Hello FD, nice to meet you and welcome to this thread :). Some comments for your consideration below.

Who are the BELIEVERS? If you profess you BELIEVE but do not FOLLOW are you a BELIEVER of the Word of God?

Where in all the scriptures of God's Word does it say that Jesus is a Sabbath?

What law is Hebrews 10 talking about?

Really? What is going to happen at the 2nd coming?

And yet there is no scripture support in all this Chapter saying that Jesus is a Sabbath? God's Word says; those who did not enter into God's Sabbath rest was because of their UNBELIEF and DISOBEDIENCE to God's Word. Only those who BELIEVE and FOLLOW God's Word are his people and these are those who enter into God's Sabbath rest.

Your not resting if God if you are livinjg a life of SIN and breaking God's Commandments. SIN will keep all who practice it OUT of the KINGDOM of HEAVEN. Only those who BELIEVE and FOLLOW the WORD of GOD are his people and enter into God's Sabbath rest which the Word of God says is the 7th Day of the Week (Exodus 20:8-11)

Where does it say in the bible Jesus is a Sabbath? The scripture you quotes says.......

Matthew 12
8,
For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day.

This says Jesus is the Lord of the Sabbath DAY. So this is the "LORDS DAY"! It does not say that Jesus is a Sabbath. The Sabbath is the 7th Day of the creation week it is a DAY made HOLY for rest and no work is to be done on it. God's 4th commandment is one of the ten (Exodus 20:8-11) If we knowingly break it when God asks us not to we stand guilty before God of committing sin (James 2:8-12). If we do not seek him in repentance and forgiveness we are in danger of the Judgement (Hebrews 10:26-27)

You seem a bit confused here the scripture reads as.........

Hebrews 4
9,
There remaineth therefore a REST to the people of God.
10, For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.

Please go back and look at the Greek meaning of the word "rest" used in Heb 4:9 its meaning is resting through keeping of a Sabbath or Sabbath observance. (I have provided Greek links below)

Hebrew 4:9 “There remaineth therefore a [Sabbath] rest [SUP]4520[/SUP] to the people of God.” (NAS; Heb 4:9)

The Greek word literally means “Sabbath keeping” or “Sabbath observance.” (links below)
Strong's Concordance 4520
sabbatismos: a sabbath rest Original Word: σαββατισμός, οῦ, ὁ Part of Speech: Noun, Masculine Transliteration: sabbatismos Phonetic Spelling: (sab-bat-is-mos') Short Definition: a Sabbath rest
Definition: a keeping of the Sabbath, a Sabbath rest.

Strong's Greek 4520

σαββατισμὸς — 1 Occ.
Hebrews 4:9N-NMS GRK: ἄρα ἀπολείπεται σαββατισμὸς τῷ λαῷ NAS: there remains a Sabbath rest for the people
KJV: therefore a rest to the people INT: Then remains a sabbath rest to the people

Thayer's Greek Lexicon
STRONGS NT 4520: σαββατισμός σαββατισμός, σαββατισμου, ὁ (σαββατίζω to keep the sabbath); 1. a keeping sabbath. 2. the blessed rest from toils and troubles looked for in the age to come by the true worshippers of God and true Christians (R. V. sabbath rest): Hebrews 4:9
. (Plutarch, de superstit. c. 3; ecclesiastical writings.)

Yes indeed only God's Word is true and we should believe and follow it.

....................

There is not one scripture in all of God's Word that says that God's 4th Commandment is now ABOLISHED and we are now commanded to KEEP Sunday as a Holy day.

Sunday worship is a tradition and teaching of man that has lead many to break the commandments of God. Jesus says that if we follow the traditions of man that break the commandments of God we are not following God (Matthew 15:3-9)

Who should we follow the teachings and traditions of men or the Word of God? Who should we believe the Words of men or the Word of God?

real theology can answer questions. especially simple questions. you have been asked a very simple question about cooking on the Sabbath. you refuse to answer. your ellen white theology is not real.

Hello gb9

Please read post # 3654. It is sad for you that you tell lies here on the forum. Your talent seems to be following in the footsteps of your master who is the father of lies and unless you repent of your sins there will be no place for you in God's Kingdom. You teach against God's LAW and the prophets this is something Jesus never did.

o.k. the post from you that you referenced says Israel was given twice as much Mana, so that none had to be gathered on the Sabbath. so, that does not answer the question. does God directly provide you with food?

