedience and works.

To be justified or to justify doesn't just mean to be declared righteous.

It also means

g1344. δικαιόω dikaioō; to show, exhibit, evince, one to be righteous, such as he is and wishes himself to be considered.

All James is doing is pointing out, clarifying what Jesus said.

John 15:5

5 “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.

John 13:34-35
34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. 35 By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”

John 10:27
27 My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.

What is the issue James is addressing?

Favouritism.

James 2:1-17
Chapter 2
Beware of Personal Favoritism
1 My brethren, do not hold the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with partiality.
2 For if there should come into your assembly a man with gold rings, in fine apparel, and there should also come in a poor man in filthy clothes,
3 and you pay attention to the one wearing the fine clothes and say to him, “You sit here in a good place,” and say to the poor man, “You stand there,” or, “Sit here at my footstool,”
4 have you not shown partiality among yourselves, and become judges with evil thoughts?
5 Listen, my beloved brethren: Has God not chosen the poor of this world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom which He promised to those who love Him?
6 But you have dishonored the poor man. Do not the rich oppress you and drag you into the courts?
7 Do they not blaspheme that noble name by which you are called?
8 If you really fulfill the royal law according to the Scripture, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself,” you do well;
9 but if you show partiality, you commit sin, and are convicted by the law as transgressors.
10 For whoever shall keep the whole law, and yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all.
11 For He who said, “Do not commit adultery,” also said, “Do not murder.” Now if you do not commit adultery, but you do murder, you have become a transgressor of the law.
12 So speak and so do as those who will be judged by the law of liberty.
13 For judgment is without mercy to the one who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment.
Faith Without Works Is Dead
14 What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him?
15 If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food,
16 and one of you says to them, “Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,” but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit?
17 Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.

Jesus said to the sheep

Matthew 25:35-36
35 for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; 36 I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.’

So when we do that, do what Jesus asks us to do it justifies us before men.

g1344. δικαιόω dikaioō; to show, exhibit, evince, one to be righteous, such as he is and wishes himself to be considered.

If we do as Jesus had commanded us to, we show it and exhibit it, this shows we have true saving faith that has justified us.

Worship on Sunday does not break any of the commandments of God.

Why do you keep telling this lie?
Because.........

a. Religion binds men down under religious rigmarole
b. A reason to keep their converts in line
c. They have no understanding of the freedom found in Jesus

Who are the ZOMBIES? People who are dead to God? Why would you expect them to be doing the will of God? Are you calling people here lost? I wonder what evil lurks in your heart that you would assume to know the works Christians do out of your sight, or say they do nothing, or have not heard and believed the good news? People who lie are children of the devil, but they do not like having that fact pointed out to them.

What do you mean by "exercise" isn't it to practice and not just say and claim or just a lip service? Do you preach about a genuine saving Faith without doing anything? Is preaching not a work? Assuming that Faith alone saves, can a person have Faith and be saved without someone preaching to them the Gospel of salvation?

If you are a preacher, can you say that you are not doing a work? If it is so then what are you doing? Is preaching the Gospel of our salvation irrelevant or unnecessary to our salvation? Does it embellish or add anything to your Faith ALONE doctrine?

dcon’s reply;

Take 1 second and actually think about and ponder what this thread is about.....serious.....it is about HOW ONE IS SAVED not WHAT THEY DO AFTER THEY ARE SAVED.....it IS FAITH ALONE THAT SAVES.....end of story........!

ElAmor

If “ Faith ALONE" saves, can one have faith without hearing the message? The verses below proves that a work is needed and essential to salvation….PREACHING.

It is not of ourselves that we may not boast.( ephesians 2:8-9 ) A Faith that works in Love.( galatians 5:6 ) A “selfless LOVE" that thinks about the welfare and SALVATION OF OTHERS and not just his own interests.( philippians 2:3-4, 1 john 3:16-18 )

Romans 10:14-17 How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And HOW CAN THEY HEAR WITHOUT SOMEONE PREACHING TO THEM? And how can they preach UNLESS THEY ARE SENT? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!” But not all the Israelites accepted the good news. For Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed our message?” Consequently, FAITH COMES FROM HEARING THE MESSAGE, and the message is heard through the word of Christ.

2 John 1:4-11 It has given me great joy to find some of your children WALKING IN THE TRUTH, just as the Father COMMANDED US. And now, dear lady, I am not writing you a new command but one we have had FROM THE BEGINNING. I ask that we love one another. And this is love: that we WALK IN OBEDIENCE TO HIS COMMANDS. As you have heard from the beginning, his command is that you WALK IN LOVE. Many DECEIVERS, who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as COMING IN THE FLESH, have gone out into the world. Any such person is the DECEIVER and the ANTICHRIST. Watch out that you do not lose what you have worked for, but that you may be rewarded fully. Anyone who RUNS AHEAD and DOES NOT CONTINUE in the TEACHING OF CHRIST does not have God; whoever continues in the teaching has both the Father and the Son. If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not take him into your house or welcome him. Anyone who welcomes him SHARES IN HIS WICKED WORK.

Who are those RUNNING AHEAD and DOES NOT CONTINUE IN THE TEACHING OF CHRIST?

They are those who CLAIM SALVATION is by Faith ALONE and ONCE SAVED they are ALWAYS SAVED therefore rejecting God’s Laws and commands which are in fact God’s own words, who says that even obedience to God cannot save anyone because they are works and Faith ALONE saves.

Who then is the deceiver and the ANTICHRIST?

They are those who do not continue in the teaching about WALKING IN LOVE which is WALKING IN OBEDIENCE TO HIS COMMANDS. Who do not acknowledge Jesus as coming in the flesh by the mere fact that they reject the LAW that prophesied about Jesus as coming in the flesh.

1 John 2:1-6 My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have one who speaks to the Father in our defense—Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world. We know that we have come to know him if we obey his commands. THE MAN WHO SAYS, “I KNOW HIM,” BUT DOES NOT DO WHAT HE COMMANDS IS A LIAR, AND THE TRUTH IS NOT IN HIM. But if anyone obeys his word, God’s love is truly made complete in him. This is how we know we are in him: Whoever claims to live in him MUST WALK AS JESUS DID.

I think some people are just nuts, or self deluded.

How do you know someone is alive? Their heart is beating and they are breathing.
Life is defined this way.

So when we talk about walking with God, to be alive we do good works, because that
is what we do. If one does not do these things when one should one is dead inside.
The proof one is not dead, is the action, though one could say one is alive and has the
intention, we know from hard experience this does not always translate into action.

The argument about sin is one sin shows one is a failure, but no actions prove one does
not have Christ within, though strangely some want to claim it means nothing.

But then believing in free grace theology is obviously more important than scripture,
so ofcourse they must be right....

The road of delusion.

To be a friends with Christ you must obey His commands.
Oh the cry goes out the only one command that matters is to believe Jesus, so
that fulfills everything. Except this means you can break Jesus's commands and
that is now not being disobedient, just sinful, which though the apostles say dooms
you to death, they say is irrelevant because you are already forgiven.

But how does one explain this

Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders
nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.
And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.
Corinthians 6:9-11

So if one returns to this life of sin or starts it afresh, according to Paul one is doomed.
Not exactly a free grace agreement here then.
