Our lives show if we have been justified by faith in Jesus apart from works. No change of life indicates no justification by faith has occurred.

Dead faith can not save because it shows we have not been justified by faith apart from works.
What is it that would prove these things to you Ralph? And can you state how your faith is living? How did your life change?

I don't buy this....why? Because there is only one valid gospel message under the sun that saves a man....not two, three or even 50......the bible is clear....our salvation is based entirely upon faith......anything after faith is rewarded accordingly....the word is misthos = pay or wages.....

God said clearly....WHEN I SEE THE BLOOD I WILL PASS OVER YOU {in judgment}

It is not the works God is looking for...he is looking for faith and the blood........and at the end of the day it is evident by the bible that the saved Children of GOD will be found with every sort of work to be found under the sun and we will be rewarded accordingly...yet SALVATION is secure because it is based upon the promises, power and faith of CHRIST because his righteousness has been put to OUR ACCOUNT by faith.

1 Corinthians 13:1-13 If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing. Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known. And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

James 2:26 As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead.

Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man. For God will bring every deed into judgment, including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil.

You can't separate the above verse from the one immediately following it...

27“I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will be careful to observe My ordinances."-Ezekiel 36:27

The result of having a new heart is that it causes you to follow God's commands. Where we see an ever increasing obedience to God's commands is where the new heart resides. Works show you to have a new heart through faith in Christ. No change of life means no change of heart through Christ by faith has occurred.
A new heart for Israel to look to the law. The law....

A new creation for spiritual Israel tomlook to the Head, being part of His body.

There is much fear in what you say, and in how you speak to others. Tell me, does God tell you to say the things that you do? Is it aligned to God? Do you ever ask yourself that before you write?

If Satan wanted to try to disconnect people from God, what would he say? What would he use? Love? Fear?

You can be retaliatory, or defensive, but is that what God asks of you?

I say that in kindness.

well no one here is teaching faith would ever be apart from works. So not sure what point you would make.

Be careful talking with God. Satan comes as an angel of light, you might no0t know it, but it may be satan himself.

There are rare cases that someone is genuinely saved but needs mentoring, there is a change but they need some time, care and nurturing. Luke 13:6-9
I think the verses refer to Israel as a nation.

I would say however that when someone professes faith in Jesus they should be discipled.

Matthew 28:19-20
19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.

Jesus said, go, baptise and teach.

I do believe that genuine believers can and do struggle because they have not been birthed properly.
They may walk contrary to their new nature.

So fruit and maturity may talk longer.
Mainly because did so long they have walked that way.

A simple example and case in point is the purpose of this thread, Not By Works.

If someone has been told it's their works that saves, then we walk in that.
Many do and for a long time, me being case in point.

Many do works in order to be loved by God. They don't God loves them so much.

Life's experiences, baggage, hurts, pains all add to the problem.
How can you love or know the the love of the Father in heaven if your life experiences with you earthly parents had led to emotional damage and no experience of love.

Life experiences will affect our walk.

We need to be spiritual doctors to the new born but also to those not birthed correctly, the walking wounded.

Go make disciples, baptise them and teach them my ways.
That's the command.

On a side note, I do not believe baptism saves, but I do believe that we need to baptise those who come to Jesus ASAP.
To me it's a spiritual marker.

This does not change the fact that you have to have works when Jesus returns or you show yourself to not be saved.

That's what people need to know so they will not be deceived and led astray into a doctrine that so many people use to rationalize dead faith as being able to save.
This is still OT thinking. Works required at the GWT judgement. What is required at the Bema seat? The divine image within. Called Holy Spirit. Spiritual works. Actually this is wrong as far as the word requirement. The work of blood is required.

I just stated a point. And it is scary, most people I know who said God talked to them, you listen to what they say, and you KNOW God did not talk to them. But they will insist he did.

And you did not answer my question. No one here states a person who has faith will be void of work. So what point are youy trying to make?

I don't fully understand the end of time interpretations.
I get lost with it, pre- post- a millennium.

Does one research this just because there are interested or because it impacts us and the church?
Short end of the stick.....

Every word is inspired and profitable 2nd Timothy 3:16-17

An interesting fact.....

There are over 1500 prophecies of Christ' return in the bible....for every O.T. reference there are 8 N.T. references.....

My personal view....it is in the bible and Jesus seen fit to give us the above and states that every word is profitable....yes it can be mind boggling and a difficult row to hoe if you will, but without a doubt it was given for us to study and understand.....in all fairness I will say that I had the imminent return crammed down my throat as a kid, believed it and dogmatically defended it.....then I started studying without influence and preconceived ideals......I have changed my mind and have written a book on the subject found in my blog on this site.....I do not believe in the imminent return, but rather post great tribulation/pre-wrath ingathering of the saints.....That is all I will say and I will not argue with anyone....the clues are there, the verbiage is clear and honesty is a must if one wants to understand..........just saying.....

This was prophesying the New Covenant under Christ, and the Law they were to look to was the Law of Christ, not the Mosaic Law they already had.

