Right, works do not help salvation. They show that you really have it.

The person who claims to have faith when Jesus comes back but has no works is a liar. They are deceived. You can't live in sin and be saved at the same time. John and Paul both said to not be deceived about this.
The people who constantly boast of works and point to their works over Christ and his blood.....no different than those who blend faith and works for or to keep or maintain....both are in the following boat

MANY will say in that day...LORD, LORD have we not done many wonderful works in your name........

Nice try to twist it....those in unbelief have never trusted into Christ..........those who have trusted into Christ <----if we believe not he abides faithful and cannot deny himself......

NEXT
Uh oh! There you go again saying you can deny Christ and still be saved. Yet you vehemently claim that's NOT what you say.

You're really going to have to make up your mind which you believe.

Because God inspired the Greek and not the ENGLISH..........and the GREEK makes a POINT that is not fully expanded by the ENGLISH.....
Either word works.

The translators make a judgement call

I have no problem with "different"

I have a problem with you telling us it CAN NOT BE "ANOTHER"
When "another" is PREFERRED OVER " DIFFERENT"
And you erroneously saying it backwards

Deceiver<---one who attributes the above to those who understand GRACE and the unmerited salvation given as a gift
Deceiver<----one who attributes the above to those who believe in eternal salvation even though they have never said it or indicated it in any way, shape or form because they have no valid argument against eternal security

You don't listen, I know. But for the sake of others...

Christ will do all the boasting for us.

34“Then the King will say to those on His right, ‘Come, you who are blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. 35‘For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me something to drink; I was a stranger, and you invited Me in; 36naked, and you clothed Me; I was sick, and you visited Me; I was in prison, and you came to Me.’ "-Matthew 24:34-36

How many times did Peter deny the Lord......

Who said anything about once saved always saved? The person who thinks they can live in sin and be saved at the same time is a hyper-gracer. They are deceived. John plainly said the person who does that is not born again.

I don't boast about works because the people who see them do all the boasting and glorifying of God from what I do through the Spirit.

"16“Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven."-Matthew 5:16

Guy, you've been resisting the wrong person. I agree with the part of your Calvinist once saved always saved doctrine that says the person who has no life of works/love for Christ is not born again. Haven't you noticed how many here do NOT agree with that?????

Salvation is a free gift. Christ will usher those who have that free gift, as evidenced by their life of love for Him, into the kingdom. He doesn't do that because their life earned that for them. Their life shows that they have the free gift of salvation and so they will inherit the kingdom when he returns.

And in answer to your question, you know that God's love is in you by whether or not you live a life of obedient love. John said so. But so many in the church say John was wrong about that and that not only are those who have no life of obedience saved, but even the one who has gone back to not believing will be saved when Jesus comes back. This is the new once saved always saved in the church today. Calvinistic once saved always saved is being abandoned in favor of this new grace doctrine.

You switch sides TOO EASILY. Like one who will tell anyone what they think you want to hear. I think you are one who just wants to keep the argument going. As for where I am from, your final statement, is not true, ONE SAVED ALWAYS SAVED is the DOMINATE type of Church hear. But this is the part of BIBLE BELT. What do you mean by "new grace doctrine"?

There is no such thing as a hyper-gracer........a coined phrase by all who trust themselves and their works while constantly pointing to themselves and their works instead of CHRIST and HIS Work....

now we are talking....GLORY HOUNDS or CAINOLOGISTS......

Yeah I know......save it....your belief does not even scrape the bottom of my list as possibly valid.....

Assurance that we are really saved comes from what we do

Are you making the point that you can deny Christ and you are still saved using Peter as the example? Yet, you're bashing me for putting words in your mouth that you say you can deny Christ and still be saved? You're not rational.

You can kiss traditional once saved always saved goodbye. It's being quickly replaced by the new once saved always saved that says a 'believer' can deny Christ and go back to his old life (or have never left it) and they are still saved because salvation is not by works.

The epitome of his gospel.....exactly why he constantly points to works.....Catholics do the same thing........as do many so called Christian religions.....constantly pointing to themselves and what they do instead of Christ and what he has done and does.....the following states a multitude about his gospel

If you had eyes to see you'd see that the Bible plainly says the person who is still living in his old life is not born again.

If anybody claims to know Christ but does not do right, they are not born again. John said that, not me. The person who is living in sin (as opposed to the person growing out of sin) is not born again.

If you had eyes to see you would know the following is false and denies JESUS and HIS WORK on our behalf...
