Message of the Cross has a thread called "a holy sacrifice pleasing to the Lord".

Joi has posted a post that IMO is the answer to this thread. :)

Thanks Magenta. I would not know how to do that. :)
You are welcome, Stones! :) I simply copied the title you gave and entered it into the Advanced Search bar near the top right hand side of this page. A list of threads came up, with the desired one being about third on the list, so I clicked on that, and then copied the url and pasted it here :D

Do you reject 'original sin' too? I guess like Biig said, you have to. But read Genesis 3, and if that's not clear enough, read Romans 5 & 1 Corinthians 15.
I do reject it.
Why should I need to "pay" for the sins of others?
I could find no evidence in your sitings that inferred Adam's sin being cast onto us.

Perhaps you will elaborate....(in another thread)?

Daily reckon it dead Philip.
AMEN!

For our humanity is weak and frail.
This is where we go down different roads.
My "humanity" was crucified with Christ when I was baptized into His death.
I am a new creature now, reborn of God's seed.
I am neither weak nor frail...in the fight against darkness.
And I thank God for His grace that some here only talk about instead of experience.

We need Holy Spirit and His power, moment by moment. We are told that we can be like someone who looks into a mirror, then goes away forgetting the image we are.
Let's look at it from a different angel, shall we?
We can also be someone who departing from the mirror DOES remember the image God has endowed us with.

why? Because we have an enemy that's expressed through the spirit of this world, our flesh, and the devil. Spiritual warfare isn't understood by most.
Thank God that we are "not of this world".
The enemy, sin, has been conquered.
Long live the King!

And your religion denies these things to be so.
I wasn't kicked out. I left. My second time I left. Wasn't allowed a return. You do have a comprehension problem.

And my user name will remain wherever. I don't hide. :)
Your post said you were banned, so what else was I to think?

Gen 3:17

And unto Adam H121 he said, H559 Because thou hast hearkened H8085 unto the voice H6963 of thy wife, H802 and hast eaten H398 of the tree, H6086 of which H834 I commanded thee, H6680 saying, H559 Thou shalt not eat H398 of it: cursed H779 is the ground H127 for thy sake; in sorrow H6093 shalt thou eat H398 of it all H3605 the days H3117of thy life; H2416

[h=1]Lexicon :: Strong's H127 - 'adamah[/h]

[h=6]אֲדָמָה[/h]

ground, land

 1. ground (as general, tilled, yielding sustenance)
 2. piece of ground, a specific plot of land

Man was formed of the ground. Man is cursed because of original sin. We need a redemption to save us from being cursed and that did not come until Christ laid down His life upon the cross and shed His blood for the remission of our sins, the sins of man that was formed from the clay of the ground which was cursed by God. So our flesh is cursed because it was formed of the clay but our spirit is redeemed and bought by the shedding of the blood of Christ. This is why illness effects the body and not the spirit because the spirit is of God but the body is of the ground.
[h=1]Genesis 2:7New International Version (NIV)[/h]7 Then the Lord God formed a man[a] from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.
The breath of life that gives us spirit comes from God and not the ground.

Jesus is His Son, no less God. The Imrah of the Jews who was The Word of the Lord who manifested to them. Always has been. And God in a human body. Not fallen flesh. That was through Adam. Jesus did not come through Adam.

So He didn't have to overcome sin. Temptation isn't sin.
Actually it is the Word in a human body, a flesh body. (John 1:14)
You overcome sin by overcoming temptation.
Thanks be to God for arming us against temptation.

You are correct temptation is not sin but giving into the temptation is sin and they (Adam and Eve) gave into the temptation of becoming like God knowing good and evil.

I was temporarily a member of bible-discussion, but left that forum several months ago because it had become hijacked by false teachers, such as sinless perfectionists, anti-Trinitarians, works salvationists etc.. and was nothing but a war zone and the mods did nothing about it! :(

I became so fed up with that toxic environment that I left. I'm not surprised or disappointed to see that website is shut down. So PJW is Philip from bible-discussion? I remember a Philip (or was it Philip2) from bible-discussion who was obsessed with the false doctrine of sinless perfection.

Déjà vu
"Obsessed" with obedience to God.
I love your testimonial.
Don't you wish that all men were obsessed with loving God above all else and their neighbors as themselves?

Hi PJW,

You obviously do not understand 'original sin'.

Its a shame you don’t show that love to others on here.
Genuine believers who acknowledge they sin and humble themselves before God.
Such people you condemn and accuse them of not being saved because they are not sinless like you and your crowd.
I can't "condemn" anybody.
If they are shown that committing sin is not of God, they will have a chance to turn from them.
To allow them to feel comfortable in their ignorance would not be loving.

Ps you seem to insinuate that sins are only washed clean when we get baptised.
Our sins are washed clean in the blood of Jesus.
Baptism is an outward sign of having placed our faith in Jesus and does not save us.
Insinuate?
It is written..."Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost." (Acts 2:38)
It is written in 1 John 5:8..."
And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one."

They are all one.

Peter seemed to think more of baptism: in 1 Peter 3:21, he wrote..."
The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:"
This was the verse that provoked me to become a Christian.
I wanted more than anything to have a good conscience towards God.
My "immersion" into Christ's death allowed me to also partake in His resurrection, (Rom 6:3-6), being reborn of Godly seed.

It is impossible to "give up" salvation. Once you're saved, that's it. Salvation can never be lost, revoked, taken away or given up.. :)
Salvation won't be assured till after the final judgement.

I have to wonder if he ever read:

1 John 4:20 (NKJV)
[SUP]20 [/SUP] If someone says, "I love God," and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen?

1 John 3:14 (NCV)
[SUP]14 [/SUP] We know we have left death and have come into life because we love each other.
Whoever does not love is still dead. {Not born again.}
DON'T RUN WITH SCISSORS IN YOUR HAND!
Was that loving or hateful?
DON'T COMMIT SIN!
Was that loving or hateful?

Our English word flesh is sarx in greek. It can mean the body of flesh, or as in the physical. Or the human nature.
Adam was formed from dust and created a living soul. Jesus had a human body but spirit and soul was the inherited nature of Father. Eternal and not from Adam.
Otherwise He would not be the perfect sacrifice for our fallen nature. So in our Spirit we are made perfect in Him. Holy Spirit dwells in our Spirit, but is refining our soul, and healing our body.

I like what Fredoheaven posted in one of his posts. My words though...we are either carnal Christians, or spiritual Christians.
We learn how to walk by Spirit and some are more proficient at this than others. I wish I was a bit more on that side.
Thanks for posting the scriptures fred...it hit home for me.
"Carnal Christian" is an oxymoron.
Kinda like "Agnostic Christian".
Those in Christ have crucified the flesh-mind. It isn't a factor in Christian life.

You are right.
We don’t pay for the sins of others.
We pay for our sins.

Regardless one thing is sure that we suffer the consequences of Adams sin which is death.
Both spiritual and physical.

But thanks to Jesus he paid the debt of our sins so that spiritually we come alive and the relationship with God is restored.

And when we physically die we will be raised with physical bodies.
