How did the Greeks and Romans know about planets if they were just dots in the sky? They gave them names, and even Israelite kings worshiped them.

No one in the bible had telescopes or a space program.

2 Kings 23:5
And he put down the idolatrous priests, whom the kings of Judah had ordained to burn incense in the high places in the cities of Judah, and in the places round about Jerusalem; them also that burned incense unto Baal, to the sun, and to the moon, and to the planets, and to all the host of heaven.

They didn't have light pollution back then so their view of the night sky would have been great.

Yeah I can pull up obviously hand drawn frisbee planet pictures all day and pretend they are supposed to be real, so I can say 'aha' too.

But there are millions of actual pictures of our planet, which you folks ignore.

Perhaps they didn't have a telescope but a few of them understood mathematics quite well and based on observable calculations determined a close approximate distance between the earth, the sun and the planets. They did not come up with the sun being 3000 miles from earth but rather a magnitude of 93,000,000 miles and 238,000 miles from the earth to the sun. If the sun was only 3000 miles away the earth would be burnt to a crisp.

No there are not, we don't ignore them, I look at them and say "Hey there's a cartoon image".

Unless the sun was the same size of the moon and "not that hot", than it could be closer and we could be safe.

If you apply the globe earth sun to the flat earth model you can quickly dismiss it because they are not compatible with one another, if you use the flat earth sun everything is ok.

Smart enough to look at a small dot in the sky and conclude that it's a massive ball of rock or gas but not smart enough to worship the living God.

You don't really know whether or not that the ones who did the calculations worshiped the living God or not and neither do I as I was not there and don't know these people. Only the distance from the sun to the earth was determined, not the composition of the sun.

How did the flat earth people determine that the distance from the sun to the earth is 3000 miles? Did they attached the end of a measuring tape to earth and using a space ship placed the other end on the sun?

I don't know, I don't really research flat earth theories. Probably maths and observation.

Please explain how you can have darkness on a flat earth when the sun is 93 million miles away. There is absolutely no way to locate a place on the earth using known distances between known points where darkness would exist if the sun is 93 million miles from earth. In fact, the only way that there can be the type darkness experienced on the earth is if the earth is a spherical object.

Anyone who believes that the Bible supports a flat earth, needs to spent a little more time studying the Bible. I believe that God created night and day early in Genesis 1. The earth has been spinning since.

"If we start putting any forces in to the space station it's going to make those solar rays bounce around a little bit so to prevent that the machines bounce around a little bit, move around a little bit, and that way we don't put any forces on to the structure of the space craft out to the solar rays"

Wow, astronauts are so meticulous. Especially how they keep their junk and tools blocking the airlock.

If the sun is 3000 miles away and only 32 miles across then Venus must be what about 2500 miles away and like 600 to 1000 yards across?? VENUS passing across the sun