I do not lie about Scripture. I do my best to rightly divide it. there are over 33,000 verses in the Bible. you have to balance them. no N.T verses say " keep the Sabbath ".

John said in his first letter that the commands were to believe in the name of the Son and love one another. no Sabbath

the works of the flesh? no keeping the Sabbath was not listed. the fruits of the Sprit? Sabbath keeping was not listed as one.

I could go on, but you get the picture.

Hebrews 4:9 comes kinda close - "It is therefore the duty of the people of God to keep the sabbath."

How do we know if we know God or if someone is from God..........

10, In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.

So it is very clear from God's Word who his poeple areand from what you are teaching it seems you are not one of them.

God's poeple are those who through FAITH LOVE Jesus and KEEP his Commandments (John 14:15)

How can you rightly divide the Word of truth when you ignore the Old Testament scriptures which are the foundation that the New Testament scriptures are built upon? Now you deny that the NEW Testament scriptures teach more about God's Sabbath.

So in your view in the NEW Testament....

1. Jesus did not teach that it is lawful to do GOOD on the Sabbath? (Matt 12:1-8; 10-12; 24:20; Mark 3:1-5; Luke 6:1-10; 13:14-16; 14:1-5; John 7:22-23; 9:14; Mark 1:21; Mark 6:2; Luke 4:16; 31; Luke 14:1; 23:56)

2. In your view, Jesus did not teach that God's Sabbath was made for man kind and not man for the Sabbath rebuking the tradtions of the Jew in regards to their interpretation around Sabbath keeping? (Mark 2:27-28; Matthew 12:8)

3. In your view, Jesus did not teach that he was the maker and creator of the Sabbath and the God of creation? (Hebrews 1:2; John 1:1-3; 14; Ephesians 3:9; Colossians 1:16-17; Mark 2:27)

4. In your view, Paul did not teach that those who did not BELIEVE and FOLLOW God's WORD did not enter into God's Sabbath rest? (Hebrews 3-4)

5. In your view Jesus is NOT our example and we should follow him just like all the disciples followed him by keeping God's Sabbath? (1 Peter 2:21; Luke 4:16; Acts 13:14; 13:27; 13:44; 15:21; 16:13; 17:2; 18:4; Rev 1:10)

6. Jesus is not Lord of the Sabbath day? (Matthew 12:8; Mark 2:27-28)

It seems God's Word disagrees with you my friend. How can you rightly divide the Word of God when you ignore the Old testament scriptures that the NEW Testament is built on? These are the two witnesses and both of them disagree with you.

Sunday is the replacement day for many that has been fortold in the prophecies of Daniel 7:25 that has led many to forget God's 4th Commandment. My statement is that God's 4th commandment is to keep the 7th day of the week as a Holy day. Sunday is not a replacement for it. You left out the first part of the statement.

How good that Jesus Christ has accomplished an actual and effective salvation for you! Right? Because otherwise you might be condemned to hell under the Law!
It is good news indeed. However, Jesus does not save us to continue in SIN but saves a sinner from SIN in those who BELIEVE the great physician. Many do not KNOW the meaning.

you quoted 1st John 2 about command keeping. yet, as always, you fail to keep reading. in chapter 3 of the same letter, John says that the commands are to believe on the name of the Son and love one another. no Sabbath mentioned.

so, it is safe to say that John the Beloved , a jewish man who knew all about the Sabbath, intended to say Sabbath there, he would have.

Rest in Jesus!
You can't enjoy the rest if you reject the gift.
A time given to set aside our cares and focus on what God has done.
This rest given in the day made holy at creation is only fully appreciated by those that accept it.
Praise the Lord for the time He has given me to spend with Him each Sabbath. Every day i spend time with my Lord but the Sabbath rest is different because it is set aside and prepared for like a date that you look forward to.

Sabbath abservance, Israel & Gentiles

On Mt Sinai at the 1st Pentecost, when Moses give's the Law. The Nation of Israel is born. This is a covenant between God & Israel.

Gentiles were never a part of this law covenant: Rom 2:14 (A) For when the Gentiles, which have not the law,

Exodus 31:16 Wherefore """the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath""", to observe the sabbath """throughout their generations""", for a perpetual covenant.

