On a discussion forum, I really wonder if rebukes are appropriate anyway.
If you have offended me I would just let you know privately...seems like the mature thing to do.

I do not think we need to leave our personality at the door, Paul was pretty rough around the edges too does not mean he sinned.

Not saying you are rough around the edges, I just think you are straight up and and do not play games...I am cool with that.
He didn't offend me. He has never offended me. I love him.

James chapter 2 verse 26,"for as the body without the spirit is dead,so faith without works is dead also.
ok I believe the bible just told the answer,"clearly" and "accurately",so what will be the next question to answer???

to say continue is faith means faith comes from self. from out own power. and is based on ourself. And not based on the one we are having faith in.

that makes it a work.

A work is anything which comes from self. which is for self (ie, I am taking care of my own needs)

to say we must continue in faith is basically saying as long as the person I have faith in does what I want, I will trust him, but the second he stops. I will take my faith and put it in something that will take care of what I want (selfish desires, not actual needs, because God will always take care of our needs, He will not always give us what we desire, he knows us better than we know ourself. and he knows what is best)

so one must ask, if a person had this kind of faith to begin with, did they ever have faith in God? No. They just for an amount of time thought God would give them what they desire, so they decided to try this faith thing out. Once they realized God will not give them all they want, the reason for their faith ceased, and they fall away..

True repentance leads to true saving faith that is not self seeking, and thus will never fade away, Because it never seeks for self. it relys on God to know what is best for us, and may weaken, or vary, but will never fade away, because God NEVER does us wrong..

Only if we are selfish and seeking selfish desires will we ever stop trusting God because God never promised to give us everything we want,
I do not for one second buy this continue garbage to remain saved...Jesus starts and finishes my faith and he promises to COMPLETE that good work he began in us....to place it upon my shoulders to CONTINUE OR COMPLETE MY FAITH takes it out of the hand of Christ, makes the two referenced verses void and states clearly that Jesus is a complete failure and a liar.......AND THE BIBLE IS CLEAR...IT IS IMPOSSIBLE FOR GOD TO LIE AND HE WILL FINISH WHAT HE STARTED!

yeh, it's let tear each other down, call each other fools and condemn each other to hell.
Your theology is wrong and mine is right.
Very loving indeed
i can only see one theology is wrong and that is not hoping for salvation is wrong coz we should hope for salvation.

If you are dead in sin, you are dead because the court of God has declared you guilty. and passed judgment on you.

If you are saved, You have been justified, a legal term which means declared innocent, or righteous.

If your not justified, Your not saved, your dead in sin

if your justified, you have been declared righteous, this have been saved from the debt and penalty of sin.

You can not have one apart from the other.

as an example,

A man charged with murder is in danger of having to pay for that murder, a man justified of that crime, has been saved from having to pay for that crime, He has been declared righteous, or innocent of that crime.
Amen, saved, justified, sanctified in Christ positionally and sealed with the Holy Spirit of Promise!!

many don't seem to understand what justification means...the only way a sinner can be justified is by coming clean with God in the baptism of repentance...The cross, and Jesus atoning blood, allowed for the mercy of God to be dispensed upon repented sinners, for HE is the propitiation (mercy seat) of God in the process of reconciliation..........The concept of coming to the cross is also confused by the HG's....It is a place that sinners come to crucify the flesh in repentance, laying down their weapons of sin and rebellious war against God, and then buried with Him in the baptism of repentance, then raised anew as a vessel fit for the Masters use.....Repentance is a serious work not to be mocked, no doubt the most important work one will ever do in their life...........be blessed

Do you believe salvation can be lost?

then your depending on self. and not God to save you. If you depended on God. you would never think he could fail you and by it salvation/justification thus being lost.

I explained earlier why we lose faith in people. Show me where I got it wrong.
He does believe it can be forfeit by walking away....even though that negates Jesus beginning, finishing and completing the goos work of faith that he started....!!

Yes i I agree with you and others who say this as well of which I am one.

But I would say that all of us need to be very very careful as to judging what good works are according what Jesus said good works are, but further more judging what level of works are required as a result of our faith in Jesus.

To me a simple example would be, let's say someone places their faith in Jesus but has anger issues.
Will their anger issues suddenly stop? I would say not (please note everyone I'm not limiting God here cause it may happen)
I would say that a person with faith in Jesus then the Holy Spirit will reveal it to them, then that person will ask for help but will want help.

That being the case anger will start to decrease and that will be replaced with an increase of?

Hmm I'm trying to think with what an increase of what.

I think I would have to say, love and self control.
I murdered daily - DAILY - after I had received the Spirit. AFTER. I usually murdered my mother five times before breakfast was even over. I'm not a serial murderer anymore. That's what He has done for me.

He did it in a roundabout way to my view at the time, but humility had to come first. The crash and burn had to come first. I don't think I could have heard Him until then, because I thought I was quite humble already.

And the oddest think is...any growth in virtue reveals what is still lacking even after the growth...like, He sometimes lets you look back and see some growth, but it only reveals more lack, so you are ever saying: when I will learn humility? When will I grow in this and stop stumbling? When will I ever be able to see my own lack of humility as much as I see it in others? I guess that's just a hunger for righteousness...
