Was that the singles chat or the main chat? I seem to remember that some time ago they made some changes so that less of the chat was available to new members without a buying subscription. I think it was something like the main and Bible study rooms were still open but everything else cost (as well as you couldn't use private messaging without paying). I could be wrong about that as it was a long time ago in internet time (like maybe a couple years) and those of us who were here prior to that kind of got grandfathered in so couldn't see the changes until we heard people asking why they couldn't do what we could do, but if you tried other than the main chat, I'd recommend trying the main chat and seeing if that will work for you.
I don't know how the phone app works, but you should be able to log into live chat through the forum. I'm not a subscriber and I can log in and participate. Scroll to the top of any page and click "Christian Chat Rooms and Forums", select whether or not to use a web cam (I don't), and the click "Chat Now!"
The Lounge is usually a relaxed chat. Bible Study can be a bit more, um, intense at times. I don't hang out in the other rooms.

I'm about to go renew my license on very little sleep lol. This should be my best driver's license pic yet. 
These are both correct... and NO ONE hangs out in the other rooms...
(they're usually all empty except the lounge and BS - I don't know about the teens room though, but we can't go in there anyway

So I'm in philosophy class today and my professor was reincarnation for something we were talking about. Then he made a joke saying, "have you ever wondered why babies look old when they are born?' Then one girl responded saying "that's why they are crying when they are born". While it was a joke I'm there think "wow my mind is blown" lol

The last time I had mine done the guy told me I have small eyes and he needed me to open them more, he took my picture 3 times. I finally said, dude this isn't Vogue, my kid's are going nuts can we be done now? I look like someone stuck a stick up my butt because I was trying to open my eyes wide. I'm avoiding his line next time.

So Walmart has this new thing.
Before you had to purchase over $50 online for free shipping and it would be delivered to your home anywhere from several days to whenever. It would just surprise you in the mail on any given day.
Now, it's only a $35 purchase required for free, two day shipping.
I guess they're going after Amazon Prime with their services with no subscription fees.
I tried their new thingy on Wednesday and everything came by today.
Anyway, I thought someone here would like to know.
The only downside I can think of on this, is that you're buying from Walmart.
