Succintly... unbelief is the root of sin. Paul states it plainly in Romans Chapter One

Well that is not true whatsoever. Please tell me what SIN is? If you do not know what SIN is how can you know the Gospel?

Succintly... unbelief is the root of sin. Paul states it plainly in Romans Chapter One
Indeed and is why we should BELIEVE and FOLLOW God's WORD. Unbelievers have no part in the KINGDOM of HEAVEN because they are still in their SIN and have rejected the GIFT of God's dear son....

WHAT IS SIN?

James 2
8, If ye fulfill the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself, ye do well:
9, But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors.
10, For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.
11 For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, YOU ARE BECOME A TRANSGRESSOR OF GOD'S LAW
James is pretty clear if we brake ANY of God's Law (10 commandments) then we are a TRANSGRESSOR of God's LAW

links to...........

1 John 3
4 Whosoever commits SIN transgresses also the law: for SIN is the transgression of the law.
John is in agreement with James and states that if we TRANSGRESS God's LAW then we commit SIN because SIN IS THE TRANSGRESSION OF GOD'S LAW. So it is very clear that SIN is breaking ANY of God's LAW (10 commandments)
Links to...........

Romans 7

7 What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known SIN, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet.

Well here we have Paul in agreement with James and John also telling us that SIN is breaking God's commandments and uses the 10th commandment as an example of breaking any of God's LAW (10 commandments) = SIN (Exodus 20:17)

Links to............

Romans 3

20, Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: FOR BY THE LAW IS THE KNOWLEDGE OF SIN.
Once again Paul is in agreement with John and James which all agree together that if we break any of God's LAW (10 commandments) we commit SIN because as James, John and Paul all agree together that SIN is breaking ANY of God's 10 commandments.

God's Word is in disagreement with you my friend. SIN is the transgression of God's LAW (10 commandments)

God's 4th commandment is one of the ten (Exodus 20:8-11) and like any of the ten, if we knowingly break it when God asks us not to we stand guilty before God of committing sin (James 2:8-12). If we do not seek him in repentance and forgiveness we are in danger of the Judgement (Hebrews 10:26-27)

There is not one scripture in ALL of God's WORD that says God's 4th commandment is now ABOLISHED and we are now commanded to worship God on Sunday in it's place.

Sunday worship is a tradition and teaching of man that has lead many to break the commandments of God. Jesus says that if we follow the traditions of man that break the commandments of God we are not following God (Matthew 15:3-9)

....................

God's Word says SIN in breaking God's LAW; Now that we have the definition of Sin from God’s WORD let’s connect some of the scriptures…..

1 John 3
3,
And every man that hath this hope in him purifies himself, even as he is pure.
4, Whosoever commits sin transgresses also the law: for SIN IS THE TRANSGRESSION OF GOD'S LAW.
5, And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.
6, Whosoever abides in him
SIN<breaks God's LAW> not: whosoever SIN<breaks God's LAW> hath not seen him, neither known him.
7, Little children, let no man deceive you: he that does righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous
<Psalms 119:172 All your commandments = RIGHTEOUSNESS>.
8, He that commits
SIN<breaks God's LAW> is of the devil; for the devil sins from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
9, Whosoever is born of God DOES NOT commit
SIN<breaks God's LAW>; for his seed remains in him: and he cannot SIN<breaks God's LAW>, because he is born of God.
10, In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever does not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loves not his brother.
11, For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another.
12, Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother's righteous.
13, Marvel not, my brethren, if the world hate you.
14, We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loves not his brother abides in death.
15, Whosoever hates his brother is a
murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.

Some key points..........

v4.
SIN = Breaking God's Commandments
v6. Those who knowingly break God's commandments do not know God
v7. Don't be DECEIVED only those who DO NOT break God's commandments are is RIGHTEOUS as HE IS RIGHTEOUS
v8. If you are living in a life of KNOWN UNREPENTANT SIN you are following the DEVIL and not GOD (Acts 17:30-31; Heb 10:26:27)
v9. If you are BORN OF GOD you will NOT practice SIN
v10. LOVE AND OBEDIENCE to GOD'S LAW SHOW WHO ARE GOD'S PEOPLE and DISOBEDIENCE TO GOD'S LAW SHOW THE CHILDREN OF THE DEVIL
v15. Example of the 7th commandment (Exodus 20: 13) being broken. Those who brake God's LAW and SIN DO NOT have ETERNAL LIFE

Links to what Jesus says in Matthew..............

