It is true.

We have wondered if there is some type of payroll for the trolls.

The conversation is like a roundabout, I do find it amazing (not sure if that is the right word) how the simple gospel becomes completely unrecognizable that it stirs something in me to continue to defend the gospel, but perhaps that only keeps the trolls on the payroll.
Methinks the trolls are addicted to sowing discord, perhaps still enslaved to sin. :(

John Chapter 6

28 Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God?
29 Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.

Ephesians Chapter 2

8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: [it is] the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Matthew 5:16 - Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

John 14:26 - But the Comforter, [which is] the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

Romans 8:26 - Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

Galatians Chapter 5

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

Ecclesiastes 7:20

“For there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not.”

Romans 3:21-27

21 But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;

22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:

23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:

25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;

26 To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.

27 Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith.
J

I did, John 3, and John 6

John 3 Whoever believes in me has eternal life (ffaith no works)

John 6, Whoever believes in me (no works mentioned or required)will never hunger or thirst, Never die, Live forever, HAS eternal life and will be raised on the last day.

Oh and for good measure Jesus made it clear when the people asked God what work they could do to do the works of God.

"it is the work of God we believe (have faith) in the one he sent"
That IS the work He asks of us, that we believe! Currently, I'm wondering if we really do believe that if we ask for what we lack, we will receive it, because it's obvious we are poor in spirit and need more love and more control over our tongues (as dcon was recently convicted of and encouraged us all in it. :)) We need help with putting our flesh under our control instead of the other way around. We KNOW we each are part of the problem, so what would happen if we all asked for what we lack together? Would He answer and give as He's said He will? Should we put it to the test?? Would He say, the outcry has become great and I am going down to see and answer??

The dynamic behind the way we are actually transformed is by beholding the glory/goodness of the Lord as in a mirror and the Holy Spirit transforms us as we behold Christ and us in Him as one in union with Him forever. 2 Cor. 3:17-18

We participate in this with Him as Phil. 2:13 shows that it is God who is at work in us - both to give us the desire and also the capability to do of His good pleasure. We can rest in Him knowing this truth.

When we talk about transformation or the way that Christ is manifested in our life or the way we bear fruit or good works - it is really a reference to the outward manifestation of what is already true inwardly - in the new creation in Christ - the new man of the heart - cleansed, righteous and holy and in union with Christ as one spirit forever. 1 Cor. 6:17

Christ being manifested through us is the fruit of a tree that already exists within us. Selah

I firmly believe that if we feed Christians the nutrients of the love and grace of God in Christ's finished work for us - we will walk in the good works that God has already prepared for us to walk in. Eph. 2:10

Good works do not produce life or salvation nor do they keep us saved. That is an anti-Christ belief system that nullifies the very grace of God needed for us to operate in this life by the spirit and not walk after the flesh.

Christ alone is our Savior. Through His blood we have redemption - the forgiveness of sins. Good works are simply the fruit of Him being manifested as we rely on Him alone.

It will be the Lord Himself working in and through us to show the love and grace our Father and loving Lord has for others in the world as well as our brethren that are now in Christ with us.

Let's feed Christians the love and grace of our loving Father and they will grow and in this growing - the fruit of His life will manifest and the good works that are manifested will be birthed from Him.

These will be the gold, silver and precious gems that are created or from "fruit that remains" as Jesus put it in John 15:16. This is the chapter talking about bearing fruit from abiding in Him.

No. You got Ralph mixed up with Mailmandan.

So, you know Ralph?
Really?
Actually, mailmandan and Ralph are two separate individuals. My apologizes for borrowing his amusing signature to describe Ralph, who may or may not actually exist. I do believe that Ralph is trending towards being gluten-free. This can't be a good thing. Perhaps I'm misunderstanding the situation. :)

No, what they are teaching Christians is to rely on Christ's work alone for salvation. His life will bear good fruit as we feed Christians the proper nutrients of His grace and love for them.

Workers of lawlessness are those that are depending on their good works for salvation - that's why Jesus called them "workers of iniquity" in Matt. 7:23

People that advocate that they lose salvation are telling people that their loving Father will throw His beloved children that have been redeemed by the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ into hell if they don't do enough works. That's an anti-Christ belief system that denies the whole nature of our Father and Lord and violates the whole "why" of the gospel in the first place.

The false doctrine that our Father throws His beloved children into hell is what the outcome is of this "we must do enough good works in order to keep one saved." There is no other outcome.

Why not preach Christ and Him crucified and us crucified with Him so that people can grow up in Him? Then they will have His life manifesting out to others so that they can see the love and grace our loving Father and Lord have for them.
Above is a gospel of glue. Once stuck always stuck.

Please show me where God stops those who wish to rebel against Him?

Did God say to Satan, you know me so well, you know what I will do so I forgive you?
Did God say to those who knew Him and stood in defiance against Him, its ok, I forgive you,
or rather where they not judged and executed on the spot?

Dealing with God is a very dangerous thing if you desire to change His words.
He is not going to stop you, because you do not know Him in the first place.

But to those who know Him, they will be called to account.

