Under the failing OC, there soon will be no insurance available to them, at all. And they will lose everything they have thus far paid in.

Don't you guys realize that in a few months OC will disappear completely.... even if no one ever votes on anything.

CBO: 16 million Americans could lose health insurance under Obamacare 'skinny repeal' - Business Insider

The Congressional Budget Office found that 16 million Americans could lose health insurance under the "skinny repeal" proposal.
One thing you need to take into consideration is that the CBO lumps together those who don't want the OC insurance and those who do . It's very misleading. Yes 16 million may not have insurance under a new plan, but many don't want it .

I have to disagree Willie. Yes the OC plans may disappear in short time, but the tax on those that don't have it won't .
OC may force many out of having insurance but it won't stop the government from taxing you for not having it .
Its a nightmare and it's only going to get worse.

Someone should be going after the pharmaceutical companies who are basically raping the country with the cost of their drugs. Any drug which still has an active patent is ridiculously expensive and patents don't expire for 7 years after a drug is approved for market by the FDA. The exact same drug costs significantly less in Canada even if its still under patent.

Yet no one is going after big pharma. They claim that they need to charge a lot to recoup their R&D costs but then why are they only doing it to americans? Its because american politicians are easily swayed by their boozing and schmoozing. Just like the oil companies and insurance companies have been doing for decades. Give the politicians some free lavish vacations and donate a bunch to their campaigns and they won't bring any legislation against them.

I'll be surprised if anything other than more money for Obamacare occurs. They may repackage it in another level of bureaucracy and rename it, but it will still essentially be Obamacare.

Just a question for everyone.
Do any of you know of a person who has been denied medical care because of no ins.?
I do not.
All anyone has to do is go to a hospital ER.
May not be the first choice, but if you must, go.

Congress will vote this week on a repeal of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act
.Senate to vote on 'Obamacare' repeal next week | PBS NewsHour

With at least three Republican senators pledging to oppose this repeal,
What happens now in the Senate after another failure to repeal Obamacare? - CBS News
it appears the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act will remain
the law of the land for the foreseeable future.

Health Care Will Bankrupt America
https://www.thetrumpet.com/16095-health-care-will-bankrupt-america

The federal government already spends 5.5 percent of the nation’s gross domestic product on health care. According to the Congressional Budget Office, this spending will increase to 9.2 percent of gdp within 30 years. Such a spending increase will require a $9,450 permanent tax increase per household, unless the government slashes trillions of dollars of spending from some other major department, like the Department of Defense.

Democratic socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders has an alternative. If adopted, his single-payer health-care plan will add $32 trillion in new costs over the next decade, according to the Tax Policy Center. That is 16 times more expensive than Obamacare. So it is not an economically feasible solution either.

Unless Medicare is reformed and the Affordable Care Act is repealed, the U.S. government will have to borrow even more exorbitant sums of money than it has been doing so far. The Congressional Budget Office estimates that the national debt will soar to an incomprehensible $92 trillion over the next 30 years. That means 60 to 100 percent of all individual income taxes will go toward paying the interest of this debt, depending on interest rates in 2047. Since roughly half of all federal revenue comes from individual income taxes, this leaves little money for running a country.

Based on current budget projections, out-of-control health-care spending is pushing America toward bankruptcy and economic collapse. If interest rates rise faster than expected, America could soon be spending trillions of dollars per year on interest and struggling to finance both an army and a welfare state.

The Bible says a “good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children”
(Proverbs 13:22). Yet in order to enjoy an easier life right now, Americans
today are leaving their “children’s children” with a $92 trillion debt.

McCain & the senators from Alaska & Maine all voted no, shutting down the bill in the senate.

How McCain tanked Obamacare repeal - POLITICO

Paul Ryan couldn’t persuade him. Neither could Mike Pence. And in the end, President Donald Trump couldn’t reel in John McCain either.
The president made a last-ditch effort, calling the Arizona senator and key holdout on the GOP’s Obamacare repeal measure, as the bill’s fate hung in the balance, according to two sources familiar with the conversation. After Pence had spent about 20 minutes working McCain, the senator went off the floor to speak with Trump by phone, those sources said.

Whatever the men said, it didn’t work. Shortly before 1:30 a.m. Friday, McCain strode to the well of the Senate, and gestured his hand downward to vote “no.” Stunned gasps echoed throughout the chamber.
“I thought it was the right vote,” McCain told reporters as he left the Capitol. “I do my job as a senator.”

Should EVERYONE go to the emergency room lets say once a month and will the emergency room doctor tell us to schedule another visit In a month?

I have to disagree with this.
Yes it's true the pharmaceutical companies get a 7 year patent and it causes prices to be high, but it's not what you think. The problem is the patents arent long enough. The pharmaceutical companies must spend an enormous amount of money to get the drug approved by the government. Something that is much cheaper in Europe. There is too much regulation in the United States. Then the drug companies have only seven years to recover their cost and produce a profit that their investors are entitled to. Most investors are middle-class workers with a IRA. Compound that with europe using public policy to set the prices lower, the United States consumer ends up subsidizing European healthcare. High drug prices are a result of excessive govertment regulation and bad trade policy. It isn't nothing nefarious on the part of the pharmaceutical industry. I'm sure they would like to stop being demonized by the public and politicians.

I don't know about others, but all I can say on this one is Thank You John McCain for stopping this piece of trash from being forwarded. To the rest of the swamp, get off your high horses, return to regular order, and work on the budget for next FY. It should have been completed in May. No wonder we can't have a balanced budget. Our legislators spend all their time in la la land, dreaming about how great they are.

President Trump said that he was going to drain the swamp. I think that he is happy feeding the gators.

It is not free young man, us working folks pay for it.
With that said, I do not mind paying for those truly in need, but many are just lazy.

Not what I said.
Many/most working people have ins. We pay for it with the money we earn.
Some people are truly in need and I will gladly pay taxes to help them.
BUT, there are just to many who are lazy, don't work and DEMAND that free ins is their right.
Some say they can not afford ins but have cell phones, computers, and other toys.

I point is that many politicians, those in the news media, and many others use scare tactics when they say "people will die"
This is a lie.
I will ask again-----Do you know of a single person in this country that has been denied medical help because they did not have ins?
