If a person takes pride in their military background then leave them be, whatever they did in that uniform was for their country. Because the Children of GOD are not to wage war but love their enemies... knowing Vengeance is not theirs.

We are to Love GOD with all our being and each other.. we wrestle not against flesh and blood.. we have our part in the Spiritual war through Faith in Christ as children of the Father of lights.

I do not know what makes people think they have a GOD given right to kill an enemy when we are taught to love them.. I know what example I will follow.
t<><

JUST SO YOU KNOW, the phrase LOVE YOUR ENEMIES, Does NOT MEAN you refuse to shoot to kill an enemy COMBATANT. It means you treat him humanely if and when he surrenders and you take him prisoner.

Numbers 31:1-7 (HCSB)
[SUP]1 [/SUP] The LORD spoke to Moses,
[SUP]2 [/SUP] “Execute vengeance for the Israelites against the Midianites. After that, you will be gathered to your people.”
[SUP]3 [/SUP] So Moses spoke to the people, “Equip some of your men for war. They will go against Midian to inflict the LORD’s vengeance on them.
[SUP]4 [/SUP] Send 1,000 men to war from each Israelite tribe.”
[SUP]5 [/SUP] So 1,000 were recruited from each Israelite tribe out of the thousands in Israel—12,000 equipped for war.
[SUP]6 [/SUP] Moses sent 1,000 from each tribe to war. They went with Phinehas son of Eleazar the priest, in whose care were the holy objects and signal trumpets.
[SUP]7 [/SUP] They waged war against Midian, as the LORD had commanded Moses, and killed every male.

NOTICE THE LORD GOD HIMSELF STARTED THE SELECTIVE SERVICE DRAFT FOR MILITARY SERVICE TO THE COUNTRY.

2 Samuel 6:1-2 (CSBBible)
[SUP]1 [/SUP] David again assembled all the fit young men in Israel: thirty thousand.
[SUP]2 [/SUP] He and all his troops set out to bring the ark of God from Baale-judah. The ark bears the Name, the name of the LORD of Armies who is enthroned between the cherubim.

Isaiah 2:12 (CSBBible)
[SUP]12[/SUP] For a day belonging to the LORD of Armies is coming against all that is proud and lofty,
against all that is lifted up—it will be humbled—

Isaiah 5:16 (CSBBible)
[SUP]16[/SUP] But the LORD of Armies is exalted by his justice, and the holy God shows that he is holy through his righteousness.

Isaiah 9:19 (CSBBible)
[SUP]19 [/SUP]The land is scorched by the wrath of the LORD of Armies,
and the people are like fuel for the fire. No one has compassion
on his brother.

ALL MILITARY PERSONNEL AND POLICE SERVE AS AN ARM OF GOVERNMENT, AND AS SUCH ARE AUTHORIZED BY GOD TO CARRY ARMS AND USE THOSE ARMS WITH DEADLY FORCE WHEN THE SITUATION CALLS FOR IT.

Romans 13:1-7 (CSBBible)
[SUP]1[/SUP] Let everyone submit to the governing authorities, since there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are instituted by God.
[SUP]2 [/SUP] So then, the one who resists the authority is opposing God's command, and those who oppose it will bring judgment on themselves.
[SUP]3 [/SUP] For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but to bad. Do you want to be unafraid of the authority? Do what is good, and you will have its approval.
[SUP]4 [/SUP] For it is God's servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, because it does not carry the sword for no reason. For it is God's servant, an avenger that brings wrath on the one who does wrong.
[SUP]5 [/SUP] Therefore, you must submit, not only because of wrath but also because of your conscience.
[SUP]6 [/SUP] And for this reason you pay taxes, since the authorities are God's servants, continually attending to these tasks.
[SUP]7 [/SUP] Pay your obligations to everyone: taxes to those you owe taxes, tolls to those you owe tolls, respect to those you owe respect, and honor to those you owe honor.

Luke 22:36 (CSBBible)
[SUP]36 [/SUP]Then he said to them, "But now, whoever has a money-bag should take it, and also a traveling bag. And whoever doesn't have a sword should sell his robe and buy one.

Self Defense Weapons were authorized and commanded by CHRIST.