You are not saying what they accuse you of saying, right? You said way earlier that works are needed to maintain salvation IN THE SENSE THAT if we are abiding, we WILL have good works. And yet they keep saying that you say salvation comes by works.

Could it be POSSIBLE that the same thing is happening in reverse and they are also not saying what you accuse them of?

Our sister ariel is somehow quite good at reading someones MEANING behind the words they choose. I would say...she's the ear. (Sorry ariel, gross earwax, but you are the ear.) And she really does somehow get to the intent even though she personally may have used different words, but she doesn't let a word or a certain turn of phrasing stop her ears from hearing what each of us MEANS to say. She doesn't stubbornly insist anyone must phrase it differently because she understands what they MEAN quite often and not what they SAY. She's pretty good at it so it's apparent that it's a gift for us to use.

And ariel has been saying that both sides are stubbornly not hearing what each other is saying because of insistence on certain words rather than intent. I think we have to let each other give what we have been given to give for our building up. But we won't get anywhere if we think any knowledge we have negates walking in love and having control over our tongue. So the first step is to ask for what we lack - each of us.

I could run through many of you and say what gift you have for us to use and grow by but I'll just say this: G777 is definitely the butt! HAHA! He knows I'm kidding. And dcon is the armpit. (Kidding again.)

What good are gifts given for all of us if we can't get to using them for the good of us all because we refuse to see our own poverty and ask for what we lack? More love is needed. We are all poverty stricken in spirit. Why not ask for what we lack?? We aren't humble enough. Why not ask for what we lack??
SG

Let me make it very clear:

WORKS DO NOT SAVE US.
OUR FAITH IN JESUS SAVES US.

Don't worry about what Others say about me.
Just read what I write.
I think YOU understand God much better than many here.

People here say some pretty odd things -- it's difficult to just let it go by.
Plus, my back's been aching and I'm having a lot of fun here causing DISCORD. (as preacher4truth said)

Am I the troll?

P.s. Re Ariel

I agee with you. She's nice and smart.

We are sons and daughters of our loving Father and we are participating in the "family business" of showing the love and grace our father and Lord have for others.

We "get to do good works" because His life is in us now - but they are not for salvation nor for maintaining being saved. That's an anti-Christ belief system that is simply a works-based self-righteousness belief system that denies the very work of Christ.

An example of "good works" are when we encourage people to actually believe what Jesus has said and what He has already done. It is a good work to encourage Christians to believe that He alone has obtained eternal redemption for us. Heb. 9:12

Right believing in Christ's finished work on the cross and resurrection and that we too have died with Him and rose to newness of life - will bring right thinking ( repentance ) which will manifest in His life being seen in our lives outwardly as His fruit is borne on us the branches.

This is what produces real godliness based on Christ alone by grace through faith.

Without Him - we can do nothing.

It is a "good work" to encourage people to trust that He who has begun a good work in you will perfect it. (Phil. 1:6)

It is a "good work" to encourage Christians to believe that we are new creations in Christ ( 2 Cor. 5:17 )

It is a "good work" to encourage Christians that Christ alone is our wisdom, our righteousness and our sanctification and our redemption. ( 1 Cor. 1:30 )

It is a "good work" to encourage Christians to believe that we are saved by grace through faith alone in Christ's work on the cross and resurrection and no amount of good works can save us nor "keep us saved". Christ alone is the Savior of the world - especially of believers. ( Eph. 2:8-19 & 1 Tim. 4:10 )

It is a "good work" to encourage Christians that we will walk in the good works that God has already prepare for us to walk in as His life becomes manifested in and through us to reveal the love and grace of our loving Father and our Lord has for others. ( Eph. 2:10 & Phil. 2:13 )

It is a "good work" for us to encourage Christians that we are safe in the hands of the Lord and we who truly believe have been sealed by the Holy Spirit and He will be in us forever - just like Jesus said. ( Eph. 1:13, 4:20 & John 14:16 )

It is also a "good work" to remind Christians that there is a warning for not relying on the life of Christ in us for life and living while on this earth.

All the works of the flesh will bring destruction in this life of some sort - whether living the homosexual lifestyle or the exhibiting of malice, outbursts of anger, deceitfulness or the slandering of others in the body of Christ.

Fail to rely on the grace of God that is only in Christ's finished work and trying to do things in our own flesh will not get us in this life to experience the life of Christ that is in our inner man of the heart where Christ dwells and where we are in the kingdom of God.

The warning scriptures are needed and to be heeded - once the proper foundation of Christ and His finished work are firmly established in the hearts and minds of us Christians. From there - then the warning scriptures will have their proper place.

But the firm foundation is Christ Himself and you can no more lose the redemption that is in Christ then Daffy Duck and Donald Duck are the 2 witnesses in the book of Revelation.

We are beloved children of our loving Father and He will not throw His beloved children into hell and the lake of fire because they don't do enough "good works".

Where there is "security" - there are the nutrients for "maturity". Let's believe what Christ has said and what He has already done for us and grow in the grace and knowledge of Him.