Matthew 7
21,
Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; BUT HE THE DOES THE WILL OF MY FATHER IN HEAVEN <FAITH THAT WORKS BY Love and OBEDIENCE>
22, Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23, And then will I profess unto them, I NEVER KNEW YOU <1 John 3:6 = has not seen him or known him because they break God's LAW and practice SIN>: DEPART FROM ME YOU WHO WORK INIQUITY (SIN)

Now all of the above is the CONTEXT of 1 John 3:23-24 which is to love one another. Now lets look at LOVE and how it links to FAITH and OBEDIENCE.

............................

ONLY FAITH THAT WORKS BY LOVE IS THE FULFILLING OF GOD'S LAW

Now let's look at the connection between the two GREAT commandments of LOVE and God's LAW (10 commandments)

You cannot separate God’s Law of love from the 10 commandments because they are connected to each other. There is no need for confusion here. God’s Word makes it very clear.

Let's have a look.......

What does Jesus say when he talk about the commandments. Jesus is quoting from Old testament scriptures of Deuteronomy 6:5 and Leviticus 19:18.................

Matthew 22
36, Master, which is the great commandment in the law?
37, Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
38, This is the first and great commandment.
39, And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.
40, ON THESE TWO COMMANDMENTS HANG ALL THE LAW AND THE PROPHETS.

Let's get clearer............

Matthew 19
16, And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?
17, And he said unto him, Why call thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: BUT IF YOU WILL ENTER INTO LIFE KEEP THE COMMANDMENTS.
18, He saith unto him, WHICH? JESUS SAID, THOU SHALT NOT MURDER, THOU SHALT NOT COMMIT ADULTERY, THOU SHALT NOT STEAL, THOU SHALT NOT LIE, HONOR YOU MOTHER AND FATHER AND THOU SHALT LOVE THY NEIGHBOR AS THYSELF
20, The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet? 21, Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me. <Jesus showed him that he may have fulfilled His duty of love to his neighbor but not to God breaking commandment 1 and 2 loving riches more than God>

Well Jesus makes it very clear that what he is talking about it is the 10 commandments of God's Law.

What about James.........

James 2
8, If ye fulfill the royal law according to the scripture, THOU SHALT LOVE THY NEIGHBOR AS THYSELF, ye do well:
9, But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors.
10, FOR WHOSOEVER SHALL KEEP THE WHOLE LAW AND YET OFFEND IN ONE POINT, HE SHALL BE GUILTY OF ALL.
11, FOR HE THAT SAID, DO NOT COMMIT ADULTERY SAID ALSO DO NOT KILL. NOW IF YOU DO NOT COMMIT ADULTERY AND YOU KILL, YOU HAVE BECOME A TRANSGRESSOR OF GOD'S LAW.

12, So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty.

Well James makes it very clear what he is talking about when he talks about the Royal Law of love. He is talking about the 10 commandments. So Jesus and James both agree that they are talking about God's 10 commandments which also include the 4th commandment which is one of the ten.

What about Paul? He wrote a lot of books in God's Word........

Romans 13
8, Owe no man anything, but to LOVE ONE ANOTHER: for HE THAT LOVES ANOTHER HAS FULFILLED THE LAW.
9, For this, THOU SHALT NOT COMMIT ADULTERY, THOU SHALT NOT KILL, THOU SHALT NOT STEAL, THOU SHALT NOT LIE, THOU SHALT NOT COVET; and IF THERE SHALL BE ANY OTHER COMMANDMENT, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, THOU SHALT LOVE THY NEIGHBOR AS THYSELF.
10, Love works no ill to his neighbor: therefore LOVE IS THE FULFILLING OF THE LAW.

Paul makes it very clear what he is talking about as well when he is talking about God's Law. It seems like Jesus, James and Paul all agree together what it is they are referring to when talking about God's Law. They are all referring to God's 10 commandments which includes the 4th commandment which is one of the ten (Exodus 20:1-17)

So now that God's Word shows us what it is referring to. No need to guess, what are talking about, God’s Law of Love is God's 10 commandments. It is only through Faith that works by love that anyone can walk in the Spirit which produces the fruit of obedience because love is the fulfilling of God’s Law in those that walk by faith and not by sight.