17 """It is a sign between me and the children of Israel""" for ever: for in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed.
(NOTE: Sabbath abservance is between God & Israel. Gentiles NEVER had a law covenant w/God)

Nehemiah 9:13 Thou camest down also upon mount Sinai, and spakest with them from heaven, and gavest them right judgments, and true laws, good statutes and commandments:

14 And madest known unto them thy holy sabbath, and commandedst them precepts, statutes, and laws, by the hand of Moses thy servant
(NOTE: These LAW statutes & commandments: were given to & BEGAN with Moses & Israel "NOT BEFORE" after the deliverence from Egypt. Read the verses piror to 13 & 14 for futher clarity)

Deuteronomy 5:15 And remember that thou wast a servant in the land of Egypt, and that the LORD thy God brought thee out thence through a mighty hand and by a stretched out arm: therefore the LORD thy God commanded thee to keep the sabbath day.
(NOTE: The Sabbath commandment came after the deliverence from Egypt. And was given only to the Nation of Israel)

Conclusion:
Sabbath observance did not precede the Law of Moses. God's requirement for ""Israel"" to keep the Sabbath does not exist until after the deliverance from Egyptian bondage. And gentiles were never a part of this Law Covenant.

Hello brother LGF,

you keep saying love God mean do His command,

What is command mean?

If God ask you to do something, mean God command you.

This is one of His command

Numbers 15

35 And the Lord said unto Moses, The man shall be surely put to death: all the congregation shall stone him with stones without the camp.

Do you love God?

love God mean do His command

why don't you kill sabbath violator? To prove that you love God

Righteousness, Justification, Faith & Law Keeping
Gal 2:21 I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.
(NOTE: If righteousness comes thru law keeping, then Christ died in vain)

Galatians 2:16 A man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.
(NOTE: People are justified = "Declared Righteousness by God Himself" Thru the FAITH of & in Christ. NOT thru law keeping)

Gal 3:6 Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.
(NOTE: God declared Abraham Righteous thru/by his FAITH)

11 But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith.
(No person is justified = "Declared Righteousness by God Himself" by law keeping. Justification comes thru Faith)

14 That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
(NOTE: Gentiles enter into God's promise made to Abraham. By Faith placed in Christ's redemptive work)

17 And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect.
(NOTE: God made a "By Faith" PROMISE to Abraham, 430 years, before Moses give's the law to Israel. The law DOES NOT ANNUL God's earlier promise)

24 Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.
(NOTE: The law was to teach of & reveal sin. Leading to justification = "Declared Righteousness by God Himself". Which come by Faith placed in Christ's redemptive work)

25 But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.
(NOTE: Now that the laws price for sin (DEATH) has been paid by Christ. The old sin teacher (Mr. Law) is no longer needed/valid)

26 For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.
(NOTE: Everyone becomes a child of God, by Faith placed in Christ's redemptive work. Not thru law keeping)

Rom 3:21 But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;
(NOTE: Now! Righteousness without law keeping is made manifest/revealed)

Rom 3:22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:
(NOTE: Righteousness comes thru/by Faith placed in Christ's redemptive sin payment. NOT THRU/BY LAW KEEPING)

Rom 10:3 For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.

Rom 10:4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.
(NOTE: Christ's redemptive sin payment. Ends becoming righteous by law keeping)

JESUS CAME TO FULFIL THE LAW:
Matthew 5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
(NOTE: Anyone claiming the law has not been fulfilled. Claims Messiah failed at his mission)

WILL OF THE FATHER:
Matt 7:21 Jesus said; Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; """"but he that doeth the will of my Father"""" which is in heaven.

HOW WE DO THE WILL OF THE FATHER:
John 6:40 Jesus said; This is the will of him that sent me, that every one which """seeth the Son, and believeth on him""", may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.
(NOTE: The will of the Father is: Place your Faith in the redemptive sin atoning sacrifice. Found in Christ's death (SINS PAYMENT) burial & resurrection (GODS RECEIPT PAYMENT RECEIVED)

Phil 3:9 And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:

Titus 3:5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;

2 Tim 1:9 Who hath saved us, & called us with an holy calling, not according to our works but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,

Ep 2:8-9
8 By grace" are ye saved through faith not of yourselves it is the gift of God
9 Not of works lest any man should boast

Galatians 5:4 Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.
(NOTE: Anyone seeking justification thru law keeping. Has fallen from GRACE)
