Lol thats hilarious.I cant see the old guy saying that. He made a statement that the accusations were false yesterday. Who knows?Haven't heard much in the way of details. Women today want it both ways, they want to be seen as sexy and hot but they dont want to be told that they are, only by certain men.Yet they want the attention of all men. Ive walked by women, fake breasts hung out, playboy shirt stretched across their chest, clothes so tight you can count the veins in their behind and smile at my husband. And I think "is this what it takes to be a woman now days? Is this what it takes to get/have a man?" Then if a man responds they're the pervert. But there's nothing perverted about looking like a 2 dollar hussy. Im not defending Bill,he may be guilty as sin. But its a different world out there and I think women are sending mixed messages to men. And I see Christian women dressing the same way. There's a difference between dressing attractively and dressing for attention.
Most women, to varying degrees, work to be seen as sexy (or desirable) because they know that all hetrosexual men value curves and bumps found on the female body. Some value it more than others and some value it above all. (a certain US president come to mind). All men value the reproductive attributes of a female body - breasts and hips that are made for birthin' babies. The bigger these are (within reason) the better she will be at giving him children to carry on his name and lineage. This drive is BORN into men and is innate. No man can overcome it...unless he is truly gay...but that is another topic.

Men spend HUGE sums of money on women (dating, seeing, oggling at, etc) who have the attractive female attributes mentioned above. Women of all kinds (believers too) want to be noticed by men, so we put on our clothes (etc) that we think will attract them.

Yes, but then many of those same women get terribly "offended" when they get the reaction they were striving to get.

Calling someone "hot chocolate" was intended to be a compliment, I would imagine. Perhaps a slightly crude compliment, but a compliment nonetheless. It might not have been crude, but that depends on the type of relationship the two of them had. I have worked with women that enjoy joking around with guys, and women that would be offended at ANY slightly off color remark.

I would bet she had done just as you described.... dressing to attract the attention of men, then deciding she was offended when her boss made a slightly crude compliment.

I don't think I've ever watched O'Reilly and I really have no opinion on the latest accusations other than to say that if a man lives a life beyond reproach it's pretty difficult for someone to bring false accusations and make them stick.

Outside of that, I wish someone would fire me and then pay me 25 million. :D

There are three accusers and possibly more, why is the focus JUST on the black woman? What happen to the famous saying around here, "Let's wait until all the facts are in."? Guess that only applies to those who look like most of you or for those with like minds and it's always the same few.

I won't post the videos because I'm not sure if the content is allowed here. Youtube has many videos on it.

I'm surprised at some of the comments on here. Sexual harrassment is not okay. Some of the comments on here seem to be complaining about women complaining about sexual harassment. Show me the commandment that says, "Thou shalt make sexual comments about thou coworker." No one should have to work in an environment where they're being turned into a sex object.

And calling someone "hot chocolate"? How is that not both racist and inappropriate?

I dont mean this to sound nasty, but this is a Christian forum and we do not believe the evolution theory. I dont buy into this at all.Sorry.

Perhaps, but looking well put together is one thing, attracting attention is another.I dress to go out then I say to hubby "is this too low cut? Is it too tight?" Dressing well and dressing to get attention are two different things.

So far its his word against hers. We dont know what we dont know. So theres that. Now no one should have to put up with sexual harassment,if that is indeed what has happened. But there is a lot of politics around this person so we'll have to wait and see. There are a whole lot of harassment claims out there that are just false. Then we have women who want attention, like Willie said, but only from certain men and thats hypocritical.

I have been reading different sites on my Facebook page seeing what secular people are thinking about this situation. I was rather surprised what women were saying about it. A lot seemed to say that it was a lot of foolishness and that it made the work place harder because men dont want to hire women that cry over everything thats said to them. Im not in the work place so I cant comment here,I was just interested in what peoples opinions were. Until it all comes out we dont know. By the way, sexual harassment goes both ways. My husband works with a woman that let it be known she was a former stripper and she has asked the men,the job has mostly men,if she should get a "boob job." She pulled her shirt down the other day to show her "tan lines". My husband ignores her and he says shes rude to him. Ya,happens both ways.

You're right, and if he is innocent, then she should be prosecuted for making false accusations. But That still doesn't mean that anyone should have to put up with sexual harassment. Regardless of whether or not this case is true, some people seem to be complaining that women are complaining about sexual harassment in general.