So it looks like Jesus, James, Paul and John all agree together so it is unanimous that God's Law (10 commandments) are all tied to LOVE which is the power of God unto salvation through Faith. The FRUIT of FAITH is OBEDIENCE and the fulfilling of God's LAW in the hearts of those who walk by FAITH in the SPIRIT (Romans 8:1-4)

So my friend the FRUIT of FAITH is OBEDIENCE to God's LAW (10 commandments) If you have no FRUIT then you need to be aware that your tree will be CUT DOWN. It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God (Hebrews 10:26-27; 31)

Still disagree? please show me your scriptures.

...................

In times of ignorance God winks at but now calls all men everywhere to repent
(Acts 17:30-31). God's Word says if we break one of the ten we stand guilty before God of breaking all the commandments of God (James 2:8-12). God's 4th commandment is one of the ten (Exodus 20:8-11) and if we break it like any of the other commandments we stand guilty before God of SIN (Exodus 20:1-17).

If we break any of God’s Laws we stand guilty before God in SIN (James 2:11; Romans 7:7; 1 John 3:4; Romans 3:20). This includes the 4th commandment which is one of the ten (Exodus 20:8-11)

Sunday worship is a tradition and teaching of man that has lead many to break the commandments of God. Jesus says that if we follow the traditions of man that break the commandments of God we are not following God (Matthew 15:3-9)

Who should we follow the teachings and traditions of men or the Word of God? Who should we believe the Words of men or the Word of God?

Who will you follow?

You all have fed the troll(s) so much even Nutrisystem® won't help. :D Why not just ignore these false Ellen G White disciples? I mean, they lie for one thing, then they won't even admit to being both SDA and her followers when both are apparently true.
Now please dear accuser of the bretheren show me where I have lied to you or anyone else here or anywhere? If you cannot are you the accuser that followers the lies of the father who lies?

Those that say they hear do not hear and those that say they see do not see because spritual things come from our Father in heaven.

Those that do NOT BELIEVE and FOLLOW God's Word DO NOT know HIM who loves them. These are those that follow thier father who was a liar from the beginning. The deeds of their father they will do...

Do you know the scriptures P4T?

To LoveGodForever

Can you explain this verse to me ?

Ro 3:31 Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.
Hi OMEGA777,

Great question, (please follow the connecting scriptures). The context is being justified by faith and not the works of the law and that the purpose of God's LAW (10 Commandments) is to give a KNOWLEDGE of SIN v20

v31 is summing up the whole discussion within Romans 3 and that is that is the God's LAW abolished through FAITH? NO God's LAW is ESTABLSIHED throught FAITH.

This is the NC and the operation of God in the heart of the BELIEVER (Hebrews 8:10-12). The tables of stone (10 Commandments) written on the fleshly tables of the heart to LOVE and LOVE is the fulfilling of God's LAW in those who BELIEVE. (Ezekiel 36:26; Romans 13:8-10; James 2:8-12)

OBEDIENCE is the FRUIT of FAITH in those who BELIEVE. IF you do not have the FRUIT of FAITH your tree is cast down and thrown into the FIRE because you are still in your SINS and do not KNOW him who loves you.

.......................

God's 4th commandment is one of the ten (
Exodus 20:8-11) If we knowingly break it when God asks us not to we stand guilty before God of committing sin (James 2:8-12). If we do not seek him in repentance and forgiveness we are in danger of the Judgement (Hebrews 10:26-27)

There is not one scripture in ALL of God's WORD that says God's 4th commandment is now ABOLISHED and we are now commanded to worship God on Sunday in it's place.

I think you will find, the faith of Christ is a reference to his humanity, while our faith in Christ for justification is due to his divinity. :)
The text from 1 John 3 says, He that does righteousness is righteous even as He is righteous.

Even as is a direct comparison.

So how was Jesus righteous?

John 14: 10 tells us," But the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works."

Once more He tells us, "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father."
(Joh 14:12 KJV)

How exactly can we do the works of Jesus?

Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.
(Joh 14:17-18 KJV)

He did righteous acts through the FATHER's indwelling Spirit so that we can do righteous acts through HIS Spirit. "For HE shall dwell in us." HE has not left us comfortless. He has come. Christ in us the HOPE of Glory.

Jesus goes on to say in John seventeen.

"The glory which thou gavest me I have given them"

To further emphasize the point let's ask the question, What Glory is that?

That they may be one, even as we are one: I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.
(Joh 17:22-23 KJV)

So Christ in us and our Father in Him that we be perfect in one. The One being the FATHER through Christ. For it is GOD that works in us both to will and do HIS good pleasure EVEN AS HE did in Christ Jesus.

