BINGO.... This place is on my last nerve..

Well for pete's sake, why bother with the BDF at all. You know it is mostly ignorance and arrogance. I can't think of a single thing I have ever learned there, outside of this thread.

This thread is the only edifying one I know of.

Most of it is either boring or contentious. If you don't like dealing with other people's arrogance and ignorance, by all means don't. Assume that nothing you say will change anyone's mind in the BDF. You are not that great. Most of those posting have no interest in submitting to other's viewpoints. Don't think you can change anyones mind by reasoning with them.

Stay away from the BDF. You will not find edification there.

You know what? Let's get one thing straight: I don't think I'm great, so PLEASE stop assuming you know anything about me.. Secondly, THIS thread is in the BDF, and I truly wish it wasn't because this forum is the single most evil, nasty and hateful forum on the entire site.. And to be bluntly honest, I haven't been edified on here in a VERY long time..

They really really need to do this...

There should at least be some sort of warning/disclaimer in bold letters at the top of the forum that says..

Welcome to the BDF

I believe both caffeine and sugar are neuro toxins. You may be damaging your baby's brain by consuming them.
(I have no data to support this.)
Sugar is definitely an inflammation inducer. There is a lot of info on this from different docs. I don't know about caffeine, but being it is a stimulant I have no doubt about it being toxic, but again no proof. Also don't pig out on any good thing, taste wise, most things that taste good aren't good for you or a fetus. Darn :(

BLB, when I said "you're not that great" I didn't mean it as an insult. I meant being human like the rest of us there is very little anyone can do to change the opinion of another. Ultimately only God can do that. Therefore don't get frustrated when what you say, no matter how enlightened, doesn't affect the opinion of another.

No disrespect was intended. I apologize if it came across that way.

Ok, I'm confused.......what does Diabetes have to do with Alzheimers?

(gracenpeace sez)

This problem has nothing to do sugar ingestion per se.
Glycation of molecules is all to do with high levels of glucose in the blood.
There has been a consensus that Alzheimer's can be caused by a consistent presence of inflammation. I forgot what the fancy word is for that LOL. At any rate sugar=inflammation=alzheimer's would seem to be the idea.

I'm screwed then. My aunt Norma died of complications of a stroke, but also had alzheimers.. My other aunt, her sister, died of alzheimers.. and my parents are both showing signs of it.. My family is weak physically, bad hearts, bad knees, bad backs and hips, and bad brains.. On both sides of the family.

By the way, good Wednesday morning everyone. Today was a poached egg day for me. I do two poached eggs on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Being retired it helps to keep me on a schedule. By the way, I steam poach my eggs in a six egg poacher. When I was in a hospital years ago I asked for poached egg and they brought me a "dropped egg", at least that's what I called it. They cracked open an egg and dropped it into boiling water. Watery whites don't appeal to me. I guess they didn't have a steam poacher or couldn't do enough at once to be able to do it that way. I don't ask for poached eggs when I am out anywhere now.

I use enough butter on my eggs and toast that I think I will start going to whole foods to get butter from grass fed cows to keep it more healthy. Not less fattening, just less junk in the arteries. Just hate giving up that cheap stuff at Sam's Club.

I am sorry your family is having so many problems. Try to get your parents on 200mg. of Resveratrol per day to stop or significantly slow the progression of Alzheimer's. This from the Georgetown University Medical Center in DC. Here is the link to the article on it: Resveratrol found to slow progression of Alzheimer’s

I have had my sister on it and the disease progression has slowed way way down. They might try Fisetin also. In invitro and animal trials mainly, it was found to regenerate brain cells. There were some human trials, but not many and I have my sister on it. It seems to be regenerating brain cells, but not all types for all uses, if that makes any sense. Some things come back to her, but not everything evenly.

I think I'm losing my mind....yesterday, I locked myself in the trunk out of pure curiosity and today I was at the store going frantic because I couldn't find my phone and here I was texting on it. Please tell me I'm not the only one who does this....
How did you get out of the trunk??