You're right that some people want attention. But I find it interesting that when a house is broken into I've never seen some say, "Well, maybe the victim left his/her door unlocked or put a sign saying come right in! If that's the case then he/she deserves to be robbed!" And when someone is mugged or murdered, most people don't say, "Well, maybe the victim called the attackers a bad name and in that case who can blame the criminal?" But when it comes to harassment or even rape, it becomes a case of, "Well, did the woman wear a short skirt? Was she flirting with her attacker/harasser? Well, in that case why does she complain?" I've heard a lot of, "Well that's different because [fill in reason]." But what it seems to boil down to is "Well, in that case it might be me!" or "But people don't have a right to murder, assault, or steal! But everyone knows it's a God given right that people should be allowed to sexually harass others!" Hmmm...strange, I don't remember the Bible saying to put the victim on trial in cases of harassment but not in cases of robbery or murder. I do remember verses demonstrating that people are responsible for their own actions and that every criminal deserves a trial. In the course of events, naturally the exact circumstances would be brought to light, but that's for every crime. Only it seems to me that very few crimes besides harassment or assault cause people to suspect the victim of provoking an attack...

And also, there's a difference between wanting to look nice and wanting to be harassed. Some women do wear clothing that's too tight or too revealing and that's not right. But what about a woman that wears a dress that brings out her eyes because she thinks she looks pretty in it? Or a dress that shows that she has a figure but isn't form fitting? Likely she would like compliments, but there's a huge difference between wanting, "That's a nice dress. You look pretty today." and "You have a fine *****." Modesty doesn't mean wearing baggy clothing and making sure your hair is messed up in case someone might possibly look your way.

Yes, I imagine a lot of sexual harassers don't want to work with women who cry about being harassed. Just like a rapist doesn't want to be around a victim who would go to the police. And domestic abusers don't want their victims to whine about being hit. But it doesn't matter what the harassers want; contrary to what they believe, they should be in control of their own mouths and bodies and if they hurt or harass someone else they should be punished. The world doesn't exist to make sure they can do whatever they want, whenever they want, to whomever they want and never face any consequences. I'd imagine some parents are on this site. If your kid curses at you, is it wrong for you to punish him/her? After all, if men don't want to work with women who cry over harassment, why should kids want to have parents that get angry about every little instance of disrespect?

Yes, it does happen both ways. Women harass men just as men harass women. But neither way is right. Your husband would be perfectly within his rights to complain to HR and she should be disciplined. That doesn't mean men can harass women because some women harass men as well.

I'm still waiting to hear even the first complaint about being consistently called "Ho" and "Bi__ch." But I suspect I never will hear that.

Just like you won't hear any complaining about what young good-looking guys may say..... unless they happen to be rich enough that a possible "Payday" can be hoped for.

Please don't try to play the race card on this... that just demeans you...

Personally, I thought the woman in the interview was very attractive. I can see someone joking with her somewhat suggestively, calling her hot chocolate. That is NOT an insult, or a racial comment... I have seen and heard countless black people refer to people of color as "chocolate".... Most memorably, the ex mayor of New Orleans, when he made a comment on national TV about how they were going to make NO "chocolate" again, after Katrina.

Her story is the only one I've heard, regarding the specifics of the "sexual harassment" perpetrated by O'Reilly... .

I'm very interested to hear the other accusers' claims.... in detail. One person's sexual harassment is another person's "are you KIDDING me right now? You're offended by THAT? "

I strongly suspect that all the claims are as trivial as this woman's... which is why they haven't been made public?

I am open to being proven wrong, though...

Our instruction manual, the Bible, says whether we find it acceptable or not, if doing it offends a brother/sister, we are not to do it. It's not difficult to put that into practice.

Insult or not, I can't see God looking too kindly at a man who jokingly says things like "Hey, hot chocolate!" to a lady who isn't his wife. Just looking at a woman in lust is the same thing as adultery. I doubt old Bill is a Christian and it's not my place to judge him but it seems weird to read Christians defending this type of behavior as just good natured ribaldry. Christians in the past would have blushed at this type of behavior and rightfully denounced it, now we just treat sexual comments to coworkers like it's no big deal. The continuing crudeness of the culture has now started to negatively affect the church.

My friends and I joke about being Crusty Old Geezers. This is not an unusual thing with any Seniors I know. Should I expect you to be offended by it? Of course not. And, unless you came to me and told me it hurt you, and asked me not to do it, how am I going to know that you would be offended by an expression I hear and use all the time?

"Hot Chocolate" is NOT an offensive comment. Women have called me "Eye Candy", "Tall Dark and Handsome", and "Stud Muffin", and similar terms, most of my life. Not offensive........ UNLESS, I choose to bring an attention-craving spotlight to focus directly on myself and make something out of it that it never was.
