It seems to me Ralphie, that you are also saying..... that sin and lack of works soils the linen?
No, unbelief does that. Or more accurately, unbelief is like stepping out of the clothing of Christ altogether.

Jesus is the linen. It is His righteousness not ours.
I agree. HIS righteousness is seen in OUR deeds.
I believe that's the breastplate of righteousness Paul talks about in Ephesians 6:14, or at least includes that, and it's the harvest of righteousness James talks about in James 3:18.

This seems to be the point that people in the church don't see. We have the righteousness of Christ. Nobody misunderstands that. But the fact that our deeds are the righteousness of Christ manifest in us isn't grasped so easily.

People seem to be afraid that if you say your deeds are righteous you're taking some kind of credit for it. Not true at all. The boast of our works is in Christ, not us. What we do right is the righteousness of Christ shining out from us in actual deeds, by the Spirit. The deeds he walked in.

Let us read the word of the Lord together...

"11“But when the king came in to look over the dinner guests, he saw a man there who was not dressed in wedding clothes, 12and he said to him, ‘Friend, how did you come in here without wedding clothes?’ And the man was speechless. 13“Then the king said to the servants, ‘Bind him hand and foot, and throw him into the outer darkness; in that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’ 14“For many are called, but few are chosen.”"-Matthew 22:11-14

"the marriage of the Lamb has come and His bride has made herself ready.” 8It was given to her to clothe herself in fine linen, bright and clean; for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints."-Revelation 19:7-8

"they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb."-Revelation 7:14

This shows that you have to have works when Jesus comes back or you show that you do not have eternal life in you and so you will not inherit the kingdom. That's not a works gospel.

Your 'clothing' shows whether or not you have washed in the blood of the Lamb. Many will be sent to the fiery place because they thought they were properly 'dressed' to enter into the wedding feast and that their works 'didn't matter'. But as the passage says, they will instead be cast out into eternal damnation.

They weren't as saved as they thought they were. They ignored the signs in their life that showed they really weren't ready. All thanks to a seducing spirit in the church that lied to them and said their works don't matter because once you are saved you are always saved.
Washed our robes in His blood. This is what we all are saying. And white is light. Look at the Greek. It is to be filled with the Lightnof the world, the Spirit of Jesus. Holy Spirit. Filled people are those whom the anointed works of God flow through. Like the cup of cold water. Can be actual water. Can be the refreshing of Spirit filled words of life to a thirsty soul.

by the way, spots and wrinkles are false doctrines, works of flesh. Stains on the Bride. The Lord is cleaning us up.

It is not Christlike that is for sure. Would Jesus do that?
Paul said what I said. That's where I got it from. Was he not being Christ like for telling the Corinthians the truth about the physical penalty for abusing the body of Christ?

This PC gospel has got to go. We've departed from the truths of the Bible and we don't even know it. And we can't even see that we have departed from it when we are shown.

We need another Elijah to put the false prophets and teachers in the church away (no, not literally kill them) and bring us back to the truth in our Bibles. We need to cut off the 'eyes' and 'hands' in the church that are leading little ones who believe in Jesus to stumble and go to the eternal fire.

(completing my thought...)

No light shining could mean you have no light to shine. Works do matter. If you don't see light in you, examine yourself to see if you've even got the light of Jesus in you to begin with or if you've been doing a really good job of quenching the Spirit by putting a cover over your light.

I'm making sure people know to have wedding clothes on in preparation for the wedding feast when Jesus comes back. You're telling them faith that is alone when Jesus comes back is enough.

breastplate of truth. Loins girded about with righteousness.

but, salvation the helmet of the Head. He protecting us, and working within us in renewing our mind. The mark of God.

Have the faith that justifies. Have the faith that works. Be ready when Jesus comes back. Have the faith that loves.

"The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love."-Galatians 5:6

The faith that is alone, having no works, is not the faith that saves.

Yep. No renewal may mean you don't have the helmet of salvation you think you do. So make sure you do have it.....be renewed. Live a renewed life. Then you don't have to wonder. You'll know that you are ready to meet Jesus when he returns. Make your calling and election sure......live it out. Then we won't have to start a thread about you after you die wondering if you were really saved or not.

Come on! Why do people not believe the word of God?????

Tell me why you disagree with Paul.

I've been saying this over and over and over to myself. The church has departed from the word of God. It took me many years but I finally came to the sober realization that what the church believes and teaches is far different than what the Bible actually says. We just gloss over those parts that don't fit with what we've been taught. This is a perfect example.
Now you are totally out of orbit, you respond to Rosemary's feelings toward your cancer remarks and somehow Paul has something to do with this, you are clearly hiding behind scripture to seem correct and justified, that's sad.

How can you even begin to understand the woed when you cannot even understand plain English....trust Jesus by faith...then you might be able to see.....!

I still for th life of me wonder why anyone even responds to him anymore. He is just here to cause discord. Like the many who came before him.
He lies about people. Then blame shifts, just like Peter was apt to do.
Because the Righteousness of the Holy spirit towards such foolishness compels us to do so.

"A man scatters seed on the ground. Night and day, whether he sleeps or gets up, the seed sprouts and grows, though he does not know how."-Mark 4:26-27

"neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow. The one who plants and the one who waters have one purpose, and they will each be rewarded according to their own labor."

their work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light."-1 Corinthians 3:7-8

When Jesus comes back we will see in whom the word of God was planted and came to fruition, and the worker will receive his reward.

Oh, look. It's 35 lurking now.

The clothes being the blood of Jesus and accepting of Salvation through accepting him as Saviour and Lord, and the feast is not to be prepared by us for it is already prepared by our Master all we need do is attend Trusting our Master and "Obeying" our Master by accepting "His invitation".

Rosemary trembles at the word of God. She hears.

Good luck with your faith that is alone, people. It won't save you when Jesus comes back.

You aren't looking at Jesus. Nor have you mentioned His blood sacrifice.
