The term "cheap grace" has also been used by some that believe we can lose salvation and thus if someone believes that Jesus is not a liar when He said "The Holy Spirit will be in you forever". John 14:16 - they need to come up with a derogatory term to attack those that believe in Christ's work on the cross and resurrection.
Translation: People that talk against "cheap grace" are attackers & don't believe in Christ's work on the cross, nor the resurrection.

My, what a horrific judgment call, saying we're going to hell. Where else can we go with a judgment like that?

This is very unfortunate because it cost our Lord Jesus Christ the shedding of His blood and His life on this earth to save us. He is the Savior - not us.

Make no mistake about it - there is an all out war against the gospel of the grace of God in Christ's finished work on the cross and resurrection. But the earth shall be filled with the glory/goodness and knowledge of the Lord in these last days.
Translation: We "sinners" are at war with the cheap gracers, and cheap grace is our salvation, not what the Bible says.

God's goodness & glory shall fill the Earth during the Falling Away.

If you can't see thru that it's cause you don't want to.

In other words PeterJens you are offended by the term "cheap grace"?

Welcome to the club. Most folks find it and the concepts represented by it offensive.
I have not problems with cheap grace or anything people fling at me.

I do not have problems plastering this over images of Jesus and dying on
the cross.

But it this seems to have passed you by, which really was my point.
You in the perjorative did not even notice.

That is what grieves me, nothing to do with me or supposed insult.

Things dear to my heart are there for a reason and I fear for those who
treat such things lightly.

But they took the Lord of love and crucified Him because they could not
face the implications that such a life needs a life response, not just words
and small statements.

God bless you

Lets get it right. The grace specialists are declaring war, no one else is because
there version of faith has no power or godliness.

And that means it is irrelevant. End of story.
Dont get "no one else is because their version of faith has no power or godliness.

1john chap 3

Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.

2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

3 And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.

4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.

5 And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.

6 Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.

7 Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.

8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

Matthew 19:26

26 But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.

Timothy 3:5

5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

if it is so easy, why do you not see it?

Look to the day of atonement, Look inside the ark, the ten commands (no one can fulfill/all have sinned) Arrons rod that budded (rebellion against God) and the loaf of manna (represent rejecting Gods provision)

The day of atonement, the lamb was sacrificed. And the blood was splattered over the window which looked into the ark. All things God had against mankind were seen, and it is all he needed to execute judgment. covering it so God could not see inside, A he could see was the lambs blood. the sin was covered. the guilty were forgiven. redemption had been purchased, and atonement had been made.

That is what Christ did on the cross. When he looks at us, He sees his son, not the things which condemn us.. As paul said, he took those things out of the way and nailed them to the cross (col 2)

so tell me, what did the average jew do to recieve this atonement? What work did he perform?
Hebrews 9:13
Mathew 22:1-14

Galatians 3:27

PeterJens we can talk after you figure out what these two Bible verses mean and how it can apply to this thread...

1 Peter 4:8
New International Version
Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.

New Living Translation
Most important of all, continue to show deep love for each other, for love covers a multitude of sins.

English Standard Version
Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins.

Berean Study Bible
Above all, love one another deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.

****
Proverbs 10:12 ►
New International Version
Hatred stirs up conflict, but love covers over all wrongs.

New Living Translation
Hatred stirs up quarrels, but love makes up for all offenses.

English Standard Version
Hatred stirs up strife, but love covers all offenses.

New American Standard Bible
Hatred stirs up strife, But love covers all transgressions.

King James Bible
Hatred stirreth up strifes: but love covereth all sins.
I am not blind to transgressions. I simply choose to love and pray instead of harp and nag.

Is that what you call it? Ain't nothin' friendly about it.
Yeah, I gotta agree with you on this, Stephen, there is nothing friendly in someone slandering and being abusive, it is quite the opposite. They make enemies and then say, hey, just because I hate you and want to kill you, why you no welcome me? LOL. An outside observer may think, oh, between any two people, the behavior is the same, so it takes some discernment to determine that one person actually is lying and slandering and being abusive, while the other is standing for the Truth of the matter in return.

Your right Bill if folks understood what it meant to be born again and what it cost,we might see something different.

People don't walk along side others..,they run past and push folks into ditches instead...it's really sad because they run down the broad path and not the narrow way.

No matter how much you call out for them to stop and pray.

Lol Bill...

Fixed it for you.
I am so embarrassed but can't stop laughing at my faux pas.

So everyone please know that I have not seen this in action, I didn't have sin in this action myself.

I should have said "I knew a couple who were like the believers that Paul was addressing"

It's been a long long day

Oh dear I'm not doing very well tonight am I?
It's alright..I am going to post about group three and leave it in God's hands.,,truthfully I ask God, what's the point?

No one listening anyway.

But I have long since learnt the wisdom of doing what God ask even if I think it's pointless and feel discouraged by the while situation.

Yeah that's good cuz I don't understand much in this world...it's all rather illogical.

Sometimes all we can do is trust God.

(and throw a pie at you..hahahaha)

You're right. I don't read many threads. Why should I? You think it's nice to be arguing about what God's plan is?
I came to a forum for a specific reaon. I have found what I was looking for, but not here. I desired to speak to people about God --- the reason is irrlevant. Instead what do we do? Put each other down. This is not edifying - it's not what Jesus wanted. He said that we're all to be as one. We are all baptized into one body. And this is how we should act. It's gotten a bit better since I first came on - someone here is very upset, but God will have to deal with that, not me. I'm glad that you and I are able to speak and not yell at each other.
Sadly, there are so many ways to heaven being preached, that will not happen.

I said I believe it is not possible to be sanctified in this life; however, I'm not prepred to say it's IMPOSSIBLE.
you know what they say, many things are improbable, but nothing is impossible. I know some monks who MIGHT be sanctified at the end of their life, but who am I to really know?

did you mean glorified?

No. You've understood. In the process of Sanctification, our co-operation is imperative. God will not Do this phase of our salvation all by Himself. We are REQUIRED to participate.

Since I believe in loss of salvation if one abandons God, they would lose both S and J.
One cannot be J if he denies God and does not want to be a part of he Kingdom.

That would mean justification is not free, it is not of grace, it is of our work, our work to continue to follow him in all the trial and struggle and persecution and never give up to the point we deny him.

God also said we have been justified,, Not we may be,, Did God lie

What you have done here is what many do. they mix justification and sanctification together. They make salvation dependent on our sanctification.

ps, it is God who sanctifies us, I would not be so proud to think you did the work yourself. Yes you ALLOWED GOD to work in you, and that takes many acts of faith, and alot of humility, but you do not sanctify yourself.

By one sacrifice he has perfected FOREVER those who are BEING SANCTIFIED.

I was perfected the moment I was born of water and spirit. I was justified freely by God, And am in the process of being sanctified by God.. God tears me down, so he can lift me up..

Nope nothing friendly about it.

Alas us beleivers have a great knack of shooting our wounded.

Not surprising really is it that people reject Jesus when we as believers can't

John 13:34-35
A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”
