This is a subject which really does not interest me.
If there are crowns or stones, so be it. I'm good with that, like I had said.
I understand my reward, or gift, to be eternity with God and the ability to spend time with Jesus. Just the thought brings me peace.
I don't think we can speak so solidly about the afterlife. Paul said he saw things that could not be described or spoken about or understood. That's how he explained it. John gave bits and pcs of it,,, how could we know for sure??
I ike to stand and discuss only things that are on solid ground.
I DO want to disagree about one thing you've said:
You say that our mission is to save those that are in darkness.
OK. I agree. I've been witnessing for 40 years and could not agree more.
Our very love for Jesus makes us WANT to witness for His Kingdom.
However, His MAIN THEME in all His preaching, was not about salvation, but about how to enter into the Kingdom of God and how to remain there or suffer the consequences at our time of Death.
Now, I know you're not going to really go through the gosples and do what I asked you, although it would really be a great concept to learn.
IF you would believe me, I'd tell you the answer.
I'm just a little tired of throwing out answers and then being attacked for speaking the truth.
But, yes, our main mission, is to be members of the Kingdom..
and
Get Others to be members.
Salvation is phase one.
The Kingdom is phase two.

no, eternal life is a gift, you can not earn salvation, you could never work enough to pay of the debt for one sin, let alone all your sins you have committed your whole life.

It is harder to lay your down your pride and self -effort.....self is a mighty foe, but some do manage to come to the cross knowing that there is nothing they can do to save themselves and accept His complete work, His propitiation for our sins knowing we can never meet His holy standard.
God does not save those who are trying to save themselves

anyone who thinks they're adding their own merit to the already perfect Work of Christ is sadly mistaken.

It is the work of God you believe in the one he sent, look for th food which endured to eternal life, which I can eat and not die,
Ask yourself this, if jesus came to you,and you u asked him what work you must deal, what work would he tell you to do that he knows you would not do? He did that a lot too, to get people to think.

It would seem that the majority here are incorrect in their doctrine...
The deeds we do are out of being led by Holy Spirit Fran.
No phases, just life in the Spirit of God. As a sprititual being, no longer of human nature, though it is a progressive thing in understanding.
I truly wish I had known these things in my younger years because I listen and watch these young ministers moving in the power of Holy Spirit.
But, I can share these things in the hopes that others catch the fire.
so to reiterate...the thread is about not by works.
To do the works that we are commissioned to do is by Holy Spirit, as He leads us. That is kingdom living. And our character is being formed in the image of God, yet still His work. The promises are now yes and amen, and we can stand on the. The power of life is always in the Holy Ghost...and now I feel like singing it. Lol
Even our godliness is given. Amazing grace!

I'm not an annihilationist, so yes.. We are 3 in one. We don't cease to exist without a casing or body.
This has piqued my curiosity.(The last sentence).
If He IS eternal life, and someone doesn't have Him in them by the new birth, will they live forever somewhere?
why is it so hard to comprehend the believers obey God from love and a new nature; not to earn something??

gods people do good works, if we are not gods, we can do good deeds, but God rejects them as human good.
We work because we are saved, not to maintain salvation,

The point was that for anything thrown into that valley, complete destruction was inevitable. Similarly, there can be no escaping the result of unrepentant sin—death in the “lake of fire” (Rev. 20:14-15). A similar scenario is discussed in Isaiah 66:24, and again the meaning is not that the unrepentant sinner or “worms” live forever. The maggots live only as long as there is “food.” The fire burns only as long as there is fuel. Again, the point is that sin not repented of has dire consequences—complete and permanent death!