THIS IS FAITH OF CHRIST; HIS RELIANCE ON THE FATHER'S INDWELLING SPIRIT IN EVERYTHING HE DID.

This is what Galatians speaks of when it speaks of the Faith of Christ

For we are crucified with Christ: nevertheless we live; yet not us, but Christ liveth in us: and the life which we now live in the flesh we live by the faith of the Son of God. For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ" The full Armor of GOD (Gal 2:19-20; 3:27)

This is the Gospel. This is what it means in John 17:3, "to know the only true GOD and Jesus Christ whom HE sent." This is salvation, that the world may believe that GOD hast sent Him. (John 17:21)

This what it is all about and this what Romans is all about. The Faith of Christ.

For GOD has said, "Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (That is, to bring Christ, the Word, all that GOD would have us be. HIS Commandments down from above Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (That is, to bring up Christ, the Word, all that GOD would have us be. HIS Commandments again from the dead.) But what saith it? The word (Christ; the Word, the commandments manifested in the flesh, our flesh) is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, in thy heart, and in thy hand: that we may do it; that is, THE WORD OF FAITH, which we preach. And that is the Gospel, the Kingdom of GOD (CHRIST) in you. For GOD hath said, "This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them." And HE shall be our GOD and we shall be HIS people, for it is GOD that works in us both to will and do HIS good pleasure. Christ (the Word, His Commandments, GOD's will) in us the hope of Glory. For without this faith it is impossible to please GOD.

For God It was never about doing the written law. His intent in us has always been the Faith that worketh love. The following text show the connection between the Old Testament and New. The verses in Romans 10:6-8;Deut. 30:11-14 LXX; Hebrews 8:10,11; Jeremiah 31:33 are all speaking of GOD's gift of enabling us through HIS Spirit to be as HE would have us be. Please notice that this gift which is the Good News; the Gospel was availed to us from the beginning of Moses ministry if not even from the time of the fall in Eden. For the LORD thy GOD will circumcise thy heart and the heart of thy seed with HIS commandments and statutes contained in the book of the Law. So let's walk in the Faith, HIS Grace has enabled us.

To keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony, the faith of Jesus Christ.

Strawman much? Who says I do not?
so, the actual real Gospel ( not keep the Sabbath, that has nothing to do with the Gospel ). is trolling?

well, since you refuse to admit that you believe in the Resurrection, and declare Jesus as Lord and Savior, that makes one seriously doubt you believe it.

Yes, there is a comparison between ourselves and Jesus, but we cannot claim to have come down from heaven, or to have existed before Abraham, and neither does anyone claim about us that we are the ones responsible for creating the heavens and the earth as the apostle did.

I see shades of another in your writing. Would I be correct in that? It would explain a lot.

IF you knew what the Gospel was you would believe the Word of God. If you do not BELEIVE and FOLLOW the Word of God you do not BELIEVE or KNOW the Gospel or the heavenly father. If any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world. He that rejects me, and receives not my words, hath one that judges him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.

It is because you refuse to answer any of my questions that I do not answer you. If I do not answer you, it does not mean I believe what you say, because I have not answered you. Your claims are only a lie and a distraction from the Word of God you refuse to believe and follow. Seeing you do not see and hearing you do not hear or know him who is calling you. It is hard to kick against the pricks

this " I don't get my questions answered " strawman is sad.

as I said, you just simply just do not want to state that Jesus is Lord, that He is risen from the dead. talking about the Gospel ( believe in the Lord Jesus Christ ) does not mean you believe in it.

as I said, no point in dialogue - you do not seem to believe in Jesus for salvation, I do. if you do, say it. if not say it. stop the dance, duck, and dodge. be clear.

It seems to me, there are many with their roots in the 'ism called Judaism who seek to import their beliefs into Christianity, when in point of fact, Christianity succeeds Judaism.

A 1950's car is not a 2018 car, and neither would we want a modern car to be converted into an old wreck assuming it could be done, which cannot happen. People need to move forward out of the Mosaic era into the Christian era. Otherwise Jews will be riding round in stage coaches, while Christians living in the newly God created dispensation of the New Covenant will be flying away in jet planes.

Just my view, but the Potter has made a new pot, it is a good one and it is eternal, unlike the Old Covenant.

gb9,

The title of this thread should be Sabbath for Salvation....it always comes back to that.

