Sin hardens the heart, it doesn't humble it, at some point the heart can become so hardened it can no longer repent...... a very scary condition indeed,
Heb 3:12 Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.
Heb 3:13 But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.
The Bible warns the brethren to not depart from the living God,by being hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.
But it does not matter the warnings in the Bible to some people, which there would not be warnings if it were not possible for that to happen if people do not take heed to do what is right.
Rom 11:20 Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear:
Rom 11:21 For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee.
Rom 11:22 Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.
God speaks concerning the Jews in the Old Testament that was given to the nation of Israel, that if they did not abide in the truth, they would be cut off,and warns the saints that if they do not continue in God's goodness they will be cut off.
2Ti 2:19 Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.
1Co 15:34 Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.
Everyone that names the name of Christ has to depart from iniquity, but some do not have the knowledge of God.
The Old Testament was given to the nation of Israel, and they had to abide by it whether they liked it or not,and if they did not abide by that covenant, then they were cut off from the promises.
The Jews had no choice, but to abide by that covenant.
Act 17:30 And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:
Act 17:31 Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.
Rom 3:31 Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.
Rom 7:12 Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good.
Rom 7:14 For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin.
Gal 5:16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
Gal 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
Gal 5:23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
Gal 5:24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
Gal 5:25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
God commands all people everywhere to repent.
The New Testament is given to the world, and they have to abide by it whether they like it or not,and anybody that does not abide by it will be cut off from the promises.
Whether they claim to be with Christ,or not, that New Covenant means abstaining from sin by the Holy Spirit, for God will judge the world by the man Christ Jesus, who by the Holy Spirit abstained from sin,and that same power is available for the world to receive, and be like the man Christ Jesus.
This sin does not affect our relationship with God does not fly,for that is what the New Testament is about, abstaining from sin by the Spirit, and that is why Jesus came so our sins could be washed away, and we could receive the Spirit, and be like the man Christ Jesus.
That is the New Testament, and all those who confess Jesus has to depart from iniquity, and if not they are of the world.
Confessing Christ does not count if you do not want to be Christlike, and we know how Jesus behaved while on earth,so we have to do the same.