SWORD for Self Defense in the time of JESUS:

Yes that really was the most common Self Defense weapon at the TIME OF CHRIST.
It certainly was NOT a kitchen chef's knife, while in this Modern day, Self Defense Weapons
are usually a firearm, most commonly a pistol.

YES, I support the 2nd Amendment and the NRA. AND YES, I truly believe because of
that verse above, the LORD expects the man of the house to be prepared for Self Defense.
Are home invasion armed robberies that common place. YES, and they are getting more
common every day. Last Sunday as I was going to Church, 5 blocks from my house, I saw
a yard with the entire property was taped off with that yellow crime scene tape. I looked
and the Garage door was RIPPED OUT. Apparently to gain quick entrance, they backed up
to the garage door, hooked a tow chain to the top of the garage door, while probably two
others waited nearby to DASH in before the residents could respond. The driver yanked the
door almost off, and in they went. How long would it take you to respond to such a Home
Invasion at night. My Self Defense weapon is within arm's reach of my head, while I sleep.

If anyone is thinking about buying a Self Defense weapon, I consider it a MUST to sign up
for a NRA SAFETY COURSE at a local gun range. For those with small children, they make
a safety handgun safe now, that will open only with your finger prints, after programing it.

ALL SCRIPTURE IS INSPIRED BY GOD!

Deuteronomy 33:7 (GWT)
[SUP]7 [/SUP] This is what he said about the tribe of Judah: “Hear the cry of Judah, O LORD,
and bring them to their people. They must defend themselves.
Help them against their enemies.”

Zechariah 14:2-3 (GWT)
[SUP]2 [/SUP] I will gather all the nations to Jerusalem for battle. The city will be captured, the houses looted, and the women raped. Half of the people in the city will go into exile, but the rest of the people won't be taken from the city.
[SUP]3 [/SUP] Then the LORD will go out and fight against those nations as he does when he fights a battle.

Ecclesiastes 4:12 (NLT)
[SUP]12 [/SUP] A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken.

Judges 14:19 (CSBBible)
[SUP]19 [/SUP]The Spirit of the LORD came powerfully on him, and he went down to Ashkelon and killed thirty of their men. He stripped them and gave their clothes to those who had explained the riddle. In a rage, Samson returned to his father's house,

Judges 15:14-15 (HCSB)
[SUP]14 [/SUP] When he came to Lehi, the Philistines came to meet him shouting. The Spirit of the LORD took control of him, and the ropes that were on his arms became like burnt flax and his bonds fell off his wrists.
[SUP]15 [/SUP] He found a fresh jawbone of a donkey, reached out his hand, took it, and killed 1,000 men with it.

Matthew 22:17-21 (ESV)
[SUP]17 [/SUP] Tell us, then, what you think. Is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar, or not?”
[SUP]18 [/SUP] But Jesus, aware of their malice, said, “Why put me to the test, you hypocrites?
[SUP]19 [/SUP] Show me the coin for the tax.” And they brought him a denarius.
[SUP]20 [/SUP] And Jesus said to them, “Whose likeness and inscription is this?”
[SUP]21 [/SUP] They said, “Caesar’s.” Then he said to them, “Therefore render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.”

Ego? I seek to obey... So im a babe in truth and walk... Oh my.. All people have free will while in the flesh. I have never met a holy Spirit robot...You know what, this is silly.
I know that Christians believe they have free will. Freed to make a choice is more like it. Otherwise, the enmity of a fallen mind and nature will keep us separated. So the gospel is preached, and all heaven waits for our yes response to it...that breaks the bondage, and we are crucified with Jesus. That is the power of the Cross. Then we daily reckon it so as we learn what we have been given.

It's not silly by any means. Its the truth. Do you remember Paul saying that he came to the end of trying to persuade men by wisdom and realized that the preaching of the Cross was the power? I think we all have this battle. Jesus said if He is lifted up, He draws men.

Then, what is missing in most sermons. Resurrection life. Some believe it is impossible. Well, it is by self. But Holy Spirit brings us to the understanding that it is given too. But, we need the giftings to walk this way. The baptism of Holy Spirit.

Jesus moved in the fullness of the Godhead...we altogether will walk in unity when the fullness comes to His body. This is the revelation of Jesus... The glory filling the house whose house are we.