I have read the OP so many times I cannot follow the logic at all, perhaps because it is so illogical.:(

Salvation is a gift there is nothing else to be said scripture is clear, it is not salvation is a gift plus keep the Sabbath, if it was true that Sabbath keeping was part of salvation I am sure Paul would have added that within that very statement.

Here you go UG, maybe you did read the scriptures which set the CONTEXT of the Chapter......

Acts 15
1,
And certain men which came down from Judaea taught the brethren, and said, Except ye be circumcised after the manner of Moses, ye cannot be saved.
2, When therefore Paul and Barnabas had no small dissension and disputation with them, they determined that Paul and Barnabas, and certain other of them, should go up to Jerusalem unto the apostles and elders about this question.
3, And being brought on their way by the church, they passed through Phenice and Samaria, declaring the conversion of the Gentiles: and they caused great joy unto all the brethren.
4, And when they were come to Jerusalem, they were received of the church, and of the apostles and elders, and they declared all things that God had done with them.
5, But there rose up certain of the sect of the Pharisees which believed, saying, That it was needful to circumcise them, and to command them to keep the law of Moses.
6, And the apostles and elders came together for to consider of this matter.

Now I think the CONTEXT of the CHAPTER is set now dont you?

The CONTEXT of the CHAPTER is CIRCUMCISION from the law of Moses (written in the book of the Covenant). Now you can choose for yourself to BELIEVE God's WORD of not it is up to you. It is the Word of God and we should BELIEVE and FOLLOW it.

You mix up God's LAW (10 Commandments) with the Mosaic laws written in the book of the law. This is what the OP is about you should read it. This only shows you do not know what the Old Covenant is. If you do not know what the Old Covenant is how can you understand what the NEW Covenant is?

No one is uder the law of Moses but it seems you do not know what the law of Moses is. It is nailed to the cross along with the sins of those who BELIEVE and FOLLOW God's WORD. God's LAW (10 commandments) however are Forever and are the standard of the OLD and NEW Covenants and the Judgement to come

This has already been answered in detail with the scriptures linked in the following posts of your interesed to see why God's Word does not agree with your interpretation of the scriptures.....

Please see posts # 3121; 3129; 3130; 3131; and the OP post 1-2

If you disagree with the above scrioptures in the linked posts above, please address each post and the scrtiptures provided in each post and your reasons with the scriptures and we will continue the conversation. If you cannot why don't you BELIEVE and FOLLOW God's Word? We should all at least be like the faithful BAREANS to see if these things are so or not, don't you think?

No one is born again if they are still practicing KNOWN UNREPENTANT SINS.

If you are still SINNING against Him who LOVES you then you are indeed under the law guilty before God of SIN (Romans 3:19) and need to seek him in REPENTANCE AND FORGIVENESS.

1 John 3
6,
Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.
7, Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.
8, He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
9, Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
10, In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.

1John 2
1,
My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous

Sin is the transgression of God's LAW (1 John 3:4; Romans 7:7; 3:20; James 2:11)

............

God's 4th commandment is one of the ten (Exodus 20:8-11) If we knowingly break it when God asks us not to we stand guilty before God of committing sin (James 2:8-12).

In times of ignorance God winks at but now calls all men every where to REPENT for the KINGDOM of HEAVEN is at HAND (Acts 17:30-31)

Hope this helps..
The 10 commandments are part of Exodus 20. They are Mosaic law. God's law is Gen 1:1 - Deut 34:12; also called the Law of Moses. God claims to have given it to Moses if you deny that, you deny the authority of Scripture. You also undermine your own credibility when you quote Scripture; because when you deny its authority you place your motives in quoting it in question!

Hi MarcR

Thanks for the response and clarifying, I will admit to being confused by how LGF separates the commandments out so I did a bit of research on SDA, I understand the framework better.

Here is what I learned with regards to their beliefs.

