Sunday school - so that's where your brainwashing indoctrination began - all makes sense now..

I find that a little hard to believe - it is possible though PL.

Many think Nero was the Man of Sin and Paul certainly knew him. But, nobody can place Nero in the temple. Only Titus can be placed in the temple. To me that's the biggest clue solved. Notice the Man of Sin doesn't say anything, he stands in the temple and is worshiped and shows himself to be God. This was recorded by Josephus.

As for Paul, he wrote this in 51-52 AD and in 2 Thes 1 Paul discusses the future wrath and vengeance which Luke also heard Christ speak of in Lk 21.

READ THE CONTEXT, I was taught that in Sunday School when I was a kid.

The CONTEXT IS CLEARLY talking about future events surrounding HIS SECOND COMING, therefore THIS GENERATION, is referring to the future Generation that actually SEES THOSE EVENTS HAPPENING, NOT THE PEOPLE HE IS TALKING TO, LIKE YOU FOOLISHLY WANT TO BELIEVE.
VCO is correct. It was future to when Christ said it and it did apply to the generation who starts to see the signs He was giving. Every event listed from the start of the chapter to Mt 24:28 happened to one generation and everyone at the time recognized it.

From Mt 3 when John the Baptist first warned of the wrath to come until Mt 24, the topic of the destruction of Jerusalem was often discussed as we would expect.

Anyways, I'm done for the night - I got to finish watching Sons of Anarchy on Netflix before the rapture gets me..

This will probably do no good to your view point to admit you watch that garbage. I've seen the show as well, just to discredit myself here as well.

So now tenak is historicist?

Oh brother.

That historical doctrine is one special doctrine. No other makes as many grand canyon leaps.

What on earth is driving these people????

The literal Word of God. Everything in the NT that hints at timing is screaming first century. Conversely NOTHING hints at a 2,000 year gap.

Clearly, they all thought they would see these things happen.

Jesus regularly spoke of this generation, And He always meant His own generation,

He's not correct PL - this is from VOC's post:

"is referring to the future Generation that actually SEES THOSE EVENTS HAPPENING, NOT THE PEOPLE HE IS TALKING TO,"

Actually, I've never watched a single episode of Sons of Anarchy...

Somethings just go right over peoples heads..

I know, I was just changing his post up a bit, correcting it for him if you will:D. That faithless and perverse generation is judged. Only they could grieve the Holy Spirit and commit the unpardonable sin.

Fine example of twisting of scripture right there...

Matt 24:15 “Therefore when you see the ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION which was spoken of through Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place (let the reader understand),

Matt 24:34 “Truly I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place.

NO, it is called, Correctly Interpreting the Scriptures.

The wicked Jews who were cut off the tree:

[SUP]3 [/SUP]For when they say, “Peace and safety!” then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape.

The Christians who were grafted in:

[SUP]4 [/SUP]But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief. [SUP]5 [/SUP]You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness.

And tie this in with:

Rom 13:11 Do this, knowing the time, that it is already the hour for you to awaken from sleep; for now salvation is nearer to us than when we believed.

Rom 13:12 The night is almost gone, and the day is near. Therefore let us lay aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light.

"knowing the time, salvation is nearer, the day is near" all point to the very rapidly approaching "rapture" in their life time.

Post-Trib if ever I saw one...

At the Rapture the time of the gentiles will be fulfilled. Then the time of the Jew will resume.

yes. this is when the Church age is completed and God starts dealing with Israel again. its "jacob's trouble" not "church's trouble".
this is a mystery program we are in currently, Paul preached the gospel of the uncircumcision to the gentiles. God showed paul many mysteries. there are 7 of them like many things in the Bible. i could make an article about that its a great study for all da bible students.

Why is it so hard for most to see what is so clear to us? All they have to do is read and take the plain meaning (PLW). It's so simple and straightforward.