If any man will hear, it is his.

~Eph 4:13
until all of us are united in the faith and in the full knowledge of God's Son, and until we attain mature adulthood and the full standard of development in the Messiah.

~
Rom 8:18 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed to us.

Rom 8:19 For the creation is eagerly awaiting the revelation of God's children,

Rom 8:20 because the creation has become subject to futility, though not by anything it did. The one who subjected it did so in the certainty

Rom 8:21 that the creation itself would also be set free from corrupting bondage in order to share the glorious freedom of God's children.

Rom 8:22 For we know that all the rest of creation has been groaning with the pains of childbirth up to the present time.

The question here then is...when do we die?
I quote Paul from 1 Tim 5:24..."Some men's sins are open beforehand, going before to judgment; (death; Rom 6:23), and some men they follow after."
My "fallen man" was crucified and buried with Christ. (Rom 6:3-6)
It was also raised with Christ to walk in newness of life: reborn of Godly seed.
I am not a "fallen man" anymore: I am a son of God and brother of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Would not that kind of life preclude sin?

AMEN!
Apparently not. Nobody is the perfect. My understanding is that the whole body of Christ receives the glory and the fullness.

There is a scripture that speaks of the Lord coming suddenly to His temple. This is what I believe will happen. I would have to look for it.

Sin can be thoughts. Capturing them and learning to deal with them takes much time. Plus, our flesh will lie to us, the devil lies to us...takes time to realize who and what we are. We are babes, young men, and then fathers according to 1John. And babes stumble about.

Not giving a license to sin. Just being realistic. Who of us have been taught correctly?

Jesus didn't come to judge us for our ways...but to save us from them. I believe He is more merciful than we are to one another.

If I say a hard word, I don't mean it as a judgement. There is no condemnation if we belong to Him.

Am really trying to provoke one to seek what scripture says we can have.

I think you understand. Not sure why you would think one cannot sin though. We have an adversary and people fall prey to his lies all the time.

~Son 5:16 His mouth is most sweet; he is altogether lovely. This is my beloved, and this is my friend, O virgins of Jerusalem.

Oh, and I believe that we are crucified at conversion. Positionally, but experientially will take time as we place our faith in His word.

Hmmm...
That is kind of confusing.
Don't you think Jesus' teachings are part of the "law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus"? (Rom 8:2)
Pick a teaching. I can't answer unless you choose one.

loveme1;3320619 The guilt trip is not going to work.. my own flesh and blood gave their life in battles of past.. but that does not mean I have to agree or commend.. true hardship indeed. My Lord and Saviour who laid His life.. Him will I love said:
~Scripture Must Be Fulfilled in Jesus
Luk 22:35 And he said unto them, When I sent you without purse and provision bag and shoes, lacked ye anything? And they said, Nothing.

Luk 22:36 Then he said unto them, But now, he that has a purse, let him take it and likewise his provision bag; and he that has no sword, let him sell his garment and buy one.

Luk 22:37 For I say unto you that this that is written must yet be accomplished in me, And he was reckoned among the transgressors; for the things written concerning me have a fulfillment.

Luk 22:38 Then they said, Lord, behold, here are two swords. And he said unto them, It is enough.

I've always wondered about these scriptures. Why did He tell them this?

You are the accuser, so prove the "lie".
Better yet...let's forget the whole thing and start over.

Hi, Dc.
How are you doing?

Good thread, so far, with many on both sides, (yes or no on life without sin), offering scripture and conclusions.
The primary thing I keep in mind is that salvation won't be assured till after the final judgement, so I/we must all remain true to God till the end.
You've already forgotten?

~Heb 10:14 For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.

Is it evil, justified by works or rejecting the Messiah if one believes these verses to be true?

1 John 3:7, "Little children, let no man deceive you; he who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous."

Romans 6:16, "”Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves servants for obedience, you are servants of the one whom you obey, whether of sin to death, or of obedience to righteousness?”
Yahshua/Jesus Himself said this.. and He is talking about His return, no abolishing this;

John/Yahanan 5:28-30, “Do not be astonished at this-for the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear His voice, and will come forth. Those who have practiced righteousness will be resurrected in order to live; and those who have practiced wickedness will be resurrected in order to be damned."