  1. Every time a Sabbatarian sees the expression "the commandments" or "My commandments", they automatically think exclusively of the 10 commandments! Yet here are many passages where these common expressions refer to what Sabbatarians would call "the Ceremonial Law of Moses" and NOT the 10 commandments!
The phrases "commandments", "The commandments" "my commandments", "the Lord commanded", "what Moses commanded" are uses so many times in the Old Testament in reference to what Adventists call the Ceremonial law to the exclusion of the 10 commandments, it would take 10 pages to list all the verses!
Lev 27:34 These are the commandments which the Lord commanded Moses for the sons of Israel at Mount Sinai.
Num 36:13 These are the commandments and the ordinances which the Lord commanded
Deut 30:10 obey the Lord your God to keep His commandments and His statutes which are written in this book of the law
Jesus defined the commandants to include the Law of Moses: Mt 19:17-19 Jesus said: "keep the commandments." The man replied "Which ones?" And Jesus said, "You shall love your neighbor as yourself"
  2. Every time a Sabbatarian sees the expression "Statutes, Ordinances and Decrees", they automatically exclude the 10 commandments and apply it only to what they falsely call, "the ceremonial law" Yet here are many passages where these common expressions refer to the 10 commandments exclusively: (or at least in part include)
Deut 5:1 The Ten commandments are called "My statures and all My ordinances"
Ezekiel 20:19-21 The weekly Sabbath is called "My statures and all My ordinances"
Mal 4:4 Book closes with a call to keep "statutes and ordinances" which obviously include the 10 commandments because it would be unthinkable for such a doxology to leave them out completely!
Neh 9:13-14 the weekly Sabbath is included without distinction: "right judgments, true laws, good statutes, commandments"
Lev 19:1-37 The Ten commandments and the ceremonial law are mixed together without distinction and called "My statures and all My ordinances"
Deut 5:1-6:25: Two whole chapters that deal exclusively with the 10 commandments and the following 5 terms are used interchangeably without distinction: "statutes", "ordinances", "commandments", "judgments", "testimonies".
Lev 23 The Weekly Sabbath is lumped in with all the yearly Sabbaths without distinction and they are all called "The Lord's appointed times" and "holy convocations".
Ezek 20 calls the first and fourth commandment, "My statutes and My ordinances"
Neh 8 uses interchangeably without distinction, the following terms: "the book of the law of Moses", "the law", "the book of the law", "the law of God", "book of the law of God" and includes
Col 2:14 & Eph 2:15 refer to the whole of the Old Covenant law including the ten commandments
The 10 Commandments are called "Statutes, Ordinances and Decrees"

The 10 commandments are part of Exodus 20. They are Mosaic law. God's law is Gen 1:1 - Deut 34:12; also called the Law of Moses. God claims to have given it to Moses if you deny that, you deny the authority of Scripture. You also undermine your own credibility when you quote Scripture; because when you deny its authority you place your motives in quoting it in question!

What has this got to do with the thread and the OP? How do you think you have derailed the thread with no scripture?
You have posted scripture references but they do not adresss the question as to how we are to observe the Sabbath today, under Christ.

Under the Law, people were put to death for not strictly adhering to the rules of the Sabbath law, to the point of even gathering sticks to kindle a fire meant death.

Example:

32 Now while the children of Israel were in the wilderness, they found a man gathering sticks on the Sabbath day. 33 And those who found him gathering sticks brought him to Moses and Aaron, and to all the congregation. 34 They put him under guard, because it had not been explained what should be done to him.

35 Then the Lord said to Moses, “The man must surely be put to death; all the congregation shall stone him with stones outside the camp.” 36 So, as the Lordcommanded Moses, all the congregation brought him outside the camp and stoned him with stones, and he died.
Numbers 15:32-36

What I am asking for from you, are the scriptures from the New Testament that guide and direct us as to how the Sabbath is to be observed today, so that the Church can be informed and instructed to properly observe the Sabbath today, while under Christ.

We see how it was under Moses, what we all need to know is how we are to go about our Sabbath day, under Christ.

Some helpful examples might include:

  • When does the Sabbath begin, Friday at sundown or Saturday 12:01am ?
  • What can we do? Cook, make bed, travel. How far can we travel?
  • Is it required that we attend a church service. How far away can we travel?
  • Is Synagogue attendance mandatory?
  • What is considered as work? Putting dishes on the table, or picking them up? Laundry or dishwasher?
  • When does the Sabbath under Christ, officially end. Sundown Saturday or Midnight? Any leeway in the schedule for emergencies?

Maybe you could share with us how you go about observing the Sabbath each week, with the corresponding verses that teach you from the New Testament.

Remeber when quoting scripture references such as 1 John 3:4 which says...

Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness.
1 John 3:4

This scripture says nothing about how we are to observe the Sabbath today.

If the Church doesn’t know how to go about observing the Sabbath today, then how can she properly obey the Sabbath regulations that are required?

this " I don't get my questions answered " strawman is sad.
How about this? I will answer your question if you promise to answer mine. If you say yes. I will answer you but you must answer my questions. Do we have an agreement; yes/no ?

Ahh some... Quid Pro Quo...

Some reason for this negotiation tactic?
