Are you saying that we are not righteous before salvation or are you saying we are still not righteous after salvation?
We put on the righteousness of Christ. We are covered by His righteousness. We become His righteousness. It is of Him. His, not our own. Do you believe you have righteousness of your own?

And neither do we deserve salvation because we are baptized. Faith is not an act of merit and neither is baptism but a necessary act nevertheless.

This is my point.
If getting water baptized is absolutely necessary to be saved, then that would add merit on our part to receiving salvation because then we would be saved based on the merit's of Christ's finished work of redemption "plus our baptism."

*Christ's finished work of redemption is sufficient and complete to save believers.
*No supplements needed.

Faith is not baptism and faith precedes water baptism and we are saved through faith int Christ (not faith in water baptism). It's just that simple. People who teach salvation by water baptism usually have a list of other works to "add" to the list of "additional requirements" to receiving salvation as well.

Nailed His Father's Word's to the cross? What was nailed to the cross? Colossians 2:13 - When you were dead in your transgressions and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He made you alive together with Him, having forgiven us all our transgressions, 14 having canceled out the certificate of debt consisting of decrees against us, which was hostile to us; and He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. 15 When He had disarmed the rulers and authorities, He made a public display of them, having triumphed over them through Him. 16 Therefore no one is to act as your judge in regard to food or drink or in respect to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath day — 17 things which are a mere shadow of what is to come; but the substance belongs to Christ.
So of course, if you preach the lie that the Pharisees were trying to please God by obeying Him, and that God's Laws are a burden we must be saved from, it is no wonder you continue another lie, and that is the lie that Jesus nailed God's Words to the Cross.

Col. 2:
8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

Paul is speaking to mans traditions, not God's Words.

14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;

The Gospel teaches it is traditions and doctrines of man that were against Jesus, Paul and the Gentiles. Not God's Laws. The Mainstream Preachers of His time had a LAW they created. "We have a Law, and by our Law he must die".

So they killed Him Dan. Not God, not God's Laws, but men in their own tradition, killed Him. But did He stay dead? NO!!!

God rose Him from the dead. Who condemned Jesus? God??? Did God's Laws condemn Jesus to death? Did God's Laws preach the Gentiles were still dead in their sins even after "
11 In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:"

No Dan, it was not God's Laws that condemned Jesus and the Gentiles and Paul, it was the "handwriting of ordinances" that had been preached as Law for centuries by the "Principalities and powers" of that time.

15 And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.

Many preach God was the Principality and Power that Killed Jesus? Did Jesus "Spoil" God? Or Did He spoil the mainstream religion that condemned an innocent man to death.

Many preach Jesus made a "show" of God Openly, when He rose from the dead? Or was the "THEM" Jesus made a show of the religious man made Laws that condemned Him to death.

Many preach Jesus made a show of God openly? Or is the "THEM" referring to the religion that condemned Him and Paul and the Gentiles.

This is why Jesus said to "Take Heed" Dan. Because since you believe and preach the lie that the Pharisees were trying to "Earn" Salvation by following God's burdensome Laws, you also then believe the lie that Jesus nailed His Fathers Instructions to the Cross. That Jesus "Triumphed" over God, and not over the tradition of man, and rudiments of the world that falsely condemned Him to death. Since you believe these lies, it furthers another lie.

16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:
17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.

Paul and Jesus kept and followed God's Sabbaths and Feasts and rejected the "Tradition of His Fathers" as Acts clearly shows. Since it is the religious tradition of man that caused the troubles, we are safe if we "Cling to Jesus" and the Path He walked, and reject the Mainstream religious traditions that Jesus exposed before the whole world. God's Sabbaths and instructions are from God, not man. There, let no man judge you in your honor and obedience to Him.

18 Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind.

Paul is supporting the Laws of God over the traditions of man here, telling the Gentiles not to be moved by the religious traditions and rudiments of the world that condemned them and Paul and Jesus. But you preach just the opposite, that God's Commandments are the rudiments of the World Jesus nailed to the cross. A different gospel All founded on the Lie that the Pharisees were trying to please God by obeying Him. This is why Jesus said to "Take Heed".

Lol.It is calling a stone a stone. And not calling a stone a blade of grass (watering down the picture)
No ypiknow why you give people like Ralph the right to come after you.

Would you us the term BS or the actual word if you were teaching Sunday school for kids, teens or young adults? or anyone, how about new babes in Christ?

If you so NO, then why would you deem that acceptable for this thread? or board, If you say NO, are you now a hypocrite, or admit that hey if a swear, passive sanctification does not keep your from using profanity, renewing your mind to the word and being changed inside from out and the help of the Holy Spirit does.

Well, firstly Ralph and I have NEVER interacted, although I have seen some of his posts, and secondly, I NEVER said that using profanity is a laughing matter nor did I say that it's not a big deal. Neither did I suggest that it is "perfectly legit" to use when encountering false doctrine.. So stop twisting my words. :)

You are proving why people like Ralph have an issue with you and other folks. They might be calling out they see living unchanged, despite saying your saved, which includes not controlling your mouth, and what comes out of it.

You give them ammo when you think using a little bit of profanity, is a laughable matter and not a big deal, and then further suggest it is perfectly legit when coming agaisnt false doctrine.