It is like they do not listen....how many times have we said that fruit and works are the direct result of the faith and salvation one has, but not the means of said salvation.....within this truth is the fact that the saved will have both works of gold, silver and precious stones and also works of wood, hay and stubble that gets crispy fried and yet BOTH are eternally saved by the initial act of faith without works........I mean...how difficult is it to grasp that simple truth.....

I love history and I love prophesy, that’s what I study it. I do not think it really affects anyone but those alive when it happens. Although we are told two be ready, the lord comes as a thief. So I would not right it off completely.
He only comes as a thief to those who are in darkness........and the context is the last few verses of chapter 4...the resurrection/change

Now as to the times and the epochs, brethren, you have no need of anything to be written to you. For you yourselves know full well that the day of the Lord will come just like a thief in the night. While they are saying, "Peace and safety!" then destruction will come upon them suddenly like labor pains upon a woman with child, and they will not escape.
But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.

Luke 10:25-37 The Parable of the good samaritan On one occasion an expert in the law stood up to test Jesus. “Teacher,” he asked, “WHAT MUST I DO TO INHERIT ETERNAL LIFE?” “What is written in the Law?” he replied. “How do you read it?” He answered: “‘LOVE the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’; and, ‘LOVE your neighbor as yourself.’” “You have answered correctly,” Jesus replied. DO THIS AND YOU WILL LIVE.” But he wanted to justify himself, so he asked Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?” In reply Jesus said: “A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, when he fell into the hands of robbers. They stripped him of his clothes, beat him and went away, leaving him half dead. A PRIEST happened to be going down the same road, and when he saw the man, he PASSED BY ON THE OTHER SIDE. So too, a LEVITE, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side. But a Samaritan, as he traveled, came where the man was; and when he saw him, he took pity on him. He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he put the man on his own donkey, took him to an inn and took care of him. The next day he took out two silver coins and gave them to the innkeeper. ‘Look after him,’ he said, ‘and WHEN I RETURN, I will REIMBURSE you for any extra expense you may have.’ “Which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of robbers?” The expert in the law replied, “The one who had MERCY on him.” Jesus told him, “GO AND DO LIKEWISE.”

2 John 1:6 And this is love: that we walk in obedience to his commands. As you have heard from the beginning, his command is that you walk in love.

Proverbs 30:5-6 “EVERY WORD OF GOD IS FLAWLESS; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him. DO NOT ADD TO HIS WORDS, or he will rebuke you and prove you a liar.”

[SUP]31 [/SUP]“But when the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the angels with Him, then He will sit on His glorious throne. [SUP]32 [/SUP]All the nations will be gathered before Him; and He will separate them from one another, as the shepherd separates the sheep from the goats; [SUP]33 [/SUP]and He will put the sheep on His right, and the goats on the left.
[SUP]34 [/SUP]“Then the King will say to those on His right, ‘Come, you who are blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. [SUP]35 [/SUP]For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me something to drink; I was a stranger, and you invited Me in; [SUP]36 [/SUP]naked, and you clothed Me; I was sick, and you visited Me; I was in prison, and you came to Me.’ [SUP]37 [/SUP]Then the righteous will answer Him, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry, and feed You, or thirsty, and give You something to drink? [SUP]38 [/SUP]And when did we see You a stranger, and invite You in, or naked, and clothe You? [SUP]39 [/SUP]When did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’ [SUP]40 [/SUP]The King will answer and say to them, ‘Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me.’[SUP] 41 [/SUP]“Then He will also say to those on His left, ‘Depart from Me, accursed ones, into the eternal fire which has been prepared for the devil and his angels; [SUP]42 [/SUP]for I was hungry, and you gave Me nothing to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me nothing to drink; [SUP]43 [/SUP]I was a stranger, and you did not invite Me in; naked, and you did not clothe Me; sick, and in prison, and you did not visit Me.’ [SUP]44 [/SUP]Then they themselves also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not take care of You?’ [SUP]45 [/SUP]Then He will answer them, ‘Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.’ [SUP]46 [/SUP]These will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”

If this is the GWT judgement and no believers are at this judgement why does the King separate them into 2 different groups and tell us that one group goes into eternal punishment and the other group goes into eternal life?
Short version. The God worshipped in nations will declare either sheep or goats. Within nations there would be both. The BODY OF CHRIST will be with Him.

1 John 1:5-10 Walking in the Light This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. IF WE CLAIM to have fellowship with him YET WALK IN THE DARKNESS, we lie and do not live by the truth. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin. If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word has no place in our lives.

Matthew 5:14-16 “You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your GOOD DEEDS and praise your Father in heaven.

We are attached to him, an so will we know and will rejoice upon his arrival. We will bow on our knees and confess with our tongue that he is Lord.

It was for Israel in a mental way. Remember them standing to hear the Word of the Lord, and they all answered, all these words we will do? A compliant heart within, but not always faithful to it.

A new creation man or woman is Spirit, interwoven with the seed of Jesus, Word- sperma, producing the divine image- Sons.

This is my passion. Sonship. But, is not the threads topic.

One of many verses that point to the Day of the Lord, before the wrath of God is unleashed truth.