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

John 12:47-50 “As for the person who hears my words but does not keep them, I do not judge him. For I did not come to judge the world, but to save it. There is a judge for the one who rejects me and does not accept my words; that very word which I spoke will condemn him at the last day. For I did not speak of my own accord, but the Father who sent me commanded me what to say and how to say it. I know that his command leads to eternal life. So whatever I say is just what the Father has told me to say.”

John 3:34 For the one whom God has sent SPEAKS THE WORDS OF GOD, for God gives the Spirit without limit.

John 8:47 He who belongs to God HEARS WHAT GOD SAYS. The reason you do not hear is that you do not belong to God.”

I wonder why some seem to concentrate on the negative scriptures rather than those that are of faith.

I have answered at least three times....not my fault you are too dense to grasp it.......WISE UP......

IF THIS IS NOT ANOTHER LIE THEN MAYBE YOU COULD SHOW ME WHERE YOU SAID EITHER YES OR NO AS AN ANSWER TO MY SIMPLE QUESTION.
.”
HAVE answered like 4 times now...wise up and take the advice on the last paragraph. Like I said...sorry your too dense and entrenched in a false dogma to see the truth.

What part of the following is so hard for you to grasp

The SPIRIT is born of GOD, incorruptible, eternal, sealed in Christ, never sins, always right and seeking to do what is right

The BODY is dead because of SIN, not subject unto the word of GOD, wants to sin, seeks to sin and prone to sin YET UNCHANGED at the moment and WAITNG to be changed or resurrected in POWER

The MIND is the seat of intellect and either surrenders to the will of the SPIRT or the will of the FLESH.....if the SPIRIT we walk pleasing unto the LORD, if the FLESH we sin in the flesh and walk CONTRARY and not as a LIVING sacrifice.

THE latter does not change the state of the FIRST but can VEX the first (LOT)

THE mind WILL surrender more and more to the SPIRIT if it is RENEWED by the study of the WORD which feeds the SPIRIT and cause SPIRITUAL GROWTH, MATURITY and INCREASED faithfulness.

HOW is it that you do not understand this.......this is what the bible teaches

l ya what......you keep thinking that works and law keeping and thinking you are sinless will get you there....

I will keep believing that JESUS by grace through faith has saved me, sealed me, justified me and sanctified me eternally while placing ALL emphasis upon JESUS, HIS works, His power and His promises....

I am not going to argue your working for, law keeping, sinless perfectionist dogma any longer....

Please do me a favor....block me or do not address me any longer....you have proven to twist, embellish, attempted to shift focus, refused solid truth, misrepresented what we all teach, been deceptive in your approach and I am done with you....

IF I JUST MISSED YOUR REPLY INDICATING A YES OR A KNOW THEN ACCEPT MY APOLOGY IN ADVANCE.
IF YOU CAN’T THEN STOP HIDING BEHIND YOUR LIES AND DECEPTION AND WILLINGLY ACCEPT THE TRUTH THAT CAN SET YOU FREE FROM YOUR BONDAGE TO SIN.
AND THESE POSTS BELOW ONLY PROVE YOUR DENIAL AND REJECTION OF THE TRUTH OF THE WORD OF GOD

New International Version 1984 Titus 1:15-16 To the pure, all things are pure, but to those who are corrupted and do not believe, nothing is pure. In fact, both their minds and consciences are corrupted. They claim to know God, but by their actions they deny him. They are detestable, disobedient and unfit for doing anything good.

And you could of just passed it over without carrying it on further. Something about covering with your love comes to mind.

Same as I just did to you. Carrying the issue on by making your remarks.
That's one of the problems in CC... members "passing over" wicked and rebellious behavior, and not calling them out on it.
If everyone did their job like they're supposed to, this thread would have been shut down months ago.

New International Version 1984 Romans 1:28-32 Furthermore, since they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, he gave them over to a depraved mind, to do what ought not to be done. They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; they are senseless, faithless, heartless, ruthless. Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.

Psalm 49:13-14 This is the fate of those who trust in themselves, and of their followers, who approve their sayings. Selah Like sheep they are destined for the grave, and death will feed on them. The upright will rule over them in the morning; their forms will decay in the grave, far from their princely mansions.