Yet The Bible says:

James 3:8-12

[SUP]8 [/SUP]But no one can tame the tongue; it is a restless evil and full of deadly poison. [SUP]9 [/SUP]With it we bless our Lord and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in the likeness of God; [SUP]10 [/SUP]from the same mouth come both blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not to be this way. [SUP]11 [/SUP]Does a fountain send out from the same opening both fresh and bitter water? [SUP]12 [/SUP]Can a fig tree, my brethren, produce olives, or a vine produce figs? Nor can salt water produce fresh.

Prov 10:11-
The mouth of the righteous is a fountain of life, But the mouth of the wicked conceals violence.

Prov 21:2

Every man’s way is right in his own eyes, But the Lord weighs the hearts.

Eph 4:29-
[SUP]29 [/SUP]Let no unwholesome word proceed from your mouth, but only such a word as is good for edification according to the need of the moment, so that it will give grace to those who hear.

For an OP that says on his blogs he is Pastor David E. Dixon and claims he is a teacher of the word and Seminary trained, no unwholesome thing should ever come out of his mouth.

WHY?

2 TIm 2:24-26
[SUP]24 [/SUP]The Lord’s bond-servant must not be quarrelsome, but be kind to all, able to teach, patient when wronged, [SUP]25 [/SUP]with gentleness correcting those who are in opposition, if perhaps God may grant them repentance leading to the knowledge of the truth, [SUP]26 [/SUP]and they may come to their senses and escape from the snare of the devil, having been held captive by him to do his will.

James 3:1-7
Let not many of you become teachers, my brethren, knowing that as such we will incur a stricter judgment. [SUP]2 [/SUP]For we all stumble in many ways. If anyone does not stumble in what he says, he is a perfect man, able to bridle the whole body as well. [SUP]3 [/SUP]Now if we put the bits into the horses’ mouths so that they will obey us, we direct their entire body as well. [SUP]4 [/SUP]Look at the ships also, though they are so great and are driven by strong winds, are still directed by a very small rudder wherever the inclination of the pilot desires. [SUP]5 [/SUP]So also the tongue is a small part of the body, and yet it boasts of great things.
See how great a forest is set aflame by such a small fire! [SUP]6 [/SUP]And the tongue is a fire, the very world of iniquity; the tongue is set among our members as that which defiles the entire body, and sets on fire the course of our life, and is set on fire by hell. [SUP]7 [/SUP]For every species of beasts and birds, of reptiles and creatures of the sea, is tamed and has been tamed by the human race.

Yes it his righteousness and not our and because it his gift to us at conversion [Romans 5:17] we can no longer state, I am not righteous. We are made rightoeus only through him and when someone says I am still not righteous after conversion it may mean. They do not fully understand the position they have in Christ.

I agree. There is a tendency to give a person we agree with a bye, and others that we don't agree with we hold them to a different standard.

We are still sinners, despite being saved. That is because we are still human. That is why God picks us up when we stumble. :) We may show His righteousness through us, but we are not righteous in the sense of being perfect. If we were perfect, we'd be immortal, which is impossible in a fallen, mortal world.

ralph made multiple passive aggressive remarks towards dcon to try and get a rise out of him like

"im not going to beat your face in because"

then the moment dcon laughed at a christmas story reference i made towards ""ralphs"" inability to examine the scriptures in context

he played victim and tried to point the finger and hold it against him...

he twists words to try and say people believe things they do not believe

creates straw men

flip-flops

and is a liar and a hypocrit....

maybe i gave him ammo by making one joke that had zero profane speech

but he is constantly spewing drivel and a false gospel and baiting people to get upset with him

i may have had one moment where i bought in to jesting back

against someone who is trying to demonize the true gospel and attack actual believers into buying into false doctrine

False dichotomy:(

And you seem to have forgotten that 'living in' your old life means you were never saved to begin with. Let's review...

Calvinism-you have to persevere to the end or else you were never really saved.

Hypergrace-you don't have to persevere to the very end to be saved.

So which one you going with, people? You can't have it both ways. Either admit you are on board with hypergrace doctrine and be banned from this site for pushing that doctrine, or admit works being required for salvation doesn't have to be a works gospel of self-righteousness. Which one's it going to be, people?

to me you seem biased but maybe you havent been here long enough to see

Ralph is next on the list. You and other seem to be stuck in the mindset The OP is justified because of everything Ralph said to him, which is wrong and was wrong, especially about bashing people faces in and other very foul things.

One cannot be justified for slinging their own mud and be pronounced good and clean by others and themselves, because they slung rightoeus mud in defense of something that was said that was just as bad as letting the BS word slip out of his fingers.. The OP personally says he is Pastor David E. Dixon on Blogs right here on this site. He says he is a teacher, says he is seminary trained. If anyone of this true, and I have no reason to doubt it, then be the spiritual adult in the room , especially since he is the OP and rise above the mud and not sink in the mud and throw it back.

At best it was poor judgement.

Ralph on the other hand is getting way out of hand, both theologically and with the threats.

well im not.. we should call a spade a spade and not make light of someone spreading a false gospel but i AM guilty of making light of it on one occasion

i missed the "bs" remark and id say what i did was error.... a fleshly response... worse than poor judgement
Ralph on the other hand is getting way out of hand, both theologically and with the threats.

not being offended is important

but i think the point is also to not be offensive...

if someone is offended by the truth thats their fault

but if we are in the spirit
that does come with patience and there is something to be said about not giving the enemy ammo
